Abstract

This study aims to improve the creative thinking of fifth grade students of UPTD SD Negeri 13 Jangka through the application of the Teams Games Tournament learning model. The background of the study shows that students' creative thinking abilities are still relatively low, especially in understanding the water cycle material. The low ability of students' creative thinking on the material is seen from the learning process which is still one-way, where the teacher is more dominant in explaining the material while students tend to be passive in listening without much participation. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was carried out in two cycles. The results of the study showed a significant increase in creative thinking abilities with classical completeness increasing from 34.61% in cycle I to 88.46% in cycle II. In addition, teacher activity increased from 77.7% to 95.25% and student activity increased from 75.3% to 91.45%. Student responses to the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model were also very positive, with 78.46% responding strongly agree (SS), 13.84% agreeing (S), 6.92% disagreeing (TS), and 0.76% strongly disagreeing (STS). Thus, the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model has proven effective in enhancing students' creative thinking skills, particularly in understanding the water cycle, as well as creating a more active and positive learning environment.

Abstract

This study examines various sound changes and lexical variations in the Bugis language that occur in Pinrang Regency, Soppeng Regency, Sidrap Regency, and Bone Regency. This study employed a qualitative research method that produced descriptive data, with the research subjects consisting of 12 male and female informants aged between 20 and 60 years. The research instruments included the researcher as the primary instrument and an additional instrument in the form of 200 questionnaire items containing sound variations. The data collection techniques consisted of observation, participant observation, non-participant observation, recording, and note-taking, which were subsequently analyzed using two techniques, namely the determinant element sorting technique and the comparative method. The results of the study show that there are eight forms of sound variation in the Bugis language in several regencies. These variations include (1) the sound change (e-i) into (i-e), (2) the sound change (ǝ) into (a), (3) the sound change (b) into (w), (4) the sound change (p) into (f), (5) the sound change (?) into (:), (6) the addition of an initial phoneme, (7) the addition of a final phoneme, and (8) consonant alternation. This study concludes that the Bugis vocabulary does not have absolute sounds; the pronunciation of the Bugis language differs in each regency, influenced by speech habits, geographical location, social and economic conditions, and the cultural heritage of the local community.

Abstract

The development of critical thinking skills has become an important objective of Pancasila Education in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. However, learning practices in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah are still often teacher-centered and provide limited opportunities for students to engage in problem analysis, argumentation, and decision-making. This study aimed to explore the implementation of contextual Problem Based Learning (PBL) in Pancasila Education and its contribution to the development of students' critical thinking skills. A qualitative case study design was employed at MIS Ar Raudlah Sukorambi Jember. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving the principal, Pancasila Education teacher, and fifth-grade students. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that teachers designed contextual PBL through five interconnected strategies: formulating learning objectives, selecting authentic problems, organizing collaborative learning, providing scaffolding, and conducting reflection. The implementation of contextual PBL facilitated the development of critical thinking skills reflected in the indicators of clarification, evidence-based reasoning, inference, explanation, and decision-making based on Ennis' framework. The study also identified institutional support, teacher competence, authentic problems, and student collaboration as supporting factors, while limited instructional time, diverse student abilities, and classroom dynamics emerged as challenges. These findings highlight the importance of integrating contextual learning and problem-based instruction to foster critical thinking in Islamic elementary education.
