Abstract

The implementation of an effective learning model is determined not only by planning but also by the execution of the learning process in the classroom. This study was conducted to describe the implementation of a guided inquiry learning model based on performance assessment for the topic of vibrations and waves. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a sample of 28 eighth-grade students from Class VIII-A. Data were collected through learning implementation observation sheets evaluated by three observers as the learning process unfolded, and were subsequently analyzed in the form of percentages. The results indicated that the implementation of the learning process fell into the “very good” category, with a percentage of 91.67% for the vibrations topic and increased to 100% for the waves topic. All learning syntaxes could be implemented in accordance with the stages of guided inquiry learning, although in the initial session there was a time constraint on one of the sub-syntaxes. Overall, the optimal implementation indicates that the integration of performance assessment into the guided inquiry learning model is capable of supporting focused learning and actively involving students in every stage of the learning process

Abstract

The low level of cooperation skills in early childhood has become a significant issue as it affects children's social-emotional development and their readiness to interact in learning environments. Therefore, learning approaches that can actively and meaningfully stimulate cooperation are needed. This study aims to improve the cooperation skills of children aged 5–6 years through project-based learning in the Sedekah Rame traditional activity at TK Az-Zahra, Lahat Regency. Sedekah Rame is a cultural tradition of the Lahat community carried out as a form of gratitude by farmers for their harvest, implemented through mutual cooperation, and containing values of togetherness, responsibility, and cooperation that are relevant for early childhood learning. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in two cycles using a collaborative approach between the researcher and the classroom teacher. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, with indicators of cooperation skills consisting of participation, sharing, rule compliance, task implementation, responsibility, and helping one another. The project-based learning was implemented through the stages of identifying real problems, information gathering, planning, implementation, reflection, evaluation, and publication. The results showed an improvement in children's cooperation skills in each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, the average cooperation ability was 48.89% (Beginning to Develop category), which increased to 65.67% (Developing as Expected) in Cycle I, and further improved to 83.33% (Very Well Developed) in Cycle II. Thus, project-based learning through the Sedekah Rame tradition has been proven effective in improving early childhood cooperation skills while providing contextual and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

The school environment plays a strategic role in supporting the learning process and fostering students’ creativity, particularly at the elementary education level. In response to the demands of 21st-century education, creativity has become a key competency that must be developed through a supportive learning environment, encompassing both physical and non-physical aspects. However, empirical evidence indicates that many schools have not yet optimally utilized the school environment as a learning resource. This study aims to examine the role of the school environment in enhancing students’ creativity at SDN Regol 7 Kiansantang. A qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, and data credibility was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that a well-maintained and effectively utilized school environment contributes to increased student engagement, learning motivation, and creativity. The integration of indoor and outdoor learning spaces, including classrooms, libraries, greenhouses, and schoolyards, provides authentic and meaningful learning experiences. Nevertheless, the implementation of environment-based learning requires careful instructional planning and effective classroom management to maintain focused and structured learning activities. Overall, the study concludes that a conducive school environment has a positive impact on the development of students’ creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze disruptive behavior in fifth-grade Indonesian language learning at SDN Sepulu 1. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the forms of disruptive behavior that appear include talking without permission, disturbing friends, not doing assignments, entering and leaving the class without permission, and making distracting sounds or movements. Factors that influence this behavior consist of internal factors (lack of self-control, low interest in learning, and the need for attention), external factors (less varied learning methods, teacher assertiveness, and peer influence), and family factors (minimal supervision and inappropriate parenting). Teacher strategies in dealing with disruptive behavior include the application of consistent class rules, direct reprimands, personal approaches, positive reinforcement, the use of varied learning methods, and cooperation with parents. This study concludes that disruptive behavior is the result of the interaction of various factors, but can be minimized through appropriate learning strategies and collaboration between teachers and parents, thereby creating a conducive learning environment and supporting the development of positive student behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to identify low Indonesian language proficiency among fifth-grade students of Banyior 2 Elementary School. Indonesian is crucial for communication and education at the elementary school level. However, field observations indicate that students struggle with listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Information was collected through observation, interviews, and diagnostic assessments, and assessed using an interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results indicate that both internal factors (such as lack of motivation, minimal interest, and inappropriate learning methods) and external factors (such as the prevalence of lecture-based teaching, inadequate learning resources, lack of social support, and inadequate parental involvement) contribute to poor language proficiency. These findings emphasize the importance of engaging teaching methods, the use of creative learning resources, and a supportive learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a website-based learning medium on Pancasila Values using Google Sites for fifth-grade students at SDN 183 Pekanbaru, as well as to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed medium. This study was motivated by the continued use of conventional learning media, which tends to make learning monotonous and less interactive. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) employing the ADDIE model, limited to the development stage. The research subjects consisted of 3 students and 4 teachers in the one-to-one pilot test and 11 students in the small-group pilot test. The learning media included Pancasila values content, contextual videos, interactive quizzes based on Wordwall, and learning assessments. Expert validation results indicate that the media falls into the “highly feasible” category, with a 87.5% rating from design experts, 89.6% from content experts, and 87.5% from language experts. The one-on-one pilot test yielded a 95% rating in the “highly practical” category, while the small-group pilot test achieved a 93.86% rating in the “highly practical” category. The N-gain calculation result of 0.65 indicates that the media is quite effective in improving student learning outcomes. Thus, the website-based learning media using Google Sites is deemed highly suitable, highly practical, and quite effective for use in fifth-grade elementary school instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Game Based Learning (GBL) model in improving students' creative thinking skills in children's story material at SDN Kuta Pasie. The background of this study is based on the low level of student engagement and creative thinking skills in Indonesian language learning, which is still dominated by conventional methods. This condition causes students to be less active, less enthusiastic, and have difficulty understanding and developing ideas creatively. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of this study were third-grade students of SDN Kuta Pasie. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus of the study includes the implementation process of GBL, student activities during learning, and students' creative thinking abilities after participating in the learning process. The results show that the implementation of Game Based Learning can create a more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Students become more active in learning, more confident in expressing opinions, and able to develop creative ideas in composing children's stories. In addition, creative thinking indicators such as fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration have improved. Supporting factors include interesting learning media and active student participation, while inhibiting factors include limited time and student readiness. In conclusion, the implementation of Game Based Learning is effective in improving students' creative thinking skills in children's story material in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of non-formal Islamic education in mitigating social conflict within a pluralistic community in Balongtunjung Village, Gresik Regency. The background of this study is rooted in the high potential for social friction within a heterogeneous community, which necessitates a values-based preventive approach. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to deeply understand the naturalistic social-religious dynamics at play. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of religious figures and community members involved in religious activities. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the findings. The results of the study indicate that non-formal Islamic education, through Friday sermons, majelis taklim, and religious study sessions, serves as an effective social mechanism in mitigating potential conflicts and strengthening social cohesion. From a conflict theory perspective, these practices function as a safety valve that prevents the escalation of open conflict. Meanwhile, within the framework of social capital, non-formal education contributes to building trust, social networks, and reciprocal norms that support the creation of social harmony. These findings confirm that non-formal Islamic education serves not only as a means of transmitting religious values, but also as a strategic instrument in building sustainable community-based peace.
