Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of deep learning instruction based on the principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning in improving students’ reading comprehension at MI Islahiyah Panipahan. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, involving an experimental group and a control group. Research instruments included a reading comprehension test (multiple-choice and essay items) and an observation sheet to assess student engagement. The findings indicate that the experimental group showed a substantially greater improvement than the control group. The experimental group’s mean pretest score of 48,90 increased to 81,60 in the posttest, with an average gain of 32,70, while the control group showed a limited average gains of 6,20. Statistical testing confirmed a significant effect with t = 6.372 and Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 (p < 0,05), indicating that deep learning instruction has a positive and significant impact on students’ reading comprehension. The implementation was supported by interactive media such as a digital interactive board, educational videos, and word games, which enhanced students’ focus, engagement, and learning motivation.

Abstract

Beginning writing skills are an essential basic competency for elementary school students. However, many students in the early grades still experience difficulties in recognizing letters, constructing words and simple sentences, and applying correct spelling. This study aims to examine teachers' strategies for improving beginning writing skills through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The data were obtained from 20 scientific articles published between 2018 and 2026, collected through Google Scholar, and analyzed using the stages of identification, selection, evaluation, and synthesis. The findings indicate that the use of visual learning media, innovative learning models, individual guidance, step-by-step writing practice, motivation, and collaborative learning effectively improve students' beginning writing skills. The study concludes that no single strategy is the most effective; instead, a combination of strategies tailored to students' characteristics and learning needs produces more optimal outcomes. Therefore, teachers should implement innovative, student-centered learning to support the development of students' early literacy skills.

Abstract

This study focuses on the low and uninnovative mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade students regarding fractions at SDN 8 Syamtalira Aron. This study aims to identify the effect of the Game Based Learning (GBL) model assisted by the Wordwall application on student learning outcomes. The method used in this study is quantitative experimental with a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The research sample includes an experimental class (III-A, n=18) and a control class (III-B, n=17). Data were obtained through written tests (pre-test and post-test) and analyzed using the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U statistical test because the data were not normally distributed. The results of hypothesis testing showed a significance value (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.003 < 0.05, so Ha is accepted. The results of data analysis showed that the post-test average of the experimental class (94.47) was significantly higher than that of the control class (75.37). The conclusion of this study indicates that the use of the GBL model assisted by the Wordwall application has a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes in fraction materials in third grade at SDN 8 Syamtalira Aron.

Abstract

Low mathematics performance among second-grade students at SDN 12 Padang Besi, Padang City especially in the topic of addition and subtraction served as the primary motivation for this research. Several contributing factors were observed, namely minimal use of varied and innovative teaching approaches, suboptimal utilization of instructional media, weak student focus and participation during lessons, and shallow grasp of basic arithmetic principles among learners. To address these issues, the researcher set out to investigate whether applying a Game Based Learning (GBL) approach, supported by Snake and Ladder media, could raise students' academic performance. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) framework combining qualitative and quantitative methods was employed, unfolding across two cycles that each followed four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Both testing and non-testing instruments were used to collect data, drawing on a research sample composed of one second-grade classroom teacher along with 21 pupils from the same grade at SDN 12 Padang Besi. Results pointed to steady gains across all measured dimensions. Teaching module quality rose from 87.45% (categorized as Good) during the first cycle to 95.8% (Very Good) in the second. Similarly, teacher performance climbed from 85.13% to 95.3%, moving from the Good to Very Good category, and student activity levels followed the same pattern, increasing from 85.13% to 95.3%. Meanwhile, students' mean achievement scores rose from 79.75 in Cycle I to 86.9 in Cycle II. Taken together, these outcomes confirm that Game Based Learning combined with Snake and Ladder media serves as an effective strategy for boosting students' understanding and results in addition and subtraction.

The trustworthiness of the data was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the educational marketing strategy implemented at SD IT Al Azhar Lebong adopts a community-oriented approach by strengthening flagship programs, applying the 7P marketing mix, utilizing social media, and promoting the school through word-of-mouth marketing. The school's branding strategy has been developed by reinforcing its identity as an integrated Islamic school, implementing a tahfizh (Qur'an memorization) program, strengthening English language instruction, fostering Islamic character, improving service quality, and enhancing teacher professionalism. These efforts have successfully established a positive school image and increased public trust. The implemented strategies have significantly contributed to increasing new student enrollment, strengthening parental loyalty, and enhancing the school's competitiveness amid the growing competition among educational institutions. The study concludes that school branding-based educational marketing is an effective approach for improving school reputation, public trust, and new student enrollment. However, further enhancement of digital marketing strategies and data-driven evaluation is needed to support the school's sustainable development.

Abstract

The research problem addressed in this study is the difficulty of early reading among third-grade elementary school students, despite the expectation that, at this stage, learners should have achieved reading fluency as a foundational skill for comprehending instructional materials. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to early reading difficulties among third-grade students at SDN 4 Metro Barat in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with students serving as the primary informants, while teachers and the school principal act as supporting informants. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that early reading difficulties are hierarchical and interrelated, encompassing both technical aspects and reading fluency. Out of 32 students, 9 were identified as experiencing difficulties in letter recognition, phonemic differentiation, syllable blending, reading simple sentences, and achieving reading fluency. These difficulties are influenced by internal factors, such as cognitive capacity, concentration, and self-confidence, as well as external factors, including family support and literacy habituation within the social environment. Abstract

Land disputes at the village level still happen quite often, especially concerning ownership, land boundaries, and road access. This study aims to analyze the causes of land disputes and the effectiveness of the Village Head's role as a paralegal in resolving them in Beji Village, Boyolangu District, Tulungagung Regency. The study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and a case study type. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the Village Head, village officials, community leaders, and the disputing parties. Data analysis was done using the Miles and Huberman model with Soerjono Soekanto's legal effectiveness theory. The results show that disputes are triggered by unclear land administration and the lack of re-measurement in the transfer process, resulting in road access ending up on someone else's certificate. The Village Head has acted as a facilitator and mediator through deliberation, However, its implementation hasn't been optimal because it's affected by imbalances in evidence, lack of tracing the chronology of disputes, low public understanding of land administration, and family relationship factors. Therefore, we need to strengthen mediation capacity, improve land administration, and raise public legal awareness to achieve more effective land dispute resolution at the village level.
