Abstract

The development of information technology has transformed the communication patterns and political behavior of young generations, including students at Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED). Social media has become the primary source for obtaining, understanding, and disseminating political information, thereby significantly shaping students’ political opinions. This study aims to analyze the role of social media in shaping UNIMED students’ opinions on political issues in Indonesia, identify their perceptions of political issues circulating on social media, and examine the influence of social media on the construction of their political views. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the research employed surveys, observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving 27 UNIMED student informants. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and verification techniques. The findings reveal that social media plays a significant role as students’ main political information source, directing their attention through algorithmic exposure, and influencing opinion formation through digital public interactions. Social media also acts as a discursive space where students actively express political views, while simultaneously posing risks of information bias, polarization, and misinformation. Overall, social media affects the cognitive, affective, and conative aspects of students in understanding and responding to national political issues

Abstract

This study examines the impact of interactive learning media on the learning motivation of elementary school students through a systematic literature review. The problem underlying this study is the low utilization of interactive media in elementary education, which results in passive learning, limited student engagement, and declining motivation. The study aims to analyze types of effective interactive media, identify their influence on motivational aspects, and evaluate challenges in their implementation at the elementary school level. Using purposive sampling, this review synthesizes national journals, empirical studies, and educational literature published within the last ten years. The analysis shows that interactive media such as game based learning, interactive videos, simulations, augmented reality, and mobile learning applications significantly increase students’ attention, curiosity, confidence, satisfaction, and overall motivation. Visual stimulation, immediate feedback, and hands-on learning experiences make abstract concepts more concrete and meaningful. However, issues such as limited infrastructure, teacher digital competence, content quality, and classroom management challenges remain obstacles to optimal implementation. The study concludes that interactive media play a crucial role in enhancing intrinsic motivation and supporting active, student-centered learning. The findings highlight the need for continuous teacher training, equitable digital access, and contextually relevant media development to maximize the benefits of interactive learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The interest of students at SMA Negeri 3 Pati in participating in the DUTA extracurricular program is very high; however, although SMA Negeri 3 Pati is the only school in Pati Regency that provides this program, the best achievements have not yet been attained. This study aims to investigate how the DUTA extracurricular program is managed at SMA Negeri 3 Pati to improve students’ non-academic achievements. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the management of the DUTA extracurricular program has been implemented systematically and strategically through four stages: planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation. The planning stage is reflected in the preparation of training programs tailored to students’ needs. The implementation stage is conducted systematically and contributes to improving students’ self-confidence, communication skills, and achievements, although it still faces several obstacles such as limited training time, unstable attendance, and insufficient additional funding. Supervision is carried out by the mentors to monitor discipline, participation, and the development of participants’ abilities. Evaluation is conducted through the assessment of training outcomes, performance quality, and achievements in various competitions. The SIMANTAP program in managing the DUTA SMAGA extracurricular activities demonstrates collaboration between the school and parents to enhance students’ non-academic achievements through continuous guidance, support, and monitoring.

Abstract

The background that drives this research is the low understanding of fourth grade elementary school students regarding the material of plant body parts and their functions in learning natural and socialsciences (IPAS). The results of observations and interviews at SDN Pandean Lamper 02 showed that teachers did not adapt learning to the needs of students in using interesting teaching media during teaching and learning activities in class, because teachers only focused on the printed books used so that students were not interested and bored while learning. This type of research is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects consisted of one teacher and 29 fourth grade students of SDN Pandean Lamper 02. The results of this study showed that the developed Spinning Wheel media was declared very suitable for use based on the assessment of media and material validators. Teachers and students gave very good responses, shown by enthusiasm during learning that the media facilitated understanding of IPAS material. Effectiveness testing through a comparison of pretest andposttest scores showed a significant increase in learning outcomes after the use of the Spinning Wheel media. This demonstrates that the Spinning Wheel media can create an interactive, enjoyable learning environment and increase student engagement. Suggestions include developing this media digitally or expanding the study to different materials and grade levels to achieve better results.

Abstract

The gap between the idealism of progressivism and the actual practice of deep learning in classrooms calls for a deeper empirical investigation. This study aims to describe the patterns of implementing deep learning principles within the framework of progressive education in elementary schools and to identify the challenges and strategies used to address them. An exploratory case study was conducted using semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The unit of analysis consisted of the principal, teachers, and students from an elementary school implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka, while data were analyzed inductively using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. The findings reveal that the application of inquiry learning, project-based learning, and problem-based learning enhances students’ active engagement, conceptual understanding, and connection between learning materials and authentic experiences. However, variations in learning readiness, limited facilities, and curriculum demands pose major challenges that require adaptive instructional strategies and institutional support. Teachers address these constraints through differentiated instruction, authentic assessment, and professional collaboration. Overall, the study concludes that deep learning strengthens progressive educational practices at the elementary level and highlights the need for systemic support through continuous training, policy alignment, and adequate resources to ensure meaningful and sustainable learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of student management at SDN 130/VI Jambi City, which includes the processes of habituation, discipline, supervision, teacher evaluation, and the mechanism for new student admissions. The study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where data is collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that the school implements character habituation through routine activities such as flag ceremonies, literacy programs, morning exercises, and Yasin readings as efforts to shape students' character. Discipline supervision is conducted through the formation of the Anti-Bullying and Discipline Team, as well as collaboration between homeroom teachers and parents. The teacher supervision system also works effectively to evaluate educational services while monitoring both academic and non-academic student development. Additionally, extracurricular activities have a positive impact on student achievement at the national level. The student admission process.

