Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

The use of technology in the field of education is very important. One AI tool that is often used is ChatGPT. The descriptive qualitative approach involves in-depth interviews with 5 students from different study program backgrounds. The purpose of this study is to investigate students' perceptions regarding the use of AI (Chat GPT) in doing college assignments and to find out how effective this tool is in understanding the material, as well as its impact on students' independent learning. The results obtained show that students consider Chat GPT as an effective means for completing college assignments and supporting the understanding of the material learned in class. However, if Chat GPT is misused and if dependence develops, it can have negative impacts on them, namely, a decrease in critical thinking skills and potential exposure to plagiarism. Therefore, every answer they get from ChatGPT is not taken literally but is first paraphrased before being included in their college assignments. Keywords: Student perception, Use of AI (Chat GPT), Doing Assignments. ABSTRAK Penggunaan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan sangatlah penting. Salah satu tools AI yang sering digunakan Adalah chat GPT. Pendekatan kualitatif desktriptif melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan 5 orang mahasiswa dengan latar belakang program studi yang berbeda. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menyelidiki persepsi mahasiswa mengenai penggunaan AI (chat GPT) dalam mengerjakan tugas kuliah dan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif tools ini memahami materi serta pengaruhnya terhadap kemandirian belajar mahasiswa. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa para mahasiswa menganggap Chat GPT sebagai sarana yang efektif untuk penyelesaian tugas kuliah serta mendukung pemahaman akan materi yang telah didapatkan dalam kelas. Namun bila menyalahgunakan chat GPT dan bila sudah ketergatungan bisa berdampak tidak baik bagi mereka yaitu menurunnya kemampuan untuk berpikir kritis serta bisa terkena plagiarisme. Oleh sebab itu setiap jawaban yang mereka dapat dari chat GPT, tidak mentah-mentah diambil tetapi di parafrase terlebih dahulu untuk dimasukkan ke dalam tugas kuliah mereka.

This study aims to analyze the scientific literacy profile of junior high school students in Sidoarjo based on PISA 2025 indicators. Scientific literacy is an essential competency for understanding and applying science in daily life, yet students’ literacy levels in Indonesia remain low. This research used a quantitative descriptive survey design. The instrument was adapted from the PISA 2025 framework, consisting of 9 multiple-choice questions covering three indicators: explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific inquiry, and interpreting data for decision-making. The sample involved 30 seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Krian, Sidoarjo. Data were analyzed using percentage calculations and categorized into criteria levels. The results showed that overall scientific literacy was in the low category (50%). The highest score was on explaining scientific phenomena (69%, high), while the lowest was on using scientific information for decision-making (39%, very low). These findings indicate the need for innovative, contextual, and student-centered learning strategies.

This study discusses the implementation of character education values among mosque youth in the iftar (breaking the fast) gathering at Nurul Hakim Mosque in Bangun Village, South Buton Regency. This activity is not only understood as a routine event during the month of Ramadan, but also as a means of character development through social interaction and structured religious activities. The purpose of this study is to determine how character education values are applied in the iftar activities organized by the mosque youth. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with the mosque advisor and youth members as the research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the iftar gathering serves as a medium for youth character building, with the implemented values including religiosity, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, togetherness, and social concern, which are reflected in the stages of planning, task distribution, implementation, and evaluation of the activity. This activity makes a positive contribution to shaping youth with good morals and social awareness.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of short story writing learning using Storywheel and Digital Diary media and to see the improvement in student learning outcomes after the application of both media. The study used a quantitative method with a quasi experiment design, with analysis in the form of normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The results of the N-Gain calculation show that Storywheel media obtained an average score of 0.55 with an N-Gain percent of 55.06%, which is included in the moderate category; while Digital Diary obtained an average score of 0.55 with an N-Gain percent of 54.80%, also in the moderate category towards less effective. The results of the paired sample t-test in both classes showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, while the independent sample t-test showed that there was no significant difference in effectiveness between the use of the two media. Overall, this study concludes that Storywheel and Digital Diary are able to improve students' short story writing skills at a moderate level, although their effectiveness has not yet reached the high category. This study aims to analyze the transformation of horror stories from conventional forms to participatory multimedia narrative experiences on YouTube, using a case study of the video titled "Shayangan Pulang" by Nadia Omara. The main focus is to identify the application of rhetorical elements, Storytelling techniques, and YouTube's role in supporting digital narratives. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was obtained through content analysis of verbal, visual, and audio elements, as well as audience reception in the comments section. The analysis was conducted using Aristotle's rhetorical framework (ethos, pathos, and logos) as well as the theories of digital Storytelling and media convergence. The research findings indicate that pathos is the most dominant element, manifested through gripping sound effects, vocal modulation, dramatic pauses, and a non-linear structure to evoke fear. Ethos & Logos credibility is built through a consistent narrator persona (ethos), while the logic of the storyline is maintained despite the supernatural theme (logos). The Role of YouTube: Interactivity features and participatory culture significantly strengthen the audience's emotional and social engagement. This research demonstrates that integrating classical rhetoric with digital techniques can create an immersive horror experience and enhance audience engagement in digital media.

