Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of classroom learning implementation. However, in practice, teachers are often faced with various classroom conditions and dynamics that do not always align with expectations. The gap between ideal conditions and reality frequently becomes an obstacle in optimizing the learning process. Therefore, to minimize various problems that arise in the classroom, teachers need to possess skills in implementing effective classroom management strategies. A conducive classroom environment is essential to support learning services for students. Without such an environment, teachers may encounter difficulties in managing the learning process, such as disruptive student behavior, low learning motivation, peer disturbances, and physical classroom issues, including unclean, cramped, unpleasant, and poorly organized spaces. This highlights that the role of the teacher as a classroom manager is not limited to preparing instructional materials and evaluating learning outcomes, but also includes efforts to develop, create, maintain, and improve classroom systems and organization so that students feel comfortable and engaged. A well-managed classroom environment has a significant influence on students' ability to concentrate and absorb learning materials.

This study was conducted in response to the relatively low learning outcomes and classroom participation of fourth-grade students in the Science and Social Studies (IPAS) subject at SD Muhammadiyah Abepura. These conditions were associated with the dominant use of conventional teaching methods and the limited use of interactive learning media. The study aimed to improve students’ cognitive achievement and learning participation in the Global Warming topic through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model supported by Canva interactive media. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the model of Kemmis and McTaggart and was carried out in two cycles. The participants consisted of 20 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observation of student activities, and documentation. The findings showed a clear improvement in students’ learning mastery. Classical completeness increased from 35% in the pre-cycle to 70% in the first cycle, and reached 85% in the second cycle. In addition, the integration of the STAD model with Canva media contributed to more active participation, greater confidence in expressing ideas, and stronger cooperation among students. In conclusion, the application of the STAD learning model assisted by Canva interactive media was effective in improving both the learning process and the IPAS learning outcomes of elementary school students.

Digital communication has influenced elementary school students’ language use, especially in writing activities. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital communication on students’ writing skills through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The study used the PRISMA method with data sources from Google Scholar and Crossref published between 2016–2026. The findings show that digital communication has both positive and negative impacts on writing skills. Negative impacts include the use of slang, abbreviations, and nonstandard language in academic writing. Meanwhile, positive impacts include increased creativity, motivation, and students’ interest in writing through digital media. Therefore, digital communication can become both a challenge and an opportunity in developing elementary school students’ writing skills.

This study aims to determine the application of the GASING method (easy, fun, and fun) in mathematics learning as well as to improve learning outcomes, accuracy, and students' ability to understand and solve story problems in the two-digit multiplication material of grade V students of SDN Bilaporah 1. This research is motivated by the low mathematical understanding of students, especially in multiplication calculation operations, which is characterized by a lack of mastery of basic concepts, low accuracy in arithmetic, and difficulties in understanding story problems. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of pre-experimental research (pre-experimental design) through a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research was carried out at SDN Bilaporah 1 with 20 research subjects in class V. Data sources were obtained from test results, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data collection techniques include giving pretests and posttests, distributing questionnaires, and interviews with classroom teachers. The research instrument is in the form of written tests and questionnaires that have gone through validity tests and reliability estimates with the help of SPSS Statistic 23 software. The data analysis technique used descriptive and inferential statistics, with prerequisite tests in the form of normality tests and hypothesis testing using t-tests. The results of the study show that the application of the GASING method is able to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes, which is characterized by an increase in average scores and the number of people who achieve learning completion. In addition, the GASING method also increases students' accuracy in the calculation process and their ability to understand and solve story problems. Thus, it can be concluded that the GASING method is effective in improving the mathematical understanding of elementary school students. Based on the results of the research, it is recommended that teachers apply the GASING method in a sustainable manner in mathematics learning and develop more innovative learning variations to improve the quality of learning.

This study aims to analyze the level of mathematics anxiety among fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Sukatani. Mathematics anxiety is an emotional condition characterized by feelings of fear, tension, and worry when dealing with mathematics learning, which can affect students' learning outcomes. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample consisted of 16 students selected using total sampling technique. The instrument used was a mathematics anxiety questionnaire consisting of 25 valid statements based on somatic and attitude indicators. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by calculating scores and percentages to classify anxiety levels into low, moderate, and high categories. The results showed that 37.5% of students were in the high anxiety category, 25% in the moderate category, and 37.5% in the low category. These findings indicate that students' mathematics anxiety levels vary and require attention in the learning process. Therefore, teachers are expected to create a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment to reduce students' anxiety.

