Abstract

This research is driven by the fact that learning activities in schools rely solely on student handbooks provided by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. The researcher argues that supplementary books for students need to be developed using the Oral Reading Fluency learning model. Additionally, students' reading fluency skills are still lacking. This study aims to describe the development process of teaching materials based on the Oral Reading Fluency model that are valid, practical, and effective. This research was conducted with 30 second-grade students at Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) SD Negeri 02 Halaban, Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This study is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using the 4-D model, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate.Validity data were obtained through teaching material validation sheets, the implementation of lesson plans, and teacher and student response assessments. Effectiveness was measured based on the students' reading ability outcomes. The results of the development research show that the teaching materials were first validated by expert validators and educational practitioners to obtain feedback, resulting in materials that align with the Oral Reading Fluency model to help students improve learning quality. Consequently, the developed materials fall into the "highly valid" category. Based on the trials, the materials facilitate both teachers and students and attract their interest. This is evidenced by the student and teacher responses, which placed the practicality level in the "highly practical" category. Furthermore, the materials have demonstrated a significant positive impact, as seen in the effective results of students' reading fluency. In conclusion, the teaching materials based on the Oral Reading Fluency model for improving elementary school students' reading fluency in Limapuluh Kota Regency are declared valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of standard and non-standard words in daily communication among Generation Alpha. Generation Alpha, defined as individuals born from 2010 to the present, has grown up in a digital era that is strongly influenced by social media, technology, and internet culture. This condition is believed to affect their language habits, including their choice of word forms. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation and interviews with a number of elementary and junior high school students at SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal. The collected data were analyzed based on linguistic rules outlined in the Great Dictionary of the Indonesian Language (Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia/KBBI) to identify forms of standard and non-standard words used and their contexts of usage. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of patterns of Indonesian language use among Generation Alpha and to serve as a consideration for more contextual Indonesian language development and instruction in the digital era.

Abstract

Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) education in elementary schools plays an important role in instilling an appreciation for the arts and a love for local culture, including traditional music. However, traditional music education, especially the Dambus musical instrument from Bangka Belitung, still tends to be theoretical and uninteresting for students. This study aims to describe the use of the TikTok platform through dambusgoesdigital content in teaching traditional Dambus music in SBdP lessons at SD Negeri 24 Pangkalpinang, as well as to evaluate students' responses to the use of this platform. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with teachers and students as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The results showed that the use of the TikTok platform through dambusgoesdigital content was effective as a medium for learning SBdP. The audio-visual content was able to attract students' attention, increase their interest in learning, and facilitate their understanding of the form, sound, and cultural value of the Dambus musical instrument. Students' responses to learning using TikTok showed higher enthusiasm and participation compared to conventional learning. Thus, the TikTok platform can be utilized as an innovative learning medium to support the preservation of traditional regional music in elementary schools, while still requiring the role of teachers in supervising and reinforcing the material.

Abstract

This study aims to map the development of research on mathematics education for children indexed in the Scopus database using a bibliometric analysis approach. Bibliometric methods are employed to evaluate the characteristics of scientific publications based on citation patterns, author productivity, institutional collaboration, and research topic trends in order to identify the direction of research development and dominant themes. The research data were obtained through a structured document selection process using specific keywords with limitations on publication year, social sciences subject area, article document type, and English language, resulting in 546 relevant documents. The analysis was conducted using the R Biblioshiny program to systematically process and visualize bibliographic data through Main Information analysis, publication trend analysis, word cloud, and keyword evolution. The results indicate that research on mathematics education for children has shown a significant and sustained growth from 1960 to 2025, with a sharp increase in publications since 2008 and a peak in 2025. This trend highlights the growing academic attention to mathematics education for children as a strategic field in supporting literacy and numeracy. The word cloud analysis reveals that research themes are dominated by cognitive, pedagogical, and psychological aspects, with a primary focus on mathematics learning, learner characteristics, and learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the keyword evolution analysis shows a shift from foundational studies toward more complex and multidimensional approaches involving affective factors, environmental influences, and pedagogical innovations. Overall, the findings suggest that although research on mathematics education for children has developed comprehensively, there remains significant potential for future research through the integration of deep learning approaches aligned with national education policy directions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of reward and punishment strategies in enhancing students' motivation to learn Arabic at MTs Al-Qodir Menemeng. This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore in-depth experiences and perceptions of teachers and students regarding the execution of these strategies. Data collection techniques included observation of learning activities, semi-structured interviews with Arabic teachers and students, and documentation related to learning programs and school policies. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify main patterns and themes associated with changes in students' learning motivation and behavior. The results indicate that the provision of rewards in the form of verbal praise, symbolic academic recognition, and simple material prizes based on academic achievement contributes positively to increased student participation, discipline, and self-confidence in Arabic learning. Meanwhile, educational and proportional punishments, such as additional academic assignments and parental involvement for severe violations, proved effective in curbing negative behavior without causing detrimental psychological impacts on students. These practices align with the principles of positive reinforcement and logical consequences in behavioristic theory, as well as the concepts of ta’dib and targhib wa al-tarhib in Islamic education. However, this study also found that students' learning motivation remains dominated by reward-oriented goals, resulting in intrinsic motivation and the appreciation of Arabic as a communicative skill not yet being optimally developed.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine how the implementation of audio-visual media influences students’ interest and participation in cultural arts learning, particularly traditional music material in Grade IV at MIN 1 Probolinggo. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. All fourth-grade students participating in cultural arts lessons were involved as the research subjects. The use of audio-visual media in the form of animations integrating sound and visual elements was proven to significantly enhance students’ learning interest, making them more enthusiastic, focused, and active, including in asking questions, engaging in discussions, and understanding traditional music material. The increase in students’ learning interest can also be illustrated through a developmental graph showing an upward trend from one meeting to the next. In addition, audio-visual media assists students in grasping traditional music concepts more concretely, including recognizing musical instruments, sounds, and regional songs. The findings conclude that audio-visual media plays an effective role in improving students’ interest, participation, and understanding in cultural arts learning. To support optimal implementation, it is recommended that supporting facilities be provided and that teachers’ competencies be enhanced through regular training. Future studies are expected to further explore the use of audio-visual media by considering the conditions of school facilities and infrastructure.