Conventional teaching methods are often cited as the primary cause of low student engagement and limited understanding of Indonesia's ethnic diversity in elementary education. This study aims to investigate the potential and effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model in enhancing Social Studies (IPS) learning activities for Grade V students. Adopting a library research method, this study analyzes various academic references and previous research findings regarding PjBL implementation in elementary schools. The results indicate that the PjBL model, particularly through the creation of tangible products like the Indonesian Cultural Diversity Map, significantly boosts students' involvement, creativity, and critical thinking. Furthermore, project-based activities allow students to experience cultural pluralism firsthand, fostering a sense of patriotism and mutual respect. Thus, the PjBL model serves as a highly relevant alternative for improving the quality of Social Studies education in elementary schools.

This study aims to synthesize and characterize magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)₂) using the precipitation method. The experiment was conducted by reacting magnesium chloride (MgCl₂) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solutions under controlled laboratory conditions. The synthesis produced a white precipitate of Mg(OH)₂ with a mass of 1.60 grams after filtration, washing, and drying. Characterization included physical observation, solubility testing, and pH measurement. The results showed that Mg(OH)₂ is a white solid with low solubility in water but dissolves in hydrochloric acid (HCl) due to neutralization reactions. The measured pH was around 9, indicating that Mg(OH)₂ is a weak base. These findings are consistent with theoretical concepts of ionic compounds, solubility equilibrium, and precipitation reactions. Therefore, the precipitation method is effective for synthesizing Mg(OH)₂ and supports the relationship between theoretical and experimental understanding in inorganic chemistry.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services with a behavior approach using behavioral contract techniques in reducing money wasting behavior at the eighth grade students of Asy-Syifa Boarding School Sukoharjo in the academic year 2025/2026. Money wasting is the habit of spending money uncontrollably which has a negative impact on students' financial management. The research method used was an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 6 students who exhibited money wasting behavior, selected through purposive sampling. Group counseling services were provided over several sessions focusing on creating behavioral contracts as an effort for self-control. With a significance value of 0.027 < 0.05, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The results of data analysis using statistical tests showed a significant decrease in money wasting behavior after the group counseling intervention. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the mean between before and after the implementation of group counseling with behavioral contract techniques, which is effective in reducing money wasting behavior in grade VIII students of Asy-Syifa Boarding School Sukoharjo. These findings indicate that the behavior approach with behavioral contract techniques is effective in helping students manage their spending behavior more wisely. The implications of this research are expected to serve as an alternative strategy in school counseling services to increase students' awareness and control of financial behavior.

The development of information and communication technology, particularly the use of gadgets, has had a significant impact on the interpersonal communication skills of elementary school students. This study aims to examine the impact of gadget use on students' interpersonal communication skills through a library research approach using a descriptive-analytical method. Data was obtained from various secondary sources such as relevant scientific journals, books, and dissertations, then analyzed using a thematic approach. The results of the study indicate that gadget use has both positive and negative impacts on students' interpersonal communication. Positive impacts are seen in increased digital communication skills, the courage to express opinions, and the expansion of students' social insights through access to information and virtual interactions. However, excessive gadget use tends to decrease the quality of direct interpersonal communication, such as reduced face-to-face interaction, the emergence of individualistic attitudes, and low social sensitivity. Furthermore, long-term use is also associated with decreased social skills in students. Therefore, supervision and control of gadget use by parents and teachers are necessary to maintain balance. Wise use of gadgets is expected to support the optimal development of students' interpersonal communication amidst advances in digital technology.

Volleyball is a sport that involves a great deal of jumping and landing. These movements carry a relatively high risk of injury, particularly to the ankles. Improper landing techniques can cause loss of balance and increase the likelihood of injury among athletes. Based on observations of female volleyball athletes from the Cipalima Club in Merangin Regency, it was found that some athletes still employ poor landing techniques, such as insufficient knee bending upon landing, unstable body balance, and uneven body weight distribution. This study aims to analyze the biomechanics of landing and the risk of ankle injury among female volleyball athletes from the Cipalima Club in Merangin Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using a descriptive method. The subjects of this study are the female volleyball athletes of the Cipalima Club in Merangin Regency. Data collection was conducted through observation and measurement using several instruments, namely the Landing Error Scoring System (LESS) to assess landing technique errors, the Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) to measure dynamic balance, and the Ankle Injury Risk Index (AIRI) to determine the level of ankle injury risk among the athletes. The results of the study indicate that some athletes still make errors in their landing technique, characterized by insufficient knee flexibility, unstable body control, and suboptimal balance. These conditions indicate a potential risk of ankle injury. Athletes with better biomechanical landing techniques tend to have a lower risk of injury compared to those with poorer landing techniques. The conclusion of this study indicates that landing biomechanics plays a crucial role in minimizing the risk of sports injuries among female volleyball athletes. Therefore, training that emphasizes proper landing technique, improved balance, and strengthening of the lower extremity muscles is necessary to reduce the risk of injury among athletes.
