Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This research is part of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program supervised by Ihwan Firmansyah. This study aims to determine the effect of using word card learning media on the motivation and learning outcomes of first-grade students at the UPTD SDN Polongan. The background of this research is based on the low motivation and learning outcomes of students in the Indonesian Language subject, so that innovations in learning media are needed that are more interesting, interactive, and in accordance with the characteristics of elementary school students. The method used in this research is quantitative research with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This design is used to see changes in student conditions before and after being given treatment in the form of using word card learning media. Data collection techniques are carried out through learning outcome tests and learning motivation questionnaires. Before being used, the research instrument was first tested for validity and reliability to ensure the instrument's feasibility in collecting research data. Data analysis was carried out using a normality test and a paired sample t-test to determine the level of significance of changes that occur after being given treatment. The results of the paired sample t-test on learning outcomes showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), so it can be concluded that the word card learning media has a significant effect on improving students' Indonesian language learning outcomes. In addition, the results of the paired sample t-test on learning motivation also obtained a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that the use of word cards has a positive effect on students' learning motivation in learning Indonesian. The results of this study prove that the use of interactive learning media, such as word cards, can help improve the motivation and learning outcomes of elementary school students, especially in the Indonesian language subject in lower grades.

This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Civic Education (PKn) teachers in instilling anti-bullying values among seventh-grade students of class VII C at SMP Negeri 3 Palakka. Bullying remains a recurring issue in school environments and negatively affects students’ character development and psychological well-being; therefore, the role of Civic Education teachers is essential in fostering moral, social, and humanitarian values to create a safe and respectful learning atmosphere. This research applied a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students directly. Data analysis was conducted in depth to describe the instructional strategies implemented in promoting anti-bullying values. The findings indicate that Civic Education teachers applied contextual learning strategies by integrating anti-bullying content into relevant learning topics, utilizing discussion and case study methods to enhance students’ critical awareness, and building positive emotional relationships to establish an open and inclusive classroom climate. In addition, teachers demonstrated positive behavior as role models through daily interactions at school. These strategies were proven to improve students’ understanding, empathy, and social responsibility in preventing bullying behavior. The study concludes that Civic Education learning strategies contribute not only to students’ cognitive development but also to affective and psychomotor domains in shaping anti-bullying character.

This study aims to determine the importance of professional teacher ethics in guiding and teaching children with special needs (Cerebral Palsy) in Special Schools. Professional teachers have the responsibility to provide fair, patient, and respectful educational services that honor the differences of each student. In the learning process, teachers do not only act as instructors, but also as mentors who are able to create a safe, comfortable learning environment that supports the development of students with special needs. Moreover, teachers must also be able to provide learning that suits the needs of children, especially children with cerebral palsy. Professional teacher ethics is reflected through the attitude of respecting students' rights, teachers who are able to communicate well with their students, as well as collaborating with parents in monitoring the growth and development of children and professionals such as therapists and others. The application of good ethics can help improve learning motivation, self-confidence, as well as the academic and social development of students. Thus, professional teacher ethics not only affects the learning success of students, but also contributes to the creation of an educational environment that respects the diverse learning needs of children and upholds humanitarian values.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran Big Book terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas III UPT SPF SD Negeri Mannuruki Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen menggunakan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang masing-masing berjumlah 28 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kemampuan membaca permulaan berupa pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 54,46 dan meningkat menjadi 84,71 pada posttest. Sementara itu, pada kelas kontrol nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 50,36 dan meningkat menjadi 80,36 pada posttest. Hasil analisis inferensial menggunakan uji Mann–Whitney menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media pembelajaran Big Book terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas III UPT SPF SD Negeri Mannuruki Kota Makassar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran Big Book mampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Oleh karena itu, media Big Book dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran yang efektif dan menyenangkan dalam pembelajaran membaca di sekolah dasar.

In the field of education, there is a growing trend of bullying behavior among early childhood students, which requires systematic intervention through the implementation of child-friendly school policies. TKN 23 Dodu in Bima City is the focus of this study because the school has been striving to implement various preventive strategies to create a safe, supportive, and violence-free learning environment. The objective of this study is to analyze the urgency of child-friendly school policies in preventing bullying incidents and to identify the forms of implementation and their impact on students’ social behavior. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data sources include teachers, the school principal, parents, and supporting documents related to the implementation of child-friendly school policies. Data collection methods included direct observation of learning activities, in-depth interviews, and a review of policy documents and children’s behavioral records. Data analysis utilized the Miles and Huberman model, which involves a continuous process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicate that the implementation of child-friendly schools has a significant impact on fostering a culture of positive interaction, strengthening children’s character, enhancing a sense of safety within the school environment, expediting conflict resolution, and promoting more intensive collaboration between teachers and parents. This policy has proven effective as a preventive strategy in minimizing the risk of bullying among young children, particularly at TKN 23 Dodu in Bima City.

