Abstract

ABSTRACT This research focuse to the implementation of sima’an bil ghaib as a Qur’anic memorization preservation practice at Pondok Pesantren Tahfizh Ulumul Qur’an Sei Rotan (PTUQSR), Deli Serdang. As an Islamic boarding school specializing in Qur’anic memorization, PTUQSR incorporates this tradition into its regular educational activities to support the accuracy of recitation, maintain the quality of students’ memorization, and cultivate discipline in engaging with the Qur’an. Since 2024, sima’an bil ghaib has been consistently practiced and has become an essential element of the institution’s memorization development program. This research adopts a qualitative design grounded in the Living Qur’an perspective, which seeks to examine how Qur’anic values and teachings are manifested through religious and social practices within the pesantren community. Data were obtained through participant observation, semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, and the examination of relevant institutional documents related to the implementation of sima’an bil ghaib. The collected data were interpreted using a descriptive-analytical approach to uncover the meanings, functions, and educational significance of this tradition in the context of Qur’anic memorization. The findings indicate that sima’an bil ghaib plays an important role in enhancing the retention and accuracy of students’ memorization, strengthening the regular practice of muraja’ah (revision), and encouraging learners to expand their memorization achievements. Moreover, the activity contributes to the development of a stronger spiritual connection between students and the Qur’an while fostering a supportive academic environment centered on tahfizh education. The tradition also serves as a collective evaluation mechanism through which teachers and students can continuously monitor and assess memorization performance. These results demonstrate that sima’an bil ghaib extends beyond its instructional function and contributes to the establishment of a Qur’anic culture that sustains and enriches the long-term development of tahfizh programs within the pesantren setting.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of implementing Islamic Religious Education (IRE) based on the Merdeka Curriculum to support the development of students’ creativity and entrepreneurial skills in vocational high schools. The Merdeka Curriculum provides teachers with greater flexibility to design contextual learning experiences that are student-centered and capable of integrating Islamic values with 21st-century competencies. This study aims to describe the implementation of IRE learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum, explain its contribution to the development of students’ creativity and entrepreneurship, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation at Sultan Agung 1 Vocational High School, Tebuireng, Jombang. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students, as well as documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of IRE learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum has been carried out effectively through the use of flexible teaching modules, the application of interactive learning methods such as Project-Based Learning, and the strengthening of students’ religious character and independence. The development of creativity and entrepreneurship was fostered through various contextual projects integrating Islamic values with entrepreneurial practices, thereby enhancing students’ participation, innovation, and interest in entrepreneurship. Supporting factors include teacher competence, adaptive school policies, curriculum flexibility, and students’ enthusiasm. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of limited instructional time, inadequate supporting facilities, varying levels of teacher readiness, and restricted access to technology. Therefore, the implementation of IRE learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum contributes positively to shaping creative, independent, Islamic-minded students with strong entrepreneurial character.

Abstract

This research seeks to uncover why the Brokohan, Sepasaran, and Selap-anan traditions persist despite the modern digital age. This cultural preservation phenomenon is particularly intriguing because rural areas like Kedal Hamlet in Bo-jonegoro continue to experience significant social transformations. It turns out that these Javanese birth ritual series are not merely outdated customs that remain unchanged, but serve as genuine ways for communities to express sincere re-spect for each stage of the beginning of human life. Using a phenomenological approach, this research explores the feelings and experiences of community members, from the parents of newborns to senior village elders, to understand what they actually feel, undergo, and think during the ritual process. Research da-ta was collected directly from the field through observation and in-depth interviews to capture the essence of each stage. The results are quite surprising; the exist-ence of these traditions is still well-maintained through collective awareness to preserve the balance between humans, nature, and ancestors. The meanings be-hind the offerings, such as the jenang abang putih (red and white glutinous rice dish) and the special placenta care, prove to be profound symbols regarding hu-man origins and the balance of the Javanese world or cosmology. Psychologically, these transition rituals have been found to provide inner peace, a sense of securi-ty, and strengthen their identity as culturally Javanese people. Ultimately, Broko-han, Sepasaran, and Selapanan are not merely safety ceremonies for newborns, but also serve as social venues for community mutual support through coopera-tion. Additionally, these traditions represent a unique way to preserve local values while welcoming new life into the world. Keywords: holistic strategy, best prac-tice,qualitative case study, pencak silat, pancasila student profile. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of digital-based learning innovations in an effort to improve the quality of education at MA SAQA. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design; Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and document review involving the principal, teachers, and students. The findings show that the management of digital innovation in madrasas takes place through a series of activities: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, the school establishes a strategy for integrating technology into the curriculum and establishes supporting policies. During implementation, teachers utilize various digital media such as interactive presentations, learning videos, and bold communication platforms to enrich the teaching and learning process. The evaluation stage is carried out to assess the effectiveness of technology utilization and identify emerging obstacles so that improvements can be designed. Several factors that support successful implementation include the institution's commitment to the use of technology, the readiness of teachers to adopt new methods, and the enthusiasm of students to use digital devices. Conversely, obstacles that often arise include limited facilities and infrastructure (e.g., the number of devices and facilities is not evenly distributed) and unstable internet connectivity. The positive impact of digital-based learning innovations is reflected in the increased effectiveness of the learning process, increased student motivation and participation, and the development of digital teacher competencies. Furthermore, learning becomes more flexible because students can access a wider range of learning resources independently. Based on these results, several steps are recommended to optimize the implementation of digital learning at MA SAQA: strengthening policies that support digital transformation, improving the quality and equity of technology infrastructure and connectivity, and providing ongoing training and mentoring for educators. The implementation of these steps is expected to strengthen the effectiveness of digital learning innovations and contribute to improving the quality of education in madrasas.
