Abstract

This study aimed to describe teachers’ roles, identify instructional strategies, and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in developing gender equity awareness among young children at KB/TK IT Cahaya Ummat Bergas. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. The data were obtained from five informants consisting of one headteacher, two teachers, and two parents. The researcher collected the data through non-participant observation, guided flexible interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. Data trustworthiness was established through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The findings showed that teachers served as role models of equitable behavior, facilitators of fairness values, guides of social interaction, protectors of emotional safety, and evaluators of children’s development. Teachers developed gender equity awareness through storytelling, role-play, simple discussions, thematic and collaborative activities, heterogeneous groups, open-ended questions, social-emotional approaches, and learning media representing diverse social roles. The implementation was supported by the headteacher’s commitment, teachers’ competence and collaboration, school regulations, parental support, an inclusive environment, learning media, and religious values. The process was constrained by children’s limited understanding of abstract concepts, teachers’ difficulties in simplifying language, the number of students, stereotypical comments from the surrounding environment, established habits, and parents’ limited time. The study concluded that teacher role-modelling, integrated instructional strategies, and consistent habituation across school and family environments contributed to the development of gender equity awareness from an early age. Keywords:teacher roles, gender equity awareness, early childhood, instructional strategies, early childhood education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing regional characteristic handicrafts on students’ creativity in Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) learning for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 39 Prabumulih. This research is motivated by the condition that students’ creativity in SBdP learning has not developed optimally due to the lack of utilization of learning activities based on local wisdom, resulting in students’ creative potential not being maximally explored. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design using a pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of 66 students divided into two groups: an experimental class of 34 students who received learning through the implementation of regional characteristic handicrafts and a control class of 32 students who did not receive the treatment. The independent variable in this study was the implementation of regional characteristic handicrafts, while the dependent variable was students’ creativity.Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and questionnaires (students’ creativity tests). The data were analyzed through prerequisite testing in the form of a normality test. Since one of the data sets was not normally distributed, hypothesis testing was continued using the nonparametric Mann–Whitney U Test. The results of the analysis showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is smaller than α = 0.05. These results indicate that the implementation of regional characteristic handicrafts has a significant effect on students’ creativity. Therefore, the implementation of regional characteristic handicrafts can be used as an effective alternative learning approach to improve students’ creativity in SBdP learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between logical thinking ability and mathematical ability on Informatics learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students at SMA Amal Mulia Boarding School Pekanbaru. This research was motivated by variations in students' Informatics learning outcomes as well as differences in their logical thinking and mathematical abilities. The study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto correlational method. The sample consisted of 66 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through logical thinking tests, mathematics tests, and Informatics learning outcome tests. The data were then analyzed using normality, homogeneity, linearity, heteroscedasticity, and multicollinearity test, Pearson product correlation and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicated that logical thinking ability had no significant relationship with Informatics learning outcomes (r = -0.049; Sig. = 0.697). Similarly, mathematical ability was not significantly related to Informatics learning outcomes (r = 0.100; Sig. = 0.423). Simultaneously, logical thinking ability and mathematical ability also showed no significant relationship with Informatics learning outcomes (Sig. = 0.677) with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.012. These findings indicate that both variables accounted for only 1.2% of the variance in Informatics learning outcomes, while the remaining 98.8% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. Therefore, logical thinking ability and mathematical ability were not significantly associated with the Informatics learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students at SMA Amal Mulia Boarding School Pekanbaru.

Abstract

The growing use of artificial intelligence in language learning has encouraged the development of digital tools that support academic writing, and Grammarly is one of the most widely used applications. This study explored EFL students’ perceptions of Grammarly as an AI-assisted writing tool in academic writing. A qualitative case study was conducted with seventeen fourth-semester students from the English Language Education Study Program at Universitas PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through classroom observation, questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings show that students generally perceived Grammarly positively because it helped them identify grammatical errors, improve sentence structure, and revise writing more efficiently. Grammarly also increased students’ confidence and supported more independent learning through immediate feedback. However, participants also reported several challenges, including inaccurate suggestions, dependence on internet connectivity, and the need to evaluate AI-generated feedback critically. The study concludes that Grammarly is a useful complementary tool that should support, not replace, instructors’ guidance. Integrating Grammarly into EFL writing instruction with appropriate pedagogical support may help improve students’ academic writing skills and promote learner autonomy.

Abstract

Articulation disorders are among the most common language development disorders in early childhood and may hinder children's communication skills, social interaction, and self-confidence. This study aimed to describe the implementation of articulation disorder stimulation through the Movement and Song of the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation at Anak Kita Preschool, Samarinda. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The participants consisted of five children aged 3–4 years with articulation disorders and three teachers serving as key informants. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the trustworthiness of the findings was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that articulation stimulation was implemented systematically through four stages: introduction, movement and song activities, repetition of target phonemes, and evaluation of children's progress. The song lyrics contained repeated dominant phonemes, including the vowels /a/, /i/, and /u/, and the consonants /b/, /m/, /t/, /k/, /n/, /r/, and /s/, with particular emphasis on the phonemes /r/, /s/, /k/, and /g/, which are commonly mispronounced by children aged 3–4 years. Repetitive singing combined with body movements helped children naturally improve the coordination of the tongue, lips, jaw, and breathing mechanisms in an enjoyable learning environment. Three of the five children demonstrated significant improvement in articulation skills, while the remaining two showed gradual progress. The effectiveness of the stimulation was supported by teachers' consistency, a positive learning atmosphere, and parental involvement. In contrast, children's emotional conditions, individual developmental differences, and limited attention spans were identified as the main inhibiting factors. The study concludes that the Movement and Song of the Seven Habits of Great Indonesian Children is an effective, enjoyable, and contextual medium for improving articulation skills in early childhood.

Abstract

The cultivation of nationalism among students has become increasingly important amid the rapid advancement of globalization and digital technology, which has influenced the attitudes and behavior of younger generations. Civic Education (PPKn) plays a strategic role in strengthening students' national identity and fostering the values embodied in the third principle of Pancasila, namely the Unity of Indonesia. This study aimed to examine how nationalism values are implemented through Civic Education learning at MA Al Fattahiyyah and to identify the factors influencing their implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that nationalism values are integrated into classroom instruction, teachers' role modeling, school routines, flag ceremonies, and other school cultural activities. These practices contribute to the development of students' patriotism, discipline, responsibility, mutual respect, cooperation, and appreciation of diversity. Nevertheless, the implementation is still challenged by the influence of globalization, the excessive use of social media, limited parental supervision, and varying levels of students' awareness. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, and the wider community is essential to strengthen the internalization of nationalism values and promote the practical implementation of the third principle of Pancasila in students' daily lives.