This study aims to explore the existence of maharah kalam (Arabic speaking skills) in contemporary Arabic language learning at the Foreign Language Study Institute of Jalaluddin Arrumi Dormitory, Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School. The research focuses on identifying teaching strategies, learning media, student motivation, and obstacles encountered in developing Arabic speaking skills in both traditional and contemporary contexts. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 30 students and 4 Arabic teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal that maharah kalam remains an essential competency in contemporary Arabic learning despite challenges such as limited mastery of modern vocabulary, dialect differences, and lack of speaking practice outside the classroom. Teachers implemented adaptive strategies including repetitive speaking exercises, collaborative discussions, and interactive digital media, which significantly improved students’ speaking fluency, confidence, participation, and comprehension. In addition, students with strong intrinsic motivation and consistent independent practice demonstrated better communicative abilities and vocabulary mastery. The study concludes that the integration of traditional teaching methods with digital technology and contextual learning materials plays an important role in maintaining the relevance and sustainability of maharah kalam in contemporary Islamic boarding school education.

This study aims to analyze the role of empathy and caring in improving the quality of social interactions in modern society, characterized by digitalization, individualization, and changing communication patterns. This study uses a literature review method by reviewing ten national and international articles relevant to the themes of empathy, caring, prosocial behavior, and social interaction. The data collection process was carried out through article searches in various academic databases, followed by screening, eligibility selection, and content analysis. The analysis technique used was narrative synthesis to identify patterns, similarities, and differences in the findings of each study. The results show that empathy and caring have a significant influence on improving the quality of interpersonal relationships, strengthening social cohesion, and reducing social conflict, both in direct and digital interactions. Empathy has been shown to play a role as a basic ability to understand the emotional states of others, while caring encourages concrete actions in prosocial behavior. This study confirms that the development of social-emotional abilities is crucial for facing the increasingly complex dynamics of modern life.

This study aims to examine the effect of perceived fairness on taxpayer compliance with trust as a mediating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal associative research design. The population consists of individual taxpayers registered at the West Makassar Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama Makassar Barat) with a total of 999 active taxpayers in 2026. Purposive sampling was employed, resulting in 100 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression and the Sobel test with SPSS version 26. The results show that perceived fairness and trust have a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, with t-values of 4.588 and 6.126, respectively, exceeding the t-table value of 1.984 (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The Sobel test results indicate that trust mediates the effect of perceived fairness on taxpayer compliance, with a Sobel test statistic of 3.49 > 1.69 at the 5% significance level. These findings demonstrate that higher perceived fairness and stronger trust in the government lead to increased taxpayer compliance.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Deep Learning approach on student learning outcomes in the subject of Natural Sciences (IPAS) on the water cycle in grade IV of UPTD SD Negeri 122399 Jl. Mawar Pematangsiantar in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The background of this study is based on low student learning outcomes, lack of student activity in the learning process, and the use of learning methods that are still teacher-centered. The Deep Learning approach is applied to create meaningful, reflective, and enjoyable learning so that students are able to understand the concept in depth. This study uses a quantitative method with a pre-experimental research type and a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 28 grade IV students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and tests. The research instruments were pretest and posttest questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using normality tests, N-Gain tests, and hypothesis tests. The results showed that there was an effect of the Deep Learning approach on student learning outcomes in the subject of Natural Sciences. This was evidenced by the increase in students' average scores after being given treatment and the results of hypothesis tests that showed a significant effect. Thus, the Deep Learning approach can be used as an alternative learning approach to improve elementary school students' learning outcomes. Implementing this approach helps students engage in more active discussions, express their opinions, and connect learning material to everyday life. Therefore, teachers are advised to implement student-centered learning to improve quality in elementary schools.

This study aims to analyze effective strategies to overcome students' difficulties in answering Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions in Indonesian language learning. The main problem lies in students’ low ability in critical, analytical, and creative thinking when processing text-based information. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects were junior high school students who experienced difficulties in answering HOTS questions. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that students' difficulties are caused by a lack of conceptual understanding, limited exposure to HOTS-based questions, and learning methods that still emphasize memorization. Effective strategies to address these issues include implementing problem-based learning, utilizing interactive learning media, and providing varied and contextual HOTS exercises. In addition, the teacher’s role in providing scaffolding and feedback is crucial in improving students' higher-order thinking skills. The implementation of appropriate strategies can significantly enhance students' ability to answer HOTS questions in Indonesian language learning.
