Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ interest and learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education through the implementation of the Everyone Is a Teacher Here method in class XII Kumer 3 at SMAN 14 Maros. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, namely Cycle I and Cycle II, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 32 students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ interest and learning outcomes in each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, learning mastery was only 37.5% with an average score of 50.62. After the implementation of the method in Cycle I, mastery increased to 56.25%. Furthermore, in Cycle II, learning mastery significantly improved to 87.5% with an average score of 84.53. In addition, students demonstrated increased activeness, confidence, and participation in the learning process. Therefore, the Everyone Is a Teacher Here method is effective in improving students’ interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe: (1) students’ problem-solving skills after the implementation of the learning process, (2) the implementation of guided inquiry learning based on STEAM-ESD, and (3) students’ responses toward the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model based on STEAM-ESD. This research employed a quantitative approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class VIII F at SMP Negeri 2 Mojoagung. Data were collected through tests (pretest and posttest), observation sheets of learning implementation, and student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed by identifying the lowest problem-solving skill indicators of each student, calculating the percentage of students in each indicator, and determining the average score per indicator. The results showed an improvement in students’ problem-solving skills, as indicated by the average pretest score of 26.51 (low category) and the average posttest score of 84.08 (very high category). The implementation of learning in Meetings I, II, and III demonstrated that all stages of learning, including the introduction, core activities, and closing activities, were carried out very well, with a mode score of 4 in each meeting, categorized as very good. In addition, students’ responses toward the implementation of the guided inquiry model based on STEAM-ESD were very positive, with an average percentage of 92.08%. These findings indicate that the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model based on STEAM-ESD was effective in improving students’ problem-solving skills, as evidenced by the increase in the average score from the low category in the pretest to the very high category in the posttest, supported by very good learning implementation and highly positive student responses.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of technology in student data management at SDN 1 Rancabango, which has not yet been fully mastered by all school officials. Technological developments have a significant impact on student data management because they enable more efficient, accurate, and integrated processes and support data-driven decision-making to improve the quality of education. However, the implementation of technology in data management still faces various challenges, such as limited infrastructure, low competency of educators in utilizing technology, and issues of data security and privacy. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that optimizing technology utilization can be achieved through strengthening technological infrastructure, improving human resource competency through training, good data security management, and collaboration with the government and related parties. In addition, regular evaluation and feedback from technology users are also needed to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the system used. With a comprehensive approach and cooperation from all parties, the use of technology is expected to increase the effectiveness of student data management and support improvements in the quality of education. Therefore, it is recommended that schools continue to improve human resource competencies, strengthen technological infrastructure, and develop secure and integrated data management systems to support more effective and sustainable student data management.

Abstract

Misconceptions in dynamic electricity remain a common issue in physics learning due to the abstract and interrelated nature of its concepts. This study aimed to map the misconception profile of ninth-grade students on dynamic electricity using a three-tier diagnostic test based on the Guttman scale. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational diagnostic design. The sample consisted of 49 ninth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument included 15 items of a three-tier diagnostic test covering five sub-concepts: electric current, voltage, electric circuits, resistance, and Ohm’s law. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to determine the percentage of students’ response categories and Spearman’s rho correlation analysis to identify relationships among sub-concepts. The results showed that the highest level of misconception occurred in the voltage sub-concept (41%), followed by electric circuits (31.3%), resistance (22.9%), and Ohm’s law (22.2%), while the electric current sub-concept showed the lowest level of misconception (13.2%). Correlation analysis indicated significant positive relationships among several sub-concepts, particularly between voltage and electric circuits as well as resistance. These findings indicate that misconceptions in dynamic electricity are systemic and interrelated across sub-concepts. The use of a Guttman-scale-based three-tier diagnostic test proved effective in identifying misconceptions more accurately. Therefore, the results of this study can serve as an empirical basis for designing instructional strategies aimed at reconstructing students’ conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the discussion method in developing students’ critical thinking skills in social studies learning, to identify its strengths and weaknesses, and to explain its suitability with the characteristics of social studies instruction. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. The data were obtained from books, journal articles, and various scientific publications relevant to the discussion method, critical thinking, and social studies learning. Data were collected through documentation study and analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques by reviewing, comparing, and synthesizing information based on the research focus. The results show that the discussion method plays an important role in developing students’ critical thinking skills as it encourages active participation, the ability to express opinions, respond to others’ viewpoints, and construct logical arguments. This method also has advantages in enhancing creativity, communication skills, collaboration, and learning motivation. However, its implementation faces several limitations, such as requiring more time, uneven student participation, and dependence on the teacher’s ability to manage the discussion effectively. Therefore, the discussion method can be considered a relevant instructional strategy to support the development of students’ critical thinking skills in social studies learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Pear Deck on students' critical thinking skills, as well as the learning implementation process and student responses. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a one-group pretest posttest design. The subjects of the study were students of class VII-B SMP Negeri 4 Surabaya in the 2025/2026 academic year. The instruments used were learning implementation observation sheets, critical thinking skills tests, and student response questionnaires. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, tests, and questionnaires, then analyzed using N-gain calculations to see the increase in critical thinking skills, average analysis on the Guttman scale, and mode analysis on the Likert scale. The results showed that learning with the PBL model was implemented very well with a percentage of 100%. Students' critical thinking skills increased with an average N-gain value of 0.77 which is included in the high category. In addition, students gave a positive response to the PBL model assisted by pear deck. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Pear Deck can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of students' descriptive text writing skills which are still relatively low. This occurs because (1) students have difficulty in expressing ideas and concepts in writing descriptive texts, (2) students have not been able to describe objects in detail and concretely according to their characteristics (3) writing is not in accordance with the correct structure (4) writing EYD is not yet correct, (5) word choice is less appropriate and still limited. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement in the results of descriptive text writing skills using the guide writing learning method in class IV SDN 2 Sijunjung Sijunjung Regency. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The subjects of this study were teachers and students in class IV SDN 2 Sijunjung Sijunjung Regency totaling 23 people. The results of this study show an improvement in: (1) the suitability of the contents of the descriptive essay to the topic, (2) structure, (3) word choice, (4) object details, (5) mechanics. Based on the research results, each indicator assessment in cycles I and II has increased after the implementation of the guide writing learning method in grade IV of SDN 2 Sijunjung, Sijunjung Regency. Therefore, it can be concluded that the guide wrsiting learning method can improve the descriptive text writing skills of grade IV in elementary schools.

