Abstract

The shift in artificial intelligence (AI) from automation tool to cognitive partner demands its use to strengthen critical reasoning, not just broaden information access. In vocational high schools (SMK), especially Office Management, critical thinking is vital for accurate administrative decision-making. Observations at SMK Mahardhika Surabaya revealed students often relied on internet searches without explaining the reasoning behind their answers, possibly due to low self-regulated learning. This study aimed to analyze the effects of self-regulated learning and AI ChatGPT usage on critical thinking skills. An explanatory quantitative approach was used with a sample of 158 students selected via proportional random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results showed: (1) self-regulated learning positively and significantly influenced critical thinking (β=0.492; p<0.05); (2) AI ChatGPT usage also had a positive significant effect (β=0.281; p<0.05); and (3) simultaneously, both contributed 26.6% (F=28.066; p<0.05). Self-regulated learning had a larger contribution. These findings confirm that integrating ChatGPT in learning is optimal when supported by strong self-regulated learning, enabling students to use AI as a tool for exploration and evaluation rather than an instant answer source.

Abstract

In the digital era, social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube have become the primary sources through which the millennial generation accesses religious information quickly, conveniently, and efficiently. This development has transformed traditional preaching (da'wah) methods into more interactive forms of digital da'wah through short videos, visual content, and various communication features. However, the ease of access also presents challenges related to behavioral changes, the quality of religious understanding, and the credibility of the information received by students. This study aims to analyze the social media platforms used by students of the Faculty of Da'wah at IAI AL-AZIS to access da'wah content and to examine their influence on students' behavioral changes. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using purposive sampling, involving six students as research informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube are the most frequently utilized platforms due to their accessibility, flexibility, and diverse da'wah content, including short videos, sermons, Islamic lectures, and motivational messages. The use of these platforms contributes positively to enhancing students' religious understanding, strengthening their religious attitudes, and improving their behavior, as reflected in increased discipline in worship, better moral conduct, greater ability to evaluate religious information critically, and the implementation of Islamic values in both social and academic life.

Abstract

Multiplication is one of the fundamental mathematical concepts that elementary school students must master as a foundation for learning more complex mathematical topics. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding multiplication concepts due to teacher-centered learning approaches and the limited use of interactive learning media. The rapid development of digital technology has created opportunities for utilizing mobile games as learning media that can enhance students' motivation and engagement. This study aims to analyze the utilization of mobile games in mathematics learning to improve elementary school students' understanding of multiplication concepts. The research employed a literature review method using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Articles were collected from various scientific databases and selected based on their relevance to digital game-based mathematics learning, with publication years ranging from 2020 to 2025. The findings indicate that the use of mobile games and educational games has a positive impact on students' understanding of mathematical concepts, learning motivation, engagement, and academic achievement. Mobile games provide a more interactive learning experience through repetitive practice, immediate feedback, and challenges that align with the characteristics of elementary school students. Therefore, mobile games have the potential to serve as an effective alternative learning medium for improving elementary school students' understanding of multiplication concepts.

Abstract

Public service is one of the fundamental functions of government in meeting the needs of society and is an important indicator of the success of government administration. As a government unit that interacts directly with the community, the sub-district office plays a strategic role in providing public services. However, initial observations at the Kadidi Sub-District Office, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, indicated a gap between community expectations and the implementation of services in practice, including procedures perceived as complicated, service completion that was not always timely, and information regarding service requirements that had not been communicated optimally. These conditions may reduce community satisfaction, highlighting the need for an empirical study of the effect of service quality on community satisfaction. This study aims to examine the quality of public services, assess the level of community satisfaction, and determine the effect of service quality on community satisfaction at the Kadidi Sub-District Office, Panca Rijang District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency. This study is based on the concept of public service stipulated in Law Number 25 of 2009, Kotler’s (2016) theory of service quality consisting of five dimensions, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, as well as the concept of community satisfaction measured through indicators of service procedures, service requirements, clarity of service officers, officer discipline, and service responsibility. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of 3,435 residents of Kadidi Sub-District, with a sample of 97 respondents determined using the Slovin formula with a 90% confidence level and a 10% margin of error, employing simple random sampling. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and literature review, and were subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, and simple linear regression analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results showed that the quality of public services at the Kadidi Sub-District Office was categorized as very good, with an achievement rate of 82.6%, while the level of community satisfaction was also categorized as very good, with an achievement rate of 81.6%. The reliability test indicated that both research instruments were valid and reliable, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.922 and 0.861, respectively. The regression analysis produced the equation Y = 4.671 + 0.678X, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.883, indicating a very strong and positive relationship, and an R Square value of 0.779, meaning that service quality explained 77.9% of the variation in community satisfaction. The F-test result (334.884; sig. 0.000) and t-test result (18.300; sig. 0.000) demonstrated that service quality had a positive and significant effect on community satisfaction; therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted.

Abstract

Children's paintings serve as a medium of visual expression that reflects not only aesthetic abilities but also psychological development. This study aims to describe aesthetic characteristics, reveal psychological dimensions, and analyze the relationship between aesthetic and psychological aspects in the paintings of fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Sekaran, drawing upon Viktor Lowenfeld's theory of artistic development. A descriptive qualitative approach utilizing a case study method was employed. Data were gathered through observations of art lessons, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of the students' artwork. From the 25 pieces produced, nine were purposively selected for analysis, representing high, medium, and basic categories. The analysis examined aesthetic elements—such as line, color, shape, and composition—and the psychological dimensions reflected in each work, based on Lowenfeld's theory. The results indicate that works in the high category exhibit a more structured and harmonious organization of visual elements; the medium category shows developing visual capabilities with some simplification of forms; and the basic category displays simple visual organization while still reflecting expressive ability. Psychologically, the artworks reflect the students' experiences, imagination, interests, and emotional responses to their surroundings. The findings demonstrate that aesthetic elements and psychological dimensions are interconnected in the creation of children's art; thus, these paintings can be understood as representations of aesthetic, cognitive, and psychological development progressing in stages, consistent with Viktor Lowenfeld's theory.
