Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ learning interest and its impact on mathematics learning difficulties in fifth-grade elementary school. Mathematics plays a crucial role in developing logical, critical, and systematic thinking skills; however, many students perceive it as a difficult and uninteresting subject. This perception often leads to low learning interest, which contributes to learning difficulties. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by examining various relevant journals and scientific articles. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed descriptively by identifying patterns and relationships between variables. The findings reveal that learning interest has a significant influence on students’ mathematics learning difficulties. Students with high learning interest tend to be more active, engaged, and capable of understanding mathematical concepts, while those with low interest often experience difficulties in comprehension and problem-solving. In addition, both internal factors (such as motivation and attitude) and external factors (such as family environment and teaching methods) also contribute to these difficulties. Therefore, increasing students’ learning interest is essential to reduce mathematics learning difficulties. Teachers are encouraged to implement innovative and engaging teaching strategies, while parents should provide supportive learning environments. In conclusion, learning interest is a key factor in improving students’ understanding and minimizing difficulties in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the role playing learning model on the tolerance attitude of fifth grade students in the Pancasila Education subject at the UPT SPF SD Inpres Baraya 1. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 23 students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and observations. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Wilcoxon hypothesis test. The results showed an average pretest score of 19.70 and an average posttest score of 29.35. A significance value of 0.001 <0.05 indicates that there is a significant influence of the role playing learning model on students' tolerance attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in-depth the practice of buying and selling clove trees with the condition of the right of return (bai' al-wafa) and assess its compliance with the principles of Islamic economic law in Dengeng-Dengeng Village, Pitu Riase District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The practice of bai' al-wafa is a form of transaction that has developed in society as a solution to urgent economic needs, but its implementation still raises debate among scholars because it has the potential to contain elements of gharar (uncertainty), usury, and injustice. Therefore, this study is important to conduct to provide an empirical description as well as a normative analysis of this practice. This study uses a qualitative method with a field research approach, which aims to understand the phenomenon contextually based on real conditions in society. Data collection techniques are carried out through direct observation of transaction practices, in-depth interviews with informants, and documentation as supporting data. The research subjects include clove farmers as sellers, buyers as fund providers, and religious leaders who have an understanding of Islamic law, especially muamalah fiqh. The data obtained were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical method, describing the facts that occurred in the field, then examining and interpreting them based on the concepts of muamalah jurisprudence and the provisions of Islamic economic law. This analysis focused on the clarity of the contract, fairness in the transaction, and the potential for elements prohibited by Islam. With this approach, the research is expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of the practice of bai' al-wafa and its implications for the application of Islamic economic principles in society.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is one of the basic literacy skills that elementary school students need to master. However, in reality, many students still have difficulty understanding the content of reading texts in depth. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the reading comprehension ability of elementary school students. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population was all fourth-grade students of SDN 09 Pontianak Timur totaling 56 students, consisting of 28 students in the experimental class and 28 students in the control class selected using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using independent t-test and N-Gain score. The results showed that the average pretest score of the experimental class was 52.14 and the control class was 51.07, while the average posttest score of the experimental class increased to 80.36 and the control class to 65.71. The N-Gain value of the experimental class was 0.59 in the moderate category, while the control class was 0.30 in the low category. The t-test results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model has a positive and significant effect on improving the reading comprehension ability of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the STIFIn concept in addressing learning barriers experienced by students at the Darul Faroh Islamic Boarding School in Batam City. The primary focus of this study is sleepiness, boredom, and low focus during the learning process. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 31 students mapped based on the Intelligence Engine (4 Sensing, 5 Thinking, 8 Intuiting, 9 Feeling, and 5 Instinct). Data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews to explore the effectiveness of this genetic-based intervention. The results showed that implementing learning strategies aligned with the students' intelligence types significantly minimized learning barriers. The Feeling and Intuiting groups, as the dominant groups, showed increased enthusiasm after receiving emotional appreciation and the use of visual media. This study concludes that the STIFIn concept is an effective tool for educators at Islamic boarding schools in identifying and addressing psychological barriers to learning in a personalized and targeted manner.

