Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that some students experience difficulties in social interaction. This is evident in their behavior of not greeting each other when passing each other, avoiding group activities due to discomfort and feeling confused when expressing opinions, and a tendency to isolate themselves. The purpose of this study was to describe: difficulties in social interaction, social anxiety, lack of interpersonal communication skills, feelings of inferiority or low self-esteem, social isolation, difficulties in social adaptation, and dependence on technology. This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method. The population of this study was 307 guidance and counseling students. The sampling technique used was random sampling, with 66 students. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire, and the data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the profile, 1). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' social anxiety is in the fairly high category, 2). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' lack of interpersonal communication skills is in the fairly high category. 3). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' feelings of inferiority or low self-esteem is in the fairly high category. 4). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' social isolation is in the fairly high category. 5). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' adaptation difficulties is in the fairly high category. 6). Difficulty in social interaction seen from the indicator of students' dependence on technology is in the fairly high category. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that students improve their social interaction difficulties

Abstract

The results of the study indicate that extracurricular dance activities are carried out through the stages of basic movement training, rhythmic accuracy, body expression training, and final performances. Supporting factors for this activity include teacher and parental support, adequate school facilities, and high student interest. Inhibiting factors include limited practice time and differences in each child's ability to follow the movements. The implications of this activity are seen in improving children's self-expression, such as increased self-confidence, nonverbal communication skills, courage to perform in public, movement creativity, and the ability to control body coordination, its validity using triangulation of sources, techniques, and time.

Abstract

The level of student concentration in elementary school learning can be categorized as lacking. This can be caused by various factors, both internal and external. Lack of concentration in learning significantly impacts students' absorption and understanding of the material being taught. In addition, student behavior during the learning process also greatly affects concentration in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause students' lack of concentration in learning. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive research type. The results show that students' concentration in learning is still considered lacking, this can be seen from the lack of optimal learning concentration indicators. Lack of student concentration in learning is caused by several factors, namely internal factors including interest, boredom, and negative perceptions held by each student. Meanwhile, external factors such as less than conducive environmental conditions can disrupt the concentration of other students, starting from students who talk, tease, and engage in activities outside of learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of the quality of evaluation instruments in accurately measuring students’ abilities, particularly multiple-choice items developed by students through project-based assignments. However, the instruments produced often have not undergone a comprehensive item analysis, so their validity and reliability cannot be assured. This study aims to analyze the quality of multiple-choice test items constructed by Economics Education students through a project-based simulation using the SPSS application. The method employed is a quantitative approach with a descriptive research design. The subjects of this study consisted of 35 students, while the research object comprised 20 test items on the topic of market failure. Data were collected through an online instrument trial and analyzed using tests of validity, reliability, difficulty level, discrimination index, and distractor effectiveness. The results showed that 75% of the items were valid and 25% were invalid. The reliability coefficient of 0.802 indicates a high category. The level of difficulty was dominated by easy items (80%) and moderate items (20%), with no difficult items identified. The discrimination index was mostly categorized as very good (65%), although some items were still in the fair and poor categories. The effectiveness of distractors varied, with some distractors not functioning optimally. Therefore, in general, the quality of the test items can be considered good; however, revisions are still needed to improve the balance of difficulty levels and the effectiveness of distractors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of good governance principles in realizing a Child-Friendly City in the City of Pekanbaru. The background of this research is based on the fact that there is still a gap between the achievement of the status of Child-Friendly City and the empirical conditions in the field, especially in the fulfillment of children's rights and protection. Therefore, good governance is needed as a foundation for the formulation and implementation of policies that are in the best interests of children. This research uses the theory of good governance according to Sedarmayanti (2004) which includes nine indicators, namely participation, rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, consensus orientation, justice, effectiveness and efficiency, accountability, and strategic vision.The research method used is a qualitative approach with the type of explanatory descriptive research. Data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques at related agencies that play a role in the implementation of the Child-Friendly City program in Pekanbaru City. The data obtained is then analyzed in depth to describe the conditions for the implementation of the principles of good governance and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation.The results of the study show that the application of good governance principles in realizing a Child-Friendly City in Pekanbaru City in general has been running, but it is not fully optimal. Several indicators such as participation, justice, and effectiveness have shown good implementation through cross-sector coordination and programs that support the fulfillment of children's rights. However, there are still obstacles in the form of limited resources, suboptimal coordination between agencies, and uneven involvement of the community and children in the policy-making process. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the principle of good governance in realizing a Child-Friendly City in Pekanbaru City requires strengthening the implementation aspect to be more effective, inclusive, and sustainable. This research is expected to contribute as an evaluation and recommendation material for local governments in improving the quality of governance oriented towards the fulfillment of children's rights and protection.

Abstract

The author's research was motivated by the lack of media integration in the teaching and learning process, particularly in science education, where teachers use textbooks and pedagogical models that are oriented towards educators. The research aimed to develop augmented reality media that is valid, practical, and effective in teaching fourth-grade elementary school students about plant parts and their functions. The research used Research and Development (R&D) through the use of the ADDIE development model, which includes five processes: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The author's study involved 26 fourth-grade students, covering both small and large scales. The method applied to collect data was a test questionnaire. The data analysis methodology used was qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. Practicality data was obtained from the results of student response questionnaires. The effectiveness data was obtained from the analysis of the pretest and posttest scores. The validation results from two media experts were both 90%, which is classified as “Highly Valid.” On the other hand, the validation results from two subject matter experts were 80% and 87.5%, respectively, which is classified as “Valid.” The average percentage of pretest and posttest questions reached 85%, which is classified as “Valid.” The practicality level of augmented reality learning media in the limited-scale product trial stage reached 100%, classified as “Very Practical.” Meanwhile, in the large-scale product trial stage.