Abstract

The dynamics of the construction industry development require Vocational High School (SMK) graduates to have competencies relevant to the needs of the job market. This study aims to identify the level of competency needs in the industry, map the realization of teaching in schools, and analyze the suitability (gap) of work competencies of the Design of Building Modeling and Information (DPIB) graduates of SMK Negeri 1 Glagah. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method. The population and sample involved 30 alumni working in the construction industry and 30 twelfth-grade DPIB students. The data collection instrument used a Guttman-scale questionnaire. The results showed that basic and conventional competencies have been realized very well in schools and are in accordance with industry needs. However, there is a significant discrepancy (undersupply) in the mastery of state-of-the-art technology. The largest negative gap occurred in the operation of Total Station (-50.0%), BIM Modeling Revit (-46.7%), and Digital Data Processing / Mapping Software (-36.6%). Conversely, there is a very high oversupply in the Manual Drawing competency (+66.7%). Based on hypothesis testing using Chi-Square, 15 competencies were declared a match, while 8 crucial competencies experienced significant gaps. In conclusion, there is a sharp competency disparity between the learning achievements in schools and the digital transition required by the current construction industry.

Abstract

Low motivation of students to study Social Sciences (IPS) in elementary school is still a problem that has an impact on student engagement and learning outcomes. This condition is generally related to the dominance of the use of teacher-centered learning approaches that limit students' active participation in the learning process. Therefore, this article aims to comprehensively examine the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model as an effort to increase student learning motivation, especially in the material of human interaction with the environment in grade IV of elementary school. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study method by examining various relevant national and international scientific articles in the range of 2022–2026. The data was analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques by synthesizing the main findings related to learning motivation, social studies learning characteristics, and the implementation of the TPS model. The results of the study show that the TPS model has a significant role in increasing student learning motivation which is characterized by increased participation, involvement, and courage in expressing opinions. The thinking, pairing, and sharing stages encourage students' active engagement and facilitate the association of material with real-life contexts, especially in understanding human interaction with the environment. In addition, the implementation of TPS also contributes to improving students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and social skills. The study emphasizes the importance of implementing an interactive, student-centered learning model, and recommends further empirically-based research to test the effectiveness of TPS models in a more contextual way in elementary school settings.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of independence and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Kanisius Gamping Elementary School in the 2025/2026 academic year. These conditions were identified through observation, interviews, and questionnaires completed by fourth-grade students at Kanisius Gamping Elementary School. This study aims to improve the independence and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Kanisius Gamping Elementary School through the application of a contextual approach. This research is a classroom action research (CAR). The research subjects are fourth-grade students at Kanisius Gamping Elementary School in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research uses data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and learning outcome tests. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The results of the study show that: 1) The application of a contextual approach through the components of constructivism, inquiry, learning community, questioning, modeling, reflection, and authentic assessment was able to improve students' independence and learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila; 2) The application of the contextual approach was able to improve students' independent attitudes, with an average initial score of 48.78, increasing to 60.24 in cycle I, and increasing in cycle II to 78.71; 3) The application of a contextual approach can improve student learning outcomes, as seen in the average initial score of 59.07 with a mastery level of 28.57%, increasing to 65.71 with a mastery level of 50.00% in cycle I, and increasing to 82.61 with a mastery level of 85.71% in cycle II; 4) The contextual approach was effective in improving students' independent attitudes and learning outcomes, as indicated by an N-Gain Score for independent attitudes of 0.5 in the “moderate” category with an effectiveness percentage of 59% and in the “quite effective” category. In addition, the improvement in student learning outcomes is shown by an N-Gain Score of 0.6 in the “moderate” category with an effectiveness percentage of 63% and in the “quite effective” category.
