Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a Deep Learning approach on enhancing the reflective thinking skills of 5th-grade students on the topic of Light. The application of the PjBL model is expected to improve students' understanding of scientific concepts in Science (IPA) learning, as well as develop their reflective thinking skills. The Deep Learning approach used in this research emphasizes deep understanding, not just memorization, to encourage students to think critically and reflectively. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with an experimental design. The study involves two groups of students, namely the experimental group that applies the PjBL model with a Deep Learning approach and the control group that receives conventional learning. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to measure students' reflective thinking abilities, as well as questionnaires to assess students' responses to the implemented learning. The results of the study show that the application of the PjBL model with a Deep Learning approach significantly improves students' reflective thinking abilities, as evidenced by a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. This research contributes to the development of more active, creative, and reflective Science (IPA) learning and encourages the implementation of project-based learning to enhance the quality of education in elementary schools. Furthermore, the results of this study also highlight the importance of using the Deep Learning approach to improve the quality of understanding and high-level thinking skills among students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the process of internalizing character values in history learning at SMAN 1 Polokarto. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The data sources in the study consisted of teachers and students of SMAN 1 Polokarto. The results of the study show that the internalization of character values in SMAN 1 Polokarto is carried out in a planned and systematic manner, starting from the preparation of school policies to the implementation in the Teaching Module. Character values are explicitly integrated into learning objectives and internalized through a whole series of learning activities that include the opening, core, and closing stages. Teachers play an active role in choosing learning strategies and models that encourage students to think critically, be confident, dare to communicate, and be able to relate historical values to contemporary life. This internalization process is not partial, but is naturally integrated into the overall learning activities through interactive lecture methods, the use of audio-visual media, conducive classroom management, and teacher examples. In addition, the success of internalizing character values does not only depend on learning strategies alone, but also on the consistency of teachers in displaying attitudes and behaviors that reflect the values taught. Teacher role models are an important factor that indirectly shapes the character of students through observation and imitation in daily interactions in the classroom. Thus, history learning at SMAN 1 Polokarto does not only convey knowledge material, but also serves as a vehicle for meaningful and sustainable character formation for students. Abstract

This study examines philosophically the objectives of Islamic Religious Education from the perspectives of classical and contemporary Muslim scholars. Using a qualitative approach, this research applies library research and document analysis. The data were gathered from the works of Islamic education scholars and recent academic articles. The analysis was conducted through qualitative content analysis using ontological, epistemological, and axiological perspectives. The findings reveal that classical scholars emphasized moral formation, purification of the soul, closeness to Allah, and the integration of knowledge and practice as the main objectives of Islamic Religious Education. Contemporary scholars preserve these foundations while extending them toward the development of civilized, critical, adaptive, and socially responsible individuals who can respond to modern challenges. Philosophically, both perspectives are connected through the principles of tawhid and holistic human development, although they differ in contextual emphasis and practical orientation. This study highlights the importance of synthesizing the classical legacy and contemporary thought to formulate more holistic, contextual, and relevant objectives for Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low forehand stroke ability of students in table tennis, characterized by lack of ball control, inaccuracy of stroke direction, and weak eye-hand coordination. This study aims to determine the effect of ball feeling training on improving forehand stroke ability in MAN 1 Medan students. The method used is an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 20 students selected through a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is a forehand stroke ability test that covers aspects of accuracy, strength, and consistency. The results showed that the average pre-test score of 59.5 increased to 79.5 in the post-test with an increase of 20 points, and the results of the hypothesis test showed a calculated t value greater than the t table, indicating a significant effect. This finding is in line with the research of Alfarisi et al. (2022) which states that ball feeling training affects the accuracy of table tennis strokes, and is supported by the concept that ball control training has been shown to improve the accuracy and consistency of beginner players' strokes. Thus, feeling ball training is effective in improving ball control, motor coordination, consistency, and student confidence, making it an alternative method in physical education instruction

Abstract

This study explores the compliance of modern tropical house design in Malaysia with the Uniform Building By-Laws (UBBL) 1984, highlighting challenges arising from differences in construction regulations between Indonesia and Malaysia, despite both countries having similar tropical climates. The research focuses on a comparative evaluation of a prototype design, including building massing, natural lighting, and natural ventilation. The evaluation shows that the design meets structural requirements, with well-organized massing that does not exceed building setback limits. Although the lighting ratio in the master bedroom is slightly below the standard, this adjustment is intended to reduce heat gain in a tropical climate context. The ceiling height of 2.75 meters meets the minimum standard and supports thermal comfort. In conclusion, the modern tropical house design demonstrates architectural and legal feasibility for implementation in Malaysia, emphasizing the importance of harmonizing aesthetics with local regulatory compliance.
