Abstract

Water quality is a factor that affects the survival of tilapia in grow-out ponds. Monitoring water quality manually can cause changes in water conditions to be detected late, which can potentially reduce aquaculture productivity. This study aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based water quality monitoring system combined with the Mamdani Fuzzy Logic method as the basis for automatic decision-making. Here, I use an ESP32 microcontroller system connected to a DS18B20 temperature sensor, pH sensor, float switch, and a two-channel relay to control the drainage pump and water filling pump. Temperature and pH data are processed through fuzzification, inference, and defuzzification stages to classify water quality into good, moderate, and poor categories. Measurement information is sent to the Blynk application so that users can monitor pond conditions in real-time. The implementation results show that the system can continuously monitor water quality and automatically carry out water changes when the water quality is poor. This way, the developed system can help farmers maintain water quality more effectively, efficiently, and sustainably.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology triggers an instantism culture in education, where students prioritize quick results over meaningful learning. This study aims to examine the manifestation of instantism culture among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kuning, Aceh Tenggara, analyze its challenges to learning discipline character, and formulate solutions based on the Book of Ta'lim al-Muta'allim. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Subjects were selected via purposive sampling, involving fifth-grade students, the classroom teacher, and the principal. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that instantism culture manifests in three forms: high dependence on Google, mass copy-paste behavior, and passive use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) without conceptual understanding. This phenomenon poses a serious challenge that decreases learning discipline, triggers academic procrastination, and erodes students' grit and honesty. As an alternative solution, the moral-spiritual values in the Book of Ta'lim al-Muta'allim—comprising earnestness (mujahadah), patience (ash-shabr), and rectifying intentions—are highly relevant for educators to integrate to foster students' self-regulation in the digital era.

Abstract

The difficulty of class XI students of SMAN 3 Kendari in understanding abstract and calculative acid-base material causes low learning outcomes with an average daily test of 68, below the KKM of 75. This study aims to describe the profile of student learning outcomes, measure the effectiveness of the discovery learning model, and analyze student responses to the model. The research method used is a quantitative quasi-experimental type with a control group pretest posttest design. The sample was selected by purposive sampling, consisting of Class XI.3 as the experimental class (n = 32) using the discovery learning model and Class XI.4 as the control class (n = 32) using the direct learning model. Data were collected through objective test instruments, response questionnaires, and activity observation sheets, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class reached 84.84 with a classical completeness of 90%, far surpassing the control class which only achieved an average of 73.59 with a classical completeness of 54%. Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis proved that the experimental class's learning outcomes increased by 76.31% (effective category), while the control class's increased by 56.18% (quite effective category). The independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in the average learning outcomes between the two classes (p < 0.001). In addition, the average student activity reached 88.23% and the student satisfaction response was 77.58%, both of which were categorized as very good. In conclusion, the application of the discovery learning model was significantly effective in boosting students' cognitive learning outcomes in acid-base material.

Abstract

This study analyzes the use of mathematical language as a creative communication strategy in Islamic da'wah content on social media, particularly TikTok, among Generation Z audiences. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with qualitative content analysis based on Krippendorff's (2019) framework, this research examined seven TikTok uploads that explicitly employed mathematical terms or symbols (numbers, arithmetic operators, or words such as "formula" or "logic") in religious contexts. The data were purposively sampled and coded based on Kövecses's (2005) classification of conceptual metaphors: structural, orientational, and ontological. The findings reveal that six of the seven uploads employed structural metaphors, divided into two rhetorical patterns: (1) reversing conventional arithmetic logic to represent boundless reward and sincerity (five uploads), and (2) affirming valid mathematical relations as rational proof of monotheism (one upload). One upload employed an ontological metaphor, concretizing the abstract concept of selective religious practice through a "food stall" analogy. No orientational metaphors were found in the collected data. These findings suggest that mathematical language in digital da'wah functions as a deliberate rhetorical strategy that bridges rational logic familiar to Generation Z with abstract spiritual concepts, and that such analogies have developed into a recurring rhetorical formula across different content creators.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of claytivity activities in Visual Arts learning and to identify the forms of creativity that emerged among second-grade students at SDN Mlatiharjo 02 Semarang. Creativity is an essential skill that needs to be developed from an early age; however, visual arts learning is often dominated by imitation-based activities, limiting students’ opportunities to explore and express original ideas. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 17 second-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and member checking, while data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings showed that claytivity activities were implemented through stages of introduction, exploration, sketching, clay manipulation, and presentation of artworks. The forms of creativity that emerged were reflected in the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Students demonstrated significant improvement in all four indicators, particularly originality. During the first meeting, students tended to create familiar real-life objects, whereas in the second meeting, after receiving imaginative themes, they produced more unique, detailed, and imaginative artworks. The findings indicate that imaginative themes functioned as scaffolding that supported students in developing higher creative potential. In addition, claytivity activities contributed to the development of fine motor skills, social interaction, and communication skills. Therefore, claytivity can be considered an effective learning activity for fostering creativity in elementary school students.

Abstract

The potential blockade of the Strait of Hormuz poses a significant risk to global energy supply chains and may affect Indonesia, which remains dependent on imported oil and fuel. This study aims to analyze the urgency of implementing Presidential Regulation Number 96 of 2024 concerning Strategic Energy Reserves in strengthening Indonesia's national energy security. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory and conceptual approaches. Data were collected through a literature review of laws and regulations, books, scientific journals, and official documents, and were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method based on George C. Edward III's policy implementation theory. The findings indicate that the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 96 of 2024 is supported by adequate communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. However, its effectiveness is still constrained by limited infrastructure, funding, and inter-agency coordination. Therefore, optimizing the implementation of Strategic Energy Reserves is essential to ensure national energy availability and enhance Indonesia's preparedness for potential energy supply disruptions caused by global geopolitical dynamics.

Abstract

The era of digitalization and globalization has brought about fundamental changes in the education system. This demands a shift from conventional teacher-centered teaching methods to a more flexible, student-centered model. This article aims to examine the suitability of John Dewey's progressivism philosophy as a theoretical basis for transforming the teaching and learning process in the contemporary era. This research method utilizes a library study by conducting a literature review over the past five years. This study seeks to investigate the potential integration of the principles of learning by doing and the acquisition of factual experience with the use of digital technology. Data analysis indicates that progressivism has high relevance when implemented through the implementation of blended learning based on the TPACK framework, the Merdeka Committee, and efforts to strengthen 21st-century competencies, including critical thinking and collaboration skills. Despite obstacles such as infrastructure disparities and limited digital literacy among educators, progressivism provides a strong framework for realizing an inclusive, democratic, and future-oriented education system.
