Abstract

The study aims to develop a local wisdom-based storybook integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) technology as a companion teaching material in Indonesian language learning for phase C students (grades 5 and 6). The teaching material contains local wisdom story texts equipped with AR features, audio story podcasts, and interactive Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) questions. This study uses a mixed methods approach with the ADDIE development model (analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate). The study was conducted in an elementary school in South Sumedang District involving 10 fifth-grade students, one teacher, a material expert, and a media expert as research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and student and teacher response questionnaires, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model of qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the developed product received a very feasible assessment from both validators, with a material expert validation score of 97.1% and a media expert validation score of 94.2%. Overall, the integration of local wisdom-based storybooks with AR technology received a positive response and was proven to be able to create a more meaningful, contextual, and interactive Indonesian language learning experience for elementary school students.

Abstract

This classroom action research was carried out to improve students' ability to express opinions by applying a quiz-based Discovery Learning model combined with a reward system in PPKn lessons for class VII-G at SMP Negeri 12 Malang. The study was conducted across two cycles, each consisting of two meetings, involving 32 students as the research subjects. Data were gathered through observation, documentation, and assessment sheets measuring students' ability to express opinions, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The findings revealed a steady improvement across cycles: from 47.9% in Cycle I Meeting 1 to 76.8% in Meeting 2, yielding a Cycle I average of 62.3%. In Cycle II, scores rose further to 78.3% in Meeting 1 and 88.2% in Meeting 2, with an average of 83.2%. These results confirm that the 75% success indicator was met in Cycle II. Overall, the quiz-based Discovery Learning model with a reward system proved effective in enhancing students' ability to express opinions as well as their participation and self-confidence in PPKn learning.

Abstract

This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, complemented by system testing procedures. Blackbox testing and product feasibility validation by experts were conducted to obtain responses regarding the suitability of the learning media. The objectives of this study were: 1) To determine the design of Android-based learning media for science subjects at SMPN 7 Surakarta; 2) To determine and assess the feasibility of the Android-based learning media design to increase learning interest among eighth-grade students at SMPN 7 Surakarta during the learning process. The results showed that the "EDU BUMI" learning media met the criteria of very suitable. The results obtained from material experts yielded an average percentage of 85%, from media experts an average percentage of 75%, and from educators an average percentage of 87%. Thus, the "EDU BUMI" learning media is considered suitable as an alternative learning resource to support the science learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan mengenal huruf pada murid Cerebral palsy tipe spastik kelas II di SLB YP3LB 2 Bangun Polea Maros. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan mengenal huruf sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan media ABC Blocks serta mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan mengenal huruf setelah penggunaan media tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah satu orang murid Cerebral palsy tipe spastik kelas II di SLB YP3LB 2 Bangun Polea Maros. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis yang diberikan sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) penggunaan media ABC Blocks, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan skor dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan mengenal huruf murid sebelum penggunaan media ABC Blocks berada pada kategori kurang dengan nilai pretest sebesar 20 (skor 2). Setelah diberikan pembelajaran menggunakan media ABC Blocks, kemampuan mengenal huruf meningkat menjadi kategori sangat baik dengan nilai posttest sebesar 100 (skor 10). Dengan demikian, media ABC Blocks terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal huruf pada murid Cerebral palsy tipe spastik kelas II di SLB YP3LB 2 Bangun Polea Maros.

Abstract

Watchkeeping duties plays an important role in ensuring navigational safety, particularly when a vessel encounters adverse weather conditions that can reduce visibility and affect ship stability. However, based on observations conducted on board MV. OPS ASTRID, the implementation of sea watchkeeping still faces several challenges, including an unbalanced watch schedule due to a limited number of officers and less optimal coordination between the bridge and the deck during extreme weather conditions. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of sea watchkeeping and identify the problems that arise when the vessel sails under adverse weather conditions. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through direct observation during the voyage, interviews with the Chief Officer, Second Officer, Bosun, and Able Seamen (AB), as well as a literature study referring to the provisions of STCW 2010 and COLREG 1972. The results indicate that sea watchkeeping on board MV. OPS ASTRID has generally been carried out in accordance with navigational safety procedures; however, its effectiveness is influenced by an unbalanced watch schedule and communication constraints between the bridge and the deck caused by adverse weather. These conditions may reduce the effectiveness of navigational supervision, indicating the need for adjustments to the watch schedule, improved communication between watchkeeping positions, and additional supervision to maintain navigational safety.