Abstract

Speaking ability is an essential skill that must be developed in early childhood because it influences social interaction and learning achievement. Initial observations at TK BPP Rendakasih, Cisitu District, showed that some students were still passive and lacked confidence in speaking, indicating the need for a learning strategy that could increase participation and verbal skills. This study aims to analyze the effect of role-playing methods on students’ speaking ability and to improve teacher and student activity during learning. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral design, consisting of four phases: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were students of Group B at TK BPP Rendakasih, conducted over three cycles with one meeting per cycle. Data were collected through observation of teacher activity, student participation, and speaking ability tests, then analyzed descriptively both qualitatively and quantitatively to observe trends of improvement across cycles. The results showed significant improvements in all three aspects: teacher activity increased from 62% to 100%, student activity increased from 53% to 87%, and students’ speaking ability improved from 52% to 88%, indicating that the role-playing method effectively encourages engagement, confidence, and verbal skills. In conclusion, the role-playing method is proven to enhance early childhood speaking skills comprehensively and improve learning quality. It is recommended that teachers continue implementing role-playing strategies with varied media and ongoing evaluation, while adjusting roles and activities according to students’ characteristics for optimal results. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar Bahasa Indonesia berbasis website interaktif pada materi teks prosedur di kelas VII SMP 5 Percut Sei Tuan. Masalah utama yang ditemukan di lapangan adalah rendahnya pemahaman dan motivasi siswa terhadap materi teks prosedur, terutama pada topik “Makanan Bergizi”. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner terhadap 30 siswa, sebagian besar menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran dengan media konvensional masih kurang menarik, sementara penggunaan teknologi membuat proses belajar lebih menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model Sugiyono yang mencakup tahap analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, pembuatan, evaluasi, dan revisi produk. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis website interaktif membantu siswa memahami langkah-langkah teks prosedur secara lebih mudah, meningkatkan keterlibatan belajar, dan menumbuhkan minat terhadap pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Melalui media interaktif ini, pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik dan sesuai dengan semangat Merdeka Belajar yang menekankan kebebasan, kreativitas, dan kemandirian siswa. Hasil validasi menunjukkan produk layak digunakan dan efektif meningkatkan pemahaman serta motivasi siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' understanding of the blended learning model and their perceptions in implementing blended learning. This study is a survey study with a quantitative approach with data obtained through interviews with several teachers, journals or scientific articles, and documents or files related to teachers' understanding of the blended learning model. While the data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive to describe and explain the overall data that will be concluded at the end of the study. This study concluded that some teachers do not understand the blended learning model, which indirectly means some teachers are still not ready to implement the blended learning model. The results of this study are expected to be used as a benchmark in improving teacher quality in learning and as a reference for further research on blended learning.

Abstract

During the learning process, teachers do not modify their teaching methods enough and do not utilize creative, innovative, interactive, and engaging learning media. Consequently, students are less motivated and their cognitive learning outcomes in Indonesian subjects decline. Therefore, there needs to be learning media that supports the learning process. Therefore, researchers decided to use Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media with the TANDUR method (grow, experience, name, demonstrate, repeat, and celebrate) in the learning process. This research and development aims to develop Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media, especially in Indonesian subjects, namely the Sehatlah Ragaku material, to describe the feasibility level of Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media developed to measure student understanding after using Quantum Teaching-based Flipbook media. Research this study was conducted at SDN Kragilan 6 in grade IV with 20 students consisting of 9 boys and 11 girls. The research method was R&D (Research and Development) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The validation results from the learning material experts from both validators obtained an average percentage of 90.5%, meeting the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The results of the validation of learning language experts from both validators got an average percentage of 87.5% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate. The results of the validation of media experts from both validators got an average percentage of 87.3% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The overall average percentage of validators got a percentage of 88% with the criteria of "Very Appropriate". The increase in understanding of cognitive learning outcomes of students got a percentage of 85.5% which is included in the category of "Very Good", as well as the average results of cognitive learning tests of 0.72 that the increase in the average value of students is included in the high category because N-gain is in the interval of N-gain> 0.7. If we pay attention to the results of the N-gain test, the increase in cognitive understanding in students after studying the material is already at a high level.
