Abstract

Critical thinking skills are among the skills that need to be developed in mathematics education; however, these skills remain relatively low among elementary school students, particularly when solving addition and subtraction word problems. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) method on students’ critical thinking skills in addition and subtraction topics in third grade at SDN 3 Simpen. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 31 third-grade students at SDN 3 Simpen during the 2025/2026 school year. Data were collected using critical thinking ability tests in the form of pretests and posttests, which were then analyzed through normality tests and hypothesis testing. The results of the study show that students’ average critical thinking scores increased from 28.226 on the pretest to 81.855 on the posttest. The normality test results indicated that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, hypothesis testing was conducted using the Mann–Whitney test. The test results indicate that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted, meaning that the implementation of the Realistic Mathematics Education method has an effect on students’ critical thinking skills in addition and subtraction. Thus, the Realistic Mathematics Education method can serve as an effective alternative teaching method to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstrak This Research examines the relationships among brand trust, brand experience, brand equity, and brand love within Indonesia’s automotive industry, based on responses from 374 consumers across five regions of Jakarta. Grounded in the Customer-Based Brand Equity (CBBE) framework and emotional branding theory, the study analyzes both direct and mediating effects of brand trust and brand experience on brand love, with brand equity as the mediating variable. Employing a quantitative, causal, and cross-sectional design under a post-positivist paradigm, data were collected through a validated 4-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS. The constructs measured include brand trust (credibility, transparency, consistency, reputation), brand experience (sensory, affective, cognitive, behavioral), brand equity (awareness, association, perceived quality), and brand love (attachment, identification, loyalty, advocacy). Findings reveal that brand trust and brand experience significantly and positively influence brand equity and brand love. Moreover, brand equity partially mediates these relationships, demonstrating its crucial role in translating trust and experiential perceptions into emotional attachment. The model showed strong reliability and validity (Cronbach’s α > 0.80, AVE > 0.50, CR > 0.85)..

Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a conducive learning environment so that students can actively develop their abilities and potential. One important aspect in shaping a person's character is the level of faith, and religiosity is reflected not only in the performance of worship but also in a person's spiritual experience and in how religious values are applied in daily social life. Although SMAN 20 Jakarta Pusat has established the Rohani Islam (ROHIS) organization as a forum for religious guidance, there has been no specific study analyzing the role of ROHIS in influencing students' religious attitudes from three main aspects, namely the practice, experience, and consequence dimensions. This study applied a qualitative approach with a descriptive method designed in the form of a case study. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving seven informants, namely the ROHIS advisor, the ROHIS chairperson, four active ROHIS members, and an Islamic Education teacher, and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model consisting of data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results show that ROHIS plays an important role in improving students' religiosity at SMA Negeri 20 Jakarta Pusat through guidance in the practice, experience, and consequence dimensions. These three dimensions developed in an integrated manner through sustainable ROHIS programs, supported by the exemplary conduct of advisors and administrators as well as the active involvement of all members.