Abstract

Interest in learning serves as a pivotal psychological driver for achieving scientific literacy in primary education. Despite its importance, empirical evidence suggests that students frequently regard Natural Sciences (IPA) as an intricate and theoretical discipline. This research employs a descriptive qualitative literature review to explore the strategic influence of teachers in enhancing students' engagement with science. The findings underscore that teachers act as critical determinants by assuming multifaceted roles as instructional architects, motivators, facilitators, technological innovators, and evaluators. Through the synergy of these functions, educators can reshape negative student attitudes by fostering inclusive environments and utilizing tangible instructional tools. Ultimately, this study asserts that the professional ingenuity of teachers in delivering pedagogical stimuli is essential for establishing a robust scientific foundation for the next generation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of integrating interactive e-comics based on Nusantara culture in improving cultural literacy among elementary school students. The background of this study is the low level of students’ cultural literacy caused by the lack of contextual integration of cultural values and the limited use of innovative learning media. This research employs a literature review method by examining relevant scientific sources using descriptive qualitative analysis through data collection, classification, and synthesis. The findings indicate that interactive e-comics integrating visual elements, narratives, and local cultural values have significant effectiveness in improving students’ literacy, including reading comprehension and cultural literacy. Furthermore, this medium creates more contextual, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences, which enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and critical thinking skills. The integration of cultural values also contributes to strengthening students’ character and cultural awareness. Therefore, interactive e-comics based on Nusantara culture can be considered an effective and strategic learning innovation to support 21st-century education. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran integrasi e-comic interaktif berbasis budaya Nusantara dalam meningkatkan literasi budaya peserta didik sekolah dasar. Permasalahan yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah rendahnya literasi budaya siswa yang disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang belum mengintegrasikan nilai budaya secara kontekstual serta terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan menelaah berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan melalui proses pengumpulan, pengelompokan, dan analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan e-comic interaktif yang menggabungkan unsur visual, narasi, dan nilai kearifan lokal memiliki efektivitas yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa, baik dalam aspek membaca, pemahaman, maupun literasi budaya. Selain itu, media ini mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual, menarik, dan bermakna, sehingga meningkatkan motivasi, keterlibatan, serta kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Integrasi nilai budaya dalam e-comic juga berkontribusi dalam memperkuat karakter dan kesadaran budaya peserta didik. Dengan demikian, e-comic interaktif berbasis budaya Nusantara dapat menjadi inovasi media pembelajaran yang efektif dan strategis dalam mendukung pembelajaran abad ke-21.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) teaching materials based on culture and local wisdom in South Sumatra in improving elementary school students' literacy. The study used a qualitative approach with a literature study method on various existing scientific publications. Data were obtained from accredited journals, proceedings, and relevant scientific articles, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that local wisdom-based teaching materials can increase students' interest in reading, comprehension of reading content, and critical thinking skills. In addition, contextual teaching materials also increase student engagement and help connect learning materials to real life. In the context of South Sumatra, the utilization of local cultural potential such as traditions, river environments, and community social systems has proven relevant as a learning resource. However, the use of local wisdom in teaching materials is still not optimal in some schools. Therefore, the development of culture- and local wisdom-based teaching materials needs to be continuously improved as an effective and contextual learning strategy to improve elementary school students' literacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran bahan ajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) berbasis budaya dan kearifan lokal Sumatera Selatan dalam meningkatkan literasi siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur terhadap berbagai publikasi ilmiah yang ada. Data diperoleh dari jurnal terakreditasi, prosiding, dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal mampu meningkatkan minat baca, pemahaman isi bacaan, serta kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Selain itu, bahan ajar yang kontekstual juga meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan membantu mengaitkan materi pembelajaran dengan kehidupan nyata. Dalam konteks Sumatera Selatan, pemanfaatan potensi budaya lokal seperti tradisi, lingkungan sungai, dan sistem sosial masyarakat terbukti relevan sebagai sumber belajar. Meskipun demikian, pemanfaatan kearifan lokal dalam bahan ajar masih belum optimal di sebagian sekolah. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan bahan ajar berbasis budaya dan kearifan lokal perlu terus ditingkatkan sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan literasi siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation demands that Islamic educational institutions promptly adopt Management Information Systems (MIS) as a strategic instrument in institutional governance. This study aims to analyze the role of MIS in enhancing the effectiveness of Islamic educational institution governance, identify factors influencing successful implementation, and formulate a strategic model for MIS application grounded in Islamic governance values. A qualitative method with a library research approach was employed, involving systematic review of relevant scientific literature. The findings reveal that MIS contributes significantly to integrating the management of student data, curriculum, finance, and human resources within a unified digital ecosystem. MIS has also proven effective in improving reporting transparency, strengthening institutional accountability, and supporting data-driven decision making by institutional leaders. The success of MIS implementation is strongly influenced by technological infrastructure readiness, digital literacy levels among human resources, leadership commitment, and system sustainability. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of an Islamic governance approach within the MIS implementation framework, positioning the values of amanah, honesty, and musyawarah as the ethical foundation of system operations. This study concludes that strategically and contextually implemented MIS will serve as the primary pillar in realizing modern, efficient, accountable, and dignified governance of Islamic educational institutions
