Abstract

Administration in sporting events is important because it ensures the smooth running and fairness of the event. The sociology of sport is a branch of science that studies the relationship between sport and society, including social behavior, group interactions, and the social values ​​that emerge in sporting activities. A conducive match environment is a crucial factor in creating a safe, orderly, sporting, and comfortable sporting atmosphere for athletes, officials, and spectators. This study aims to examine the application of the sociology of sport concept in maintaining a conducive match environment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through literature review and observation of sporting events. The results indicate that the application of the values ​​of solidarity, sportsmanship, social control, social communication, and social integration can create a more conducive match environment. Furthermore, the roles of the organizing committee, referees, coaches, athletes, and supporters significantly influence the successful application of the sociology of sport concept in matches. Therefore, the application of the sociology of sport concept can be an important strategy in creating a safe and harmonious match environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms, functions, and meanings of personification in Sukarni’s poetry collection. Poetry, as a literary work, has the power to convey ideas, emotions, and inner experiences through condensed and aesthetic language. In this context, personification becomes one of the dominant figures of speech used to animate inanimate objects, abstract concepts, and natural phenomena, making them appear as if they possess human characteristics and behaviors. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data sources consisting of eight poems by Sukarni, namely Arti Kehidupan, Bonekaku, Malam, Pantai, Sampah, Senja, Sebuah Harapan, and Waktu. Data were collected using observation and note-taking techniques, involving reading, identifying, recording, classifying, and systematically analyzing relevant data.The findings reveal 48 instances of personification distributed across all poems, showing diverse forms of usage. Personification is applied by attributing human traits, actions, and emotions to non-human entities. Functionally, this figure of speech enhances aesthetic effects, strengthens imagination, and creates a more vivid and expressive atmosphere. In terms of meaning, personification in Sukarni’s poems conveys emotional messages, reflections on life, and deep philosophical values, such as awareness of time, the relationship between humans and nature, and the poet’s inner experiences. Therefore, personification serves not merely as decorative language but as a significant medium for expressing complex meanings and reinforcing the expressive power of poetry

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the Islamic boarding school environment in shaping the disciplinary character of female students at MTs Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan. The study is motivated by the phenomenon that students living in boarding school environments tend to have higher levels of discipline compared to those who do not, while specific studies focusing on the formation of disciplinary character among female students remain limited. This research focuses on the role of the boarding school environment and the supporting and inhibiting factors in shaping disciplinary character.This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving teachers, boarding school administrators, and students. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation.The results show that the boarding school environment plays a significant role in shaping disciplinary character through three main dimensions: physical, social, and cultural-religious environments. The physical environment is reflected in well-organized facilities and clear rules, the social environment in teachers’ role modeling and peer interactions, and the cultural-religious environment in structured religious practices. Supporting factors include religious motivation, educator role modeling, the boarding school system, peer influence, and the implementation of reward and punishment. In contrast, inhibiting factors include homesickness, routine fatigue, social media influence, inconsistent family parenting, and limited supervision.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in mathematics learning using an inquiry approach. Mathematical critical thinking skills involve the ability to analyze, evaluate, and construct logical solutions to mathematical problems, while self-efficacy refers to an individual’s belief in their ability to complete academic tasks, which plays an important role in shaping students’ motivation, attitudes, and learning persistence. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design to examine the relationship between the two variables. The sample consisted of 25 seventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included an essay test to measure students’ mathematical critical thinking skills and a Likert-scale questionnaire to assess students’ self-efficacy. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and correlation analysis to determine the relationship between variables. The results showed that the correlation coefficient was r = 0.019 with a significance value of p = 0.928 (> 0.05), indicating that there is no significant relationship between self-efficacy and students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. However, the positive direction of the relationship indicates a tendency that higher self-efficacy may be associated with higher critical thinking skills, although at a very weak level. This study offers a novel contribution by revealing that, within an inquiry-based learning context, self-efficacy does not necessarily translate into higher mathematical critical thinking skills, challenging the common assumption of a direct positive relationship between the two variables. These findings suggest that mathematical critical thinking skills are not solely influenced by self-efficacy, but also by other factors such as learning strategies, learning environment, and practice intensity. Therefore, further research is needed to examine these factors more comprehensively.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of picture card media in developing early writing skills among young children at TK Aisyiyah 1 Kota Bima. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 12 group B children aged 5–6 years and two classroom teachers. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings indicate that picture cards were implemented through several stages, including media preparation, introduction of pictures and words, card-based play activities, guided writing practice, and reinforcement for children. Prior to the use of picture cards, children’s early writing skills were still in a low category. This was reflected in their limited ability to hold writing tools, trace shapes or letters, thicken dotted letters, imitate letters, write their own names, write short words, and express simple ideas in written form. After the implementation of picture card media, children’s early writing skills improved across all observed indicators. The children became more interested, active, confident, and able to connect pictures, letters, words, and written symbols in a more concrete way. Therefore, picture cards can be used as an effective alternative learning medium that is enjoyable, interactive, and appropriate to the developmental stage of early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the addition and subtraction arithmetic skills of second-grade elementary school students, identify the factors causing learning difficulties, and describe teachers’ efforts to improve students’ numeracy skills. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were obtained through documentation study and analysis of relevant learning sources, including lesson documents, student evaluation results, and academic references. Data were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that 71.4% of students (20 out of 28) were able to complete simple addition without the carrying technique, with an average score of 82.5. However, only 46.4% were able to correctly perform column addition with carrying, and only 39.3% could complete column subtraction with borrowing, indicating a significant gap between simple and column operations. The main difficulties stemmed from three interconnected factors: weak understanding of place value concepts, low learning motivation exacerbated by conventional teaching methods, and insufficient parental support at home. Teachers’ efforts included the use of concrete manipulative media, structured remedial programs that resulted in an average score improvement of 12 points, and interactive game-based learning activities. These findings suggest that innovative, student-centered, and sustainable learning strategies are essential to optimize elementary students’ arithmetic competence.

