Abstract

Language development plays a crucial role in enabling young children to communicate, express their thoughts, and interact with their surroundings. However, not all children develop language skills according to their developmental milestones. One common language disorder is speech delay, a condition in which children's speech development is below the expected level for their age, resulting in difficulties in pronouncing words clearly, responding to verbal communication, and understanding simple instructions. Preliminary observations conducted at TK Pembina 01 Linggo Sari Baganti identified three children with speech delay, highlighting the need for appropriate teaching strategies to support their language development. This study aimed to analyze teachers' strategies for addressing speech delay in early childhood education. A qualitative case study approach was employed. The research participants consisted of three children with speech delay, while two classroom teachers served as the key informants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the children experienced delayed expressive language development, characterized by unclear pronunciation, limited vocabulary, difficulty responding to verbal communication, and challenges in understanding simple instructions. To address these difficulties, teachers implemented three complementary strategies: a caring approach to build children's emotional security and self-confidence, the use of illustrated storybooks to stimulate language development, and a learning center model that encouraged active communication and social interaction. It can be concluded that an integrated and sustained learning strategy can support the development of speaking skills in children with speech delays.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematics learning activity through the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) assisted by tangram media on plane geometry material in fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Sukun 1 Kota Malang. This research was conducted based on the problem of low student involvement during mathematics learning, as indicated by students’ lack of participation in asking questions, answering questions, expressing opinions, participating in discussions, and the presence of off-task activities during the learning process. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 27 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Sukun 1 Kota Malang. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL assisted by tangram media improved students’ learning activity. The percentage of students’ learning activity increased from 46% in the pre-action stage to 69% in the first cycle and reached 85% in the second cycle. Therefore, the implementation of Project Based Learning assisted by tangram media is effective in improving elementary school students’ mathematics learning activity and creating an active, meaningful, and student-centered learning process.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the discourse construction of poverty in the podcast "Sisi Gelap Orang Miskin!" on the Tretan Universe YouTube channel through the dimensions of text structure, social cognition, and social context. A qualitative approach was employed using Teun A. van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis model, analyzing verbatim video transcripts and audience comments without direct interviews with the creators. The findings showed that the podcast constructed poverty as an inherited generational identity, while also criticizing social assistance policies deemed humiliating toward beneficiaries through verification mechanisms such as poverty household stickers. A paradox was also found in the use of social assistance cards, which were regarded as a lifeline on one hand, yet became instruments of debt collateral to loan sharks on the other. The discourse produced was ambivalent, containing both critique of structural failure and reproduction of individualizing narratives about the mentality of the poor. This study concluded that satirical humor in the podcast did not function solely as either stigma deconstruction or stigma reproduction, but instead presented both simultaneously within a single digital discursive space.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the juvenile criminal justice system based on Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach, by examining various relevant primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources. The results indicate that the juvenile justice system in Indonesia has adopted restorative justice and diversion as the main approaches in resolving cases involving children. These approaches aim to protect children's rights, prevent children from undergoing formal judicial processes, and promote the restoration of relationships between offenders, victims, and society. However, in practice, several challenges remain, including the lack of understanding among law enforcement officers, limited supporting facilities, and low community participation. In addition, social stigma against children in conflict with the law poses a significant obstacle to their social reintegration. Therefore, strengthening human resources, institutional capacity, and public awareness is necessary to ensure the effective implementation of this system. This research is expected to contribute to the development of legal science, particularly in the field of child protection within the criminal justice system.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing a deep learning approach assisted by the coc memorize game on students' cognitive learning outcomes in the topic of symbiosis. The problem in science learning is reflected in the low cognitive learning outcomes of students, which are caused by teacher-centered instruction, the limited use of engaging learning media, and the low level of student participation in the learning process. Therefore, an innovative learning approach is needed to create learning that is more meaningful, active, and enjoyable. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely Class VII B as the experimental group and Class VII A as the control group at SMP Negeri 3 Adiwerna in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research instruments included a multiple-choice test to measure cognitive learning outcomes and a questionnaire to assess students' responses to the learning process. The results showed that the implementation of the deep learning approach assisted by the coc memorize game had a positive effect on students' cognitive learning outcomes. The N-Gain analysis indicated that the experimental group achieved an average gain score of 53.20 (moderate category), which was higher than the control group's average score of 41.51 (moderate category). In addition, the questionnaire results revealed that students' responses to the learning approach reached an average percentage of 87.4%, which was categorized as very good. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the deep learning approach assisted by the coc memorize game effectively improves students' cognitive learning outcomes on the topic of symbiosis and receives highly positive responses from students, making it a suitable alternative for creating more meaningful, active, and enjoyable science learning.

Abstract

Student profiling is a systematic process of identifying and mapping individual student characteristics including abilities, interests, learning styles, learning readiness, and socio-cultural backgrounds. This process is essential for teachers in designing effective student-centered learning, particularly in the context of differentiated instruction. This article aims to conceptually examine the relationship between student profiling and the implementation of differentiated learning in elementary schools. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various relevant scientific sources. The results show that student profiling plays a strategic role as the foundation of differentiated learning through mapping aspects of student characteristics such as academic ability, learning style, learning readiness, interests, socio-emotional development, and special needs. Profiling data obtained through diagnostic assessments helps teachers design content, process, and product differentiation appropriately. Without adequate profiling, teachers risk designing learning that does not meet student needs, resulting in low motivation, learning gaps, and suboptimal development of student potential.

Abstract

Writing skills are an essential core competence for primary school pupils; however, in practice, many pupils still struggle to express their ideas in a coherent and systematic manner. This study aims to analyse the effect of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on improving the writing skills of Year 5 primary school pupils. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design of the pre-test–post-test control group type. The research subjects were 50 Year 5 pupils at SDN Lenggahjaya 02, Cabangbungin Sub-district, Bekasi Regency, divided into an experimental class (25 pupils) and a control class (25 pupils). The instrument used was a writing skills test covering five aspects: content/ideas, text organisation, vocabulary use, grammar, and spelling and punctuation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, an independent samples t-test, and Normalised Gain (N-Gain) calculations. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class was 82.36, significantly higher than that of the control class at 66.44. The N-Gain score for the experimental class reached 0.63 (moderate category), whilst the control class scored only 0.30 (low category). The t-test yielded a significance level (Sig.) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect. These findings suggest that the PjBL model effectively enhances primary school pupils’ writing skills through a real-world project-based approach that is.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning motivation of some students at SMP Negeri 114 North Jakarta, which was suspected to be influenced by the teacher's provision of reward during the learning process. Preliminary observation found that several students were less active, less confident in asking questions, and less enthusiastic in completing assignments. This study aimed to determine the effect of reward on students' learning motivation. A quantitative approach with a survey method was used. The population consisted of 881 students, with a sample of 90 students determined using the Slovin formula and proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, prerequisite tests, and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed a positive and significant effect of reward on students' learning motivation, with a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of 0.461 and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a moderate relationship. The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.212 indicates that reward contributes 21.2% to students' learning motivation, while the remaining 78.8% is influenced by other factors. Therefore, the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the Null Hypothesis (H0) was rejected, meaning that the better the reward given, the higher the students' learning motivation.