Abstract

Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) learning focuses not only on linguistic proficiency but also on developing pragmatic competence and intercultural awareness. This study aims to analyze the distribution, manifestations, and integration of local and national cultural elements contained in the "Catatan Budaya" (Cultural Notes) sub-sections of the B1 textbook "Sahabatku Indonesia," published by the Language Development and Fostering Agency. Grounded in E.B. Tylor's (1871) conceptualization of culture as a "complex whole" encompassing material and non-material dimensions, this qualitative descriptive study examined 12 learning units using content analysis. Data were collected through documentation study and text codification. The results indicate that the textbook systematically and proportionally presents local and national cultural elements. Local culture is manifested through material aspects such as traditional crafts ("Kain Songket") and performance props, as well as non-material aspects such as regional dances ("Saman," "Jaipong," "Tari Lilin"). National culture appears predominantly through non-material dimensions, including politeness norms, traditional medicine ("kerokan"), market interactions, and Independence Day traditions ("Panjat Pinang"). The integration of these cultural elements is closely aligned with grammatical structures (such as passive voice as a hedging strategy) and offers pedagogical implications for preventing pragmatic failure while fostering intercultural awareness among intermediate BIPA learners.

Abstract

Teacher discipline is one of the essential factors in improving the quality of education because it directly influences the effectiveness of the learning process. However, teacher discipline is often affected by the leadership style implemented by school principals. This study aimed to determine the effect of transformational leadership of the principal on teacher discipline at UPTD SD Negeri Maulafa. This research employed a quantitative approach using a causal associative design. The population consisted of 44 teachers, all of whom were selected as research respondents through total sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and linearity tests, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²) with the assistance of SPSS version 22. The findings indicated that transformational leadership was categorized as very good with an average score of 77.66, while teacher discipline was also categorized as very good with an average score of 69.50. The regression analysis produced the equation Y = 23.336 + 0.599X, indicating a positive relationship between transformational leadership and teacher discipline. Hypothesis testing showed tcount = 2.871 > ttable = 2.018 with a significance value of 0.006 < 0.05, indicating that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher discipline. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.164, meaning that transformational leadership contributed 16.4% to teacher discipline, while the remaining 83.6% was influenced by other variables outside this study.

Abstract

Human trafficking is a transnational crime that degrades human dignity, particularly among women and children. Although Law Number 21 of 2007 on the Eradication of Human Trafficking provides a firm legal instrument, trafficking cases within the jurisdiction of Polda Jambi continue to occur. This study aims to analyze the law enforcement of human trafficking within the jurisdiction of Polda Jambi, the obstacles and efforts involved, and the perspective of Islamic criminal law on this issue. An empirical juridical method was used, combining statutory, conceptual, and sociological approaches through library research and interviews with law enforcement officers. The results show that law enforcement has followed the stages of investigation through sentencing, yet remains suboptimal due to low public awareness in reporting, limited evidence, and increasingly digital methods used by perpetrators. From the perspective of Islamic law, human trafficking is prohibited as it violates the principles of protecting life (hifz al-nafs) and honor (hifz al-'ird), making perpetrators subject to ta'zir sanctions.

Abstract

This study examined the writing ability of an autistic student through the implementation of interactive wall writing media at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar. The study aimed to determine the student's writing ability before and after the implementation of interactive wall writing media and to describe the improvement achieved. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive research. The subject was one first-grade autistic student at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar. Data were collected using a performance test administered before and after the implementation of the media. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by comparing the pretest and posttest scores based on the predetermined assessment criteria. The results showed that before the implementation of interactive wall writing media, the student's writing ability was in the failed category with a score of 0. After the implementation through a structured learning process, the student obtained a score of 9 out of a maximum score of 12, equivalent to a value of 75 and categorized as good. The improvement was also observed in the student's ability to hold writing tools, follow writing patterns, maintain attention, and complete writing activities with reduced assistance. Thus, the implementation of interactive wall writing media improved the writing ability of the autistic student at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students' religious character at MTs Mamba'ul Ulum Karangsari Bantur, the strategies implemented, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The study was conducted at MTs Mamba'ul Ulum Karangsari Bantur, located in Gumukmas Hamlet, Karangsari Village, Bantur District, Malang Regency, East Java. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that Islamic Religious Education teachers play a significant role in shaping students' religious character by serving as educators, mentors, role models, motivators, and supervisors. The strategies implemented include habituating religious activities such as collective prayers, Qur'an recitation, congregational prayers, providing advice, demonstrating exemplary behavior, and supervising students' conduct. Supporting factors include the school's religious culture, a supportive community environment, and collaboration among teachers and the madrasah. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include the inconsistency of some students, the influence of technology and social media, and differences in students' family backgrounds. The study concludes that the development of students' religious character can be achieved effectively through consistent collaboration among schools, families, and the community.