Abstract

The Teaching Practice Program (PPL) is an essential component of teacher education designed to provide pre-service teachers with real teaching experiences in schools. This program was carried out at SMA Negeri 2 Merangin from September 22 to November 11, 2025, focusing on the implementation of a student discipline and character-building program. During the program, students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Merangin, actively participated in classroom instruction, character development activities, and various school programs such as morning assemblies, physical exercises, and the “Clean and Orderly Friday” initiative. The results showed a noticeable improvement in students’ discipline, including punctuality, neatness, and adherence to school regulations. The PPL participants also served as role models and mentors, positively influencing students’ attitudes and behavior. Furthermore, this program provided valuable learning experiences for the pre-service teachers in understanding the teacher’s role not only as an instructor but also as a moral guide who fosters responsibility, order, and ethics. Overall, the PPL implementation at SMA Negeri 2 Merangin offered meaningful professional experiences for the pre-service teachers while strengthening collaboration between the school and the university in developing future educators who are disciplined, ethical, and committed to excellence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development process, product format, and feasibility of the observation report (LHO) text teaching material, supported by the Nearpod application, for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The background of this study is the limited teaching material in textbooks and the lack of use of interactive learning media, which leads to low student interest and motivation in learning. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, limited to three stages: analysis, design, and development. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews with teachers and the distribution of needs questionnaires to students. The resulting product is an interactive digital link containing comprehensive material ranging from definitions, structures, and linguistic characteristics of the LHO text. Validation results by material experts showed a feasibility level of 90.24%, categorized as "Very Feasible." Meanwhile, validation by media experts obtained a score of 92%, also categorized as "Very Feasible." Thus, the LHO text teaching material supported by the Nearpod application is declared feasible and effective as a learning innovation to increase active student engagement in the digital era.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model with the aid of flipbooks impacts the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. This study was conducted at SDN 197/IV, Jambi City, in the 2025/2026 academic year and used a quantitative approach. This approach employed a nonequivalent control group design involving two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The data collection method used a reading comprehension test. The results showed that the implementation of the CIRC model with the aid of flipbooks had a significant effect on students' reading skills. The Mann–Whitney U test showed a significance value of 0.001 <0.05. The Wilcoxon test results for the experimental class obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, while the significance value for the control class was 0.053 >0.05. Consequently, Ha was accepted, and Ho was rejected. The results indicate that the reading skills of fifth-grade elementary school students were influenced by the CIRC model

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media audio visual terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas V pada mata pelajaran PPKn di SDIT Darul Fikri Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pre-eksperimen melalui desain one group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VA yang berjumlah 15 orang dengan teknik sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest serta lembar observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial melalui uji paired sample t-test berbantuan SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest siswa sebesar 62,00 berada pada kategori rendah, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest meningkat menjadi 90,67 berada pada kategori sangat tinggi setelah diterapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media audio visual. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media audio visual berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PPKn di kelas VA SDIT Darul Fikri Kota Makassar.