Abstract

The phenomenon of street children working as buskers in the Pantai Purus tourist area, Padang City, is a crucial issue related to violations of children's rights and the risk of violence. This research aims to evaluate the forms of violence experienced by street busker children and the protection efforts carried out by related parties. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research results show that child street buskers are vulnerable to physical, verbal violence, and economic exploitation from both the street environment and family economic pressure. Protection efforts carried out include intervention from the Social Service through coaching and rehabilitation programs, but are still constrained by family resistance and social environment factors. In conclusion, more intensive collaboration is needed between the government, community and families to guarantee children's safety and education rights.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low descriptive text writing skills of students. The problems found were that students had difficulty organizing writing outlines, as well as improper use of vocabulary and punctuation. The purpose of this study was to describe the planning, implementation, and improvement of descriptive text writing skills through the application of the Think Talk Write model. This study used a mixed-method approach, namely qualitative and quantitative, with the type of Classroom Action Research. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects consisted of 30 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and assessment of students’ writing results, and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the teaching module in cycle I obtained an average of 87.49%, increasing in cycle II to 100%. The implementation of learning in the teacher aspect in cycle I obtained an average of 88.99%, increasing in cycle II to 96.42%. The student aspect in cycle I obtained an average of 87.49%, increasing in cycle II to 96.42%. Students’ writing skills in cycle I obtained an average of 66.16, increasing in cycle II to 83.74%. Students’ knowledge assessment in cycle I obtained an average of 70.33%, increasing in cycle II to 88%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write model can improve students’ writing skills outcomes in Indonesian language learning in grade V of SDN 20 Kurao Pagang, Nanggalo District, Padang City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the narratological structure of Yandy Laurens' film "Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan" (The Wife of the Future), using Gerard Genette's narratological theory. This research is motivated by the complexity of the film's timeline, which features temporal deviations and diverse narrative perspectives, particularly through the character Sore's experience of repeating time to change Jonathan's fate in the future. The issues examined include the forms of time deviation (Narrative Time) and temporal data, namely: (Order), (Analepsis and Prolepsis), (Duration), (Frequency) of repeated events, and (Focalization of Mood) and the film's point of view. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data were obtained through observation and note-taking techniques of scenes and dialogue in the film "Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan." Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the Narrative Time analysis (temporary data) in the film consisted of 36 data points divided into three main categories. The 20 data items, "Order" (time sequence), demonstrate the dominant use of analepsis (flashback), prolepsis (flashforward), and a combination of both in constructing the storyline. The "Duration" (time duration) (13 data items) illustrates variations in the presentation of time through scenes, summaries, ellipsis, and pauses. The "Frequency" (repeated events) (3 data items) indicates the repetition of events through singulative, repetitive, and iterative forms. Meanwhile, the "Focalization of Mood" (point of view) (6 data items) demonstrates the narrative perspective through zero, internal, and external focalization. Primary data from the film were analyzed through a literature review and Genette's narrative approach, with theoretical benefits enriching narratological studies. It can be concluded that the narrative structure in this film is constructed through complex narrative time deviations and points of view, which not only reinforce the story's conflict but also emphasize the character Sore's efforts to change the future through the choices he makes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila di kelas IV MI Muhammadiyah Pannampu akibat penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media infografis berbasis Canva terhadap minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis pre-eksperimental melalui desain one group pretest-posttest dengan subjek sebanyak 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan observasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor minat belajar siswa meningkat dari 37,52 pada pretest menjadi 43,72 pada posttest, dengan nilai signifikansi (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) < 0,05 yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan media infografis berbasis Canva yang difokuskan pada peningkatan minat belajar dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila di tingkat sekolah dasar. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media infografis berbasis Canva berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on students’ conceptual understanding of integrated science and social studies (IPAS) and their learning styles in fourth-grade students at SDN 011 Bukit Gajah. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 50 students divided into an experimental group and a control group selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using multiple-choice tests to measure conceptual understanding and questionnaires to identify students’ learning styles. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis through an independent sample t-test with SPSS. The results showed that the CTL model had a positive and significant effect on students’ conceptual understanding of IPAS, indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount > ttable. Furthermore, the CTL model also significantly influenced students’ learning styles. These findings indicate that contextual learning enhances student engagement, accommodates diverse learning styles, and facilitates meaningful understanding by connecting learning materials to real-life contexts.
