Abstract

Students’ motivation to learn, particularly in mathematics in elementary school, is quite low given that students perceive mathematics as a difficult subject, and this can affect their learning outcomes. Students’ motivation to learn is closely linked to one important factor: the support provided by the family environment, particularly parents. This study was conducted with the aim of providing an overview of the influence of parental roles on elementary school students’ motivation to learn mathematics. This study employed a qualitative research design. Data were collected through interviews with three parents and three students. The results indicate that there are differences in students’ levels of learning motivation based on the support provided by their parents. Students who received strong parental support were more active, confident, and enthusiastic in participating in lessons. Conversely, students who received less support tended to exhibit lower learning motivation. These findings demonstrate that parental involvement plays a crucial role in fostering elementary students’ motivation to learn mathematics.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low consistency of some Buddhists in participating in puja bakti services and meditation practices amid the increasing complexity of modern life. Puja bakti and meditation are important spiritual activities that contribute to the development of Buddhist religiosity by strengthening faith, deepening spiritual understanding, and encouraging the application of Dhamma values in daily life. However, some Buddhists remain less active in these activities, resulting in a suboptimal level of religiosity. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the influence of participation in puja bakti services and meditation practices on the religiosity of Buddhists at Tri Dhamma Loka Vihara, Grobogan Regency, both partially and simultaneously. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of 125 Buddhists at Tri Dhamma Loka Vihara, Grobogan Regency. Data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS, including classical assumption tests, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination. The results revealed that participation in puja bakti services had a positive and significant effect on Buddhist religiosity (t = 4.215; p < 0.05). Meditation practice also had a positive and significant effect on religiosity (t = 5.103; p < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced the religiosity of Buddhists (F = 38.762; p < 0.05). The Adjusted R Square value of 0.624 indicates that participation in puja bakti services and meditation practices contributed 62.4% to the religiosity of Buddhists, while the remaining 37.6% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. These findings confirm the importance of puja bakti services and meditation practices in enhancing Buddhist religiosity.

Abstract

The development of digitalization in Indonesia has not been fully accompanied by a reduction in poverty levels across regions. This study aims to analyze the effect of internet penetration on poverty levels in Indonesia using a panel data regression approach. The study employs secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), covering 34 provinces in Indonesia during the period 2015–2024, resulting in a total of 340 observations. The dependent variable in this study is the poverty rate, while the independent variables include internet penetration, mean years of schooling, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), and the open unemployment rate. Model selection was conducted using the Hausman test, which indicated that the Random Effect Model (REM) was the most appropriate estimation method. In addition, robust standard errors were applied to address heteroscedasticity problems and to produce more valid and reliable estimates. The results show that, partially, internet penetration and the open unemployment rate do not have a significant effect on poverty levels, whereas mean years of schooling and GRDP significantly contribute to poverty reduction in Indonesia. These findings indicate that increased internet access has not been fully accompanied by productive and equitable digital utilization across regions. Meanwhile, improvements in educational quality and regional economic growth have proven to contribute to poverty reduction. Therefore, poverty alleviation efforts require integrated policies through improving educational quality, promoting equitable economic development, and strengthening digital literacy and digital infrastructure in order to encourage a more inclusive utilization of digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies of teachers and parents in addressing students' learning anxiety in science at Sunan Bonang II Islamic Elementary School. Learning anxiety is a psychological condition frequently experienced by students and can affect concentration, motivation, and learning outcomes. Science is considered quite challenging because it combines natural and social science concepts, requiring understanding, observation, and critical thinking skills. Therefore, collaboration between teachers and parents is necessary to help students overcome learning anxiety to make the learning process more effective and enjoyable. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Subjects included classroom teachers, parents, and students at Sunan Bonang II Islamic Elementary School. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was achieved through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that teachers' strategies in reducing students' learning anxiety included the use of varied learning methods, providing motivation and positive reinforcement, engaging with students in a personal manner, and creating a comfortable and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. Meanwhile, parental strategies include providing attention and support during home learning, building good communication with children, providing emotional support, and actively collaborating with teachers. Collaboration between teachers and parents has been proven to help students become more confident, more active in learning, and reduce fear during science lessons. Thus, synergy between the school and family environment plays a crucial role in supporting students' psychological health and academic success.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the dynamics of the Value Added Tax (VAT) increase policy in Indonesia and its implications for public purchasing power. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on 12 SINTA-indexed scientific articles, this study analyzes the impact of the VAT rate adjustment from 10% to 11% up to the planned escalation towards 12% in accordance with the Law on Harmonization of Tax Regulations (UU HPP) No. 7 of 2021. The synthesis of the literature identifies four main impact clusters: (1) the erosion of purchasing power and shifts in public consumption patterns; (2) economic psychological dimensions and gender aspects; (3) operational pressure on the MSME sector; and (4) fiscal compliance risks and public accountability. These findings indicate that the VAT increase policy is dualistic; on one hand, it successfully increases state revenue, but on the other hand, it weakens public accessibility to basic needs, pressures the sustainability of MSMEs, and reduces voluntary tax compliance rates. This study recommends that the government optimize social safety nets, reform the VAT rate structure to be more progressive, provide stimuli for MSMEs, and enhance fiscal transparency as strategic steps to maintain domestic economic stability.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop an educational Snakes and Ladders game-based learning media for the Pancasila Education subject, specifically on the topic “I Obey the Rules in My Home”, for first-grade elementary school students. The background of this research was based on the condition that Pancasila Education learning is still predominantly conducted through lecture-based methods, causing normative and abstract materials to be less contextually understood by students. The method used in this research was Research and Development (R&D) employing the ADDIE development model, which consists of the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects were 14 first-grade students of MIN 12 East Jakarta. The research instruments included material and media expert validation questionnaires using a Likert scale, as well as student response questionnaires using a Guttman scale. The results of the material expert validation obtained a percentage of 100%, while the media expert validation obtained a percentage of 95.8%, both categorized as “very good.” The results of the student response questionnaire showed a percentage of 96.4%, which was also categorized as “very good.” Based on these findings, the educational Snakes and Ladders learning media was declared valid, feasible, and effective for use in Pancasila Education learning for first-grade elementary school students to foster understanding and habituation of rule-based values among students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of human resource competency development in the Islamic Religious Extension Section of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Special Region of Yogyakarta from the perspective of Islamic Education Management. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design based on internship activities, institutional observation, document review, and focused interviews with elements of the apparatus and Islamic religious instructors. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, thematic presentation, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the development of extension worker competencies has been directed at technical, managerial, socio-cultural, and digital competencies. However, pedagogical competencies as community educators have not been fully formulated explicitly in the planning, mentoring, and impact evaluation cycle. This article offers a P3E-D model consisting of needs mapping, competency strengthening, educational mentoring, impact evaluation, and knowledge digitization. This model strengthens the position of extension workers as human resources in community-based non-formal Islamic education.
