Abstract

This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in social studies learning caused by the use of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by YouTube audio-visual media on the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDI Parangkangtisang, Gowa Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental type and a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 19 students. Data collection techniques used tests and observations, while data analysis included descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of the learning model. Teacher and student activity during learning increased at each meeting, indicating that the learning process was running well. The results of the data analysis showed a significant difference between the results before and after the treatment, and the level of improvement was categorized as high. This proves that the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by YouTube audio-visual media is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. The conclusion of this study indicates that the implementation of the problem-based learning model supported by audio-visual media can optimally improve the quality of learning and student engagement.

Abstract

The Indonesian education system has undergone 11 curriculum changes since independence. SMAN 3 Palangka Raya, a school that has implemented the Merdeka curriculum, has been implementing it. The impact of implementing this curriculum on Islamic religious education subjects is that teachers are not fully familiar with the Merdeka curriculum, which has impacted learning methods. The study used a qualitative and field research approach. The purpose of the study was to describe and analyze the learning process, problems, and efforts to overcome them in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMAN 3 Palangka Raya. The study revealed that the Merdeka curriculum has been implemented since the 2021/2022 academic year, with an emphasis on student-centered intracurricular activities through interactive methods such as discussions, presentations, group projects, and direct worship practices. The approach integrates the development of the Pancasila Student Profile through real-world problem-based projects, as well as teacher flexibility in selecting contextual teaching materials tailored to students' backgrounds. Islamic religious education teachers face problems such as low student motivation and learning awareness due to diverse characteristics, high absenteeism, limited infrastructure, increasing administrative burdens, and difficulties in authentic assessment of attitudes and skills. These factors complicate innovative learning strategies that require active student participation. Solutions include intensive outreach and time allocation coordination, teacher training through workshops, gradual infrastructure improvements using BOS funds and local materials, parental involvement through counseling, development of assessment instruments, and student mapping for a differentiated approach. These steps enhance the effectiveness of the Independent Curriculum in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Based on the results of the author's observations, the Darul Arifin Jambi PONPES Darul Arifin Jambi athlete is suspected to still have aerobic endurance (VO2max) that is not optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) training method on increasing athletes' VO2max. The study used an experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design on 10 athletes selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through VO2max tests before and after HIIT training treatments. Data were analyzed using normality test and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the average VO2max increased from 46.4 to 48.5 with a difference of 2.11. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of p < 0.001 (< 0.05), so that there was a significant influence of the HIIT training method on the increase in VO2max of Tarung Derajat athletes of PONPES Darul Arifin Jambi. Thus, the HIIT method can be used as an alternative to exercise to improve the aerobic endurance of athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the numeracy literacy skills of third-grade students in solving contextual mathematical problems at SDN Sukagalih 1. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method. The subjects consisted of 20 third-grade students. The instrument used was a numeracy literacy test consisting of multiple-choice and short-answer questions based on real-life contexts. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. The results showed that the average numeracy literacy score was 59.95%, which falls into the moderate category. The distribution indicated that 45% of students were in the high category, 25% in the moderate category, and 30% in the low category. These findings suggest that students' numeracy literacy skills are not yet optimal, particularly in solving multi-step and contextual problems. Therefore, improvements are needed through contextual and problem-based learning approaches.

Abstract

The flash flood disaster in Dadok Tunggul Hitam Village has placed the effectiveness of public leadership at a critical juncture, where moral integrity and accountability are vital instruments in the management of social assistance. This study aims to analyze the implementation of ethical leadership styles, evaluate the decision-making process in maintaining transparency, and measure the level of public accountability in the distribution of post-disaster social assistance. Using qualitative methods with a case study approach, this research explores how local leaders integrate the values of honesty and justice amidst the pressures of emergency situations. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants such as the village head, village officials, volunteers, and affected communities, supported by participant observation and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine students’ learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Active Learning Card Sort method, as well as the improvement of science learning outcomes of sixth grade students at SDN 8 Kalimbaung. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental research type using a Pre-Experimental Design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of this study were all 23 sixth grade students. Data collection techniques were conducted through learning outcome tests in the form of pretest and posttest, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the N-Gain test. The results showed that students’ learning outcomes before the implementation of the Active Learning Card Sort method were still categorized as low, with an average pretest score of 49.17 and all students had not achieved learning mastery. After the implementation of the Active Learning Card Sort method, the average posttest score increased to 85.74 and all students achieved learning mastery. The N-Gain test result obtained an average score of 0.7114, which was categorized as high. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Active Learning Card Sort method was able to improve students’ learning outcomes in science subjects for sixth grade students at SDN 8 Kalimbaung.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum encourages student-centered, meaningful learning by applying deep and differentiated learning. Yet, adopting these two approaches continues to face significant challenges, particularly regarding teachers' preparedness and understanding when using them in class. This study seeks to investigate the implementation of deep learning and differentiated learning in the Merdeka Curriculum, including their role in attaining meaningful learning outcomes. It adopts a qualitative approach through a literature review (library research). Data were collected by searching diverse relevant scholarly sources and examined through content analysis techniques. The research results indicate that deep learning helps bolster conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and active student involvement, whereas differentiated learning provides customized learning opportunities based on students' needs, interests, and traits. Even though its rollout hasn't hit peak effectiveness, these approaches mutually reinforce each other to advance learning that's more vibrant, flexible, and profound in significance.

Abstract

A person's desire to purchase goods or services impulsively and without reason is known as consumptive behavior. This behavior is usually driven by the need for pleasure and social recognition. The purpose of this study was to investigate how consumer behavior in students of MAN 1 Mojokerto is associated with self-control and peer acceptance. The correlational method was used, and product moment statistical analysis was used. The study involved 243 students from grades 10 and 11 selected using a probability sampling method with a 5% error significance level. The scales used included consumptive behavior, self-control, and peer conformity scales. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between consumptive behavior, self-control, and peer conformity in students of MAN 1 Mojokerto. This finding confirms that low Self-Control accompanied by high Peer Conformity increases the tendency for Consumptive Behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyzes the effectiveness of integrating traditional games in primary and secondary school learning based on recent research. A systematic literature review (SLR) applied to 20 scientific articles from Sinta and Scopus-indexed journals published between 2020 and 2025. Findings consistently indicate that integrating traditional games significantly increases student learning motivation (average improvement of 25–40%), cognitive abilities, social skills, and numeracy literacy. Additionally, traditional games are proven effective in developing student character, preserving local culture, and supporting active learning. Key barriers include limited time, insufficient teacher training, and inadequate facilities. These findings underscore the importance of curricula that accommodate traditional games as a local-wisdom-based pedagogical strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mind mapping and students’ intrinsic motivation on learning outcomes in economics subjects at SMA Swasta Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study consisted of all tenth and eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Tamansiswa Pematangsiantar, totaling 362 students. The sample consisted of 133 students selected using cluster sampling techniques. Data collection techniques included observation, pre-test and post-test, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that simultaneously mind mapping and students’ intrinsic motivation had a significant effect on economics learning outcomes. This was proven by the F-test result with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Partially, students’ intrinsic motivation had a positive and significant effect on learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The results also showed a strong and positive relationship between intrinsic motivation and learning outcomes with a correlation coefficient value of 0.78. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.61 indicated that 61% of the variation in learning outcomes could be explained by mind mapping and students’ intrinsic motivation variables, while the remaining percentage was influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, it can be concluded that students’ intrinsic motivation plays an important role in improving economics learning outcomes, and the application of mind mapping supported by intrinsic motivation can help improve the quality of learning.