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers’ emotional intelligence in the learning process through a literature review approach. Emotional intelligence is considered an important aspect that supports the effectiveness of learning because it influences classroom interactions, learning climate, student motivation, and classroom management. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a narrative literature review approach by analyzing various national and international journal articles related to teachers’ emotional intelligence in learning. The sources used were selected based on relevance, publication period, and scientific credibility. The findings indicate that teachers with good emotional intelligence are able to create a positive and inclusive classroom climate, build effective communication with students, increase students’ learning motivation, and manage conflicts and student behavior more wisely. In addition, teachers’ emotional intelligence also contributes to creating more humanistic, interactive, and effective learning processes. Therefore, emotional intelligence is not only a personal competence, but also an essential pedagogical competence that needs to be developed in educational practices and teacher professional development programs.

Spiritual intelligence is increasingly recognized as a crucial dimension in contemporary education, particularly amid rapid social change and technological advancement that may shift students’ value orientations. The phenomenon of moral degradation and the dominance of cognitively oriented instruction underscore the urgency of pedagogical transformation capable of integrating affective and spiritual dimensions in a more meaningful way. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education learning strategies based on humanistic psychology in fostering students’ spiritual intelligence through a qualitative approach employing a library research design. Data were collected through an extensive review of relevant literature, encompassing diverse theoretical and conceptual perspectives that reflect pedagogical experiences within Islamic education contexts. Data analysis was conducted thematically by identifying patterns of meaning, conceptual relationships, and recurring trends across sources. The findings indicate that the integration of a humanistic approach with strategies such as student-centered learning, contextual learning, problem-based learning, and reflective practices facilitates deeper internalization of values, characterized by active engagement, self-awareness, and authentic spiritual meaning-making among students. These findings suggest that learning processes grounded in subjective experience and empathetic relationships significantly contribute to the development of adaptive spiritual intelligence in response to contemporary challenges. Theoretically, this study reinforces the humanistic paradigm in Islamic education, while practically it offers implications for designing more reflective, contextual, and transformative learning models, as well as opening avenues for further exploration on the integration of technology and spirituality in education.

This study is motivated by the importance of understanding the relationship between cultural setting construction and conflict dynamics in literary works as representations of social life. This research aims to analyze the construction of the Lembata cultural setting and its influence on conflicts in the novel Cintaku di Lembata by Sari Narulita. The study employs cultural setting theory, which includes values, social structure, and social practices, as well as conflict theory that distinguishes between internal and external conflicts. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through documentation techniques, including close reading, note-taking, and data coding. The data consist of narrative and dialogue excerpts, which are analyzed systematically based on theoretical categories. The results show that the cultural setting of Lembata is constructed through traditional values, harmonious social structures, and strong cultural practices. These three dimensions play a significant role in generating various forms of conflict, including internal conflict, cultural value conflict, interpersonal conflict, conflict between individuals and society, and conflicts arising from traditional pressures. Therefore, culture functions not merely as a background element but as an active component that shapes the dynamics of conflict in the novel.

Elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving skills are still low, particularly in understanding problems, determining strategies, and evaluating answers. Extensive research on metacognition has been conducted, but the integration of metacognition and social complexity based on collaborative interactions is still limited in elementary school mathematics learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of the social complexity metacognition learning model on students' mathematical problem-solving skills. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. The study population consisted of 57 fifth-grade students of Kedungjenar State Elementary School in the 2025/2026 academic year, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, then analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U Test. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The metacognition social complexity learning model helps students think more reflectively, systematically, and collaboratively when solving mathematical problems. This research contributes to the development of higher-order thinking skills-based mathematics learning in elementary schools.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Auditory Intellectual Repetition (AIR) learning model on students' mathematical concept comprehension using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. The SLR process involves identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Data were obtained from the academic database Google Scholar with the help of the Publish or Perish application. Articles were collected using keywords relevant to the AIR model and mathematical concept comprehension, then selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 20 articles eligible for analysis. The synthesis of results indicates that the AIR learning model is generally effective in improving students' mathematical concept comprehension compared to conventional learning. This effectiveness is supported by the three stages of AIR: auditory, intellectual, and repetition, which help students gradually grasp concepts. Furthermore, the use of learning media such as GeoGebra, instructional videos, and technology-based applications can enhance the effectiveness of the AIR model. Thus, the AIR model can be an effective learning alternative for improving the quality of mathematics learning, particularly in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts.
