Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools has brought positive impacts on learning approaches, one of which is the emphasis on independent learning. This study aims to identify the challenges faced by students in optimizing independent learning in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used is descriptive, with data collected through interviews and documentation. The findings indicate that students face difficulties in learning independently. Factors such as social background, cognitive abilities, and the presence of students with special needs (SEN) influence the effectiveness of independent learning. SDN Kuin Cerucuk 1 has 22 students with special needs who are supported by five specialized teachers. This assistance is a positive step in ensuring they continue to receive equal access to education. Regular students also face challenges, such as being reluctant to communicate their learning difficulties. Factors that can enhance the effectiveness of independent learning include the school’s efforts in providing guidance and the involvement of parents in the learning process. The lack of material review at home and minimal parental support also contribute to students’ slow understanding of lessons taught in class.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini memiliki tujuan untuk meningkatkan capaian belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran matematika melalui penggunaan model Project Based Learning (PjBL). Kegiatan ini berlangsung di SD Negeri 117 Pekanbaru dengan mengikut sertakan 27 peserta didik kelas V sebagai subjek. Alasan utama dilaksanakannya penelitian tersebut adalah rendahnya hasil capaian belajar serta kurang aktifnya peserta didik dalam belajar matematika, yang merupakan pengaruh dari metode belajar yang berorientasi pada guru. Model penelitian yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini diadopsi dari Kemmis dan McTaggart, yang tersusun atas empat tahapan sistematis, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Keempat tahapan ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus untuk memperoleh hasil yang optimal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, evaluasi, dan dokumentasi. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam hasil belajar peserta didik: nilai rata-rata meningkat dari 52,96 pada pra-siklus menjadi 79,62 pada siklus pertama, dan menjadi 80,00 di siklus kedua. Persentase peserta didik yang melewati kriteria ketuntasan belajar naik dari 48,5% menjadi 81,48% dan kemudian 88,89%. Model PjBL tidak hanya berdampak positif terhadap pencapaian akademik peserta didik, tetapi juga mendorong keterlibatan, kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta kerja sama. Oleh sebab itu, penerapan PjBL dapat menjadi strategi yang sangat efektif untuk menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang bermakna bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

Educational reform is a systematic process of changing the education system to adapt to the evolving needs of society and technological advancements. In the context of Islamic education, this reform is crucial to ensure that Islamic values remain relevant and applicable in the digital age. This article explores the implications of educational reform on the integration of technology in Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach and literature review as the primary method, the study finds that technology integration enhances the effectiveness of learning, expands access, and enriches teaching methods. However, successful implementation requires adequate preparation in terms of teachers’ competencies, curriculum development, and supporting infrastructure, all while maintaining alignment with Islamic principles.

Abstract

Hasan Turabi's thoughts on the fiqh of democracy offer an integrative approach between Islamic principles and modern democratic systems of government. He emphasizes that democracy in Islam must be based on shura (deliberation), which allows for the active participation of the people in political decision-making. In the concept of fiqh of democracy developed, Turabi emphasizes several key aspects, namely the application of sharia through consensus (ijma'), respect for the freedoms and rights of the people, social justice, and separation of powers to prevent authoritarianism. These principles were designed to keep the Islamic political system relevant to the demands of modernity without abandoning the fundamental teachings of the religion. His thought is significant for Muslim countries that are still seeking a balance between Islamic values and contemporary democratic systems. Through a literature review of his works and several related sources, this article explores how fiqh of democracy can be an alternative solution in building a more inclusive, just, and participation-oriented system of government. Thus, Turabi's thoughts can be relevant to be the main reference in efforts to integrate Islam and democracy in modern politics, providing a new perspective in equitable governance.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to enhance students’ communication skills in Buddhist Religious Education at SMA Negeri 1 Girimulyo, Indonesia. Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, the research was conducted in two cycles involving three Buddhist students from Grade XI. The study employed observation, interviews, and documentation to collect qualitative and quantitative data, focusing on key indicators of communication skills such as effective expression, active listening, interpersonal interaction, and clarity. Findings from the first cycle indicated limited student participation, low self-confidence, and challenges in articulating ideas. After pedagogical refinements and full integration of the PBL model in the second cycle, student performance improved significantly. The average communication score rose from 65.67% in Cycle I to 73.44% in Cycle II. Students became more active in discussions, demonstrated increased confidence during presentations, and responded more effectively to their peers. The results demonstrate that PBL not only promotes student engagement but also fosters meaningful learning through culturally relevant content. This approach enables students to connect Buddhist values with real-world issues, enhancing both their cognitive and moral development. Therefore, PBL is a promising strategy for religious education, especially in minority contexts, offering a dynamic model that supports critical thinking, collaboration, and ethical reflection.

Abstract

Creativity is one of the key skills required in the 21st century. Based on observations conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Malangjiwan, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Central Java, pupils’ creativity remains low due to the use of less appropriate learning models. Creativity helps pupils to develop meaningful and high-quality ideas. Therefore, teachers must be able to design learning experiences that can enhance pupils' creative thinking. One example of a learning model that can foster students’ creativity is Project Based Learning (PjBL). The aim of this study is to improve pupils’ creativity through the implementation of the Project Based Learning model. This research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach. The creativity assessment instrument is based on the framework developed by the OECD. Data analysis techniques used include the paired sample t-test and the N-gain test. The results show a difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. The N-gain test analysis yielded a score of 0.5, indicating a moderate increase in pupils’ creativity.

Abstract

This study aims: 1) To determine the differences in cognitive learning outcomes between students in the experimental class using the scramble method and students in the control class using the conventional method in third grade at SDN 88 Singkawang; 2) To determine the extent of the influence of the scramble learning method on the cognitive learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN 88 Singkawang. The research design used was post-test only. The population consisted of all third-grade students at SDN 88 Singkawang, totaling 48 students. The research instruments included a post-test on cognitive learning outcomes in Social Studies and a Lesson Plan. The prerequisite tests applied normality and homogeneity tests with a significance level of 5% (0.05), and hypothesis testing was conducted using a two-sample t-test and effect size analysis. The results showed that the t-test obtained t-count = 4.059 and t-table = 2.012, where t-count > t-table (4.059 > 2.012), indicating that Ha was accepted. This shows that there is a difference in the cognitive learning outcomes in Social Studies between the experimental and control classes. The effect size test result was 1.68, indicating that the scramble learning method had a high category influence on the cognitive learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam membentuk karakter manusia di era Revolusi Industri 4.0, di mana teknologi dan globalisasi membawa tantangan baru dalam pembentukan moral dan etika individu. Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada pentingnya pendidikan Agama Islam dalam membimbing generasi muda untuk mengembangkan karakter yang berintegritas, bertanggung jawab, dan mampu menghadapi pergeseran nilai akibat perkembangan teknologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan studi pustaka dan wawancara mendalam terhadap ahli PAI serta praktisi pendidikan untuk memperoleh gambaran menyeluruh mengenai implementasi pendidikan karakter berbasis agama dalam kurikulum PAI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun teknologi dan media digital membawa pengaruh besar terhadap generasi muda, pendidikan Agama Islam tetap relevan dan berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter siswa melalui ajaran moral dan etika Islam yang menekankan tanggung jawab sosial, empati, dan disiplin. Kurikulum PAI yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi serta pengembangan literasi digital dapat membantu siswa memilah informasi yang baik dan membangun karakter yang kokoh. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa PAI dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam membentuk karakter siswa di era Revolusi 4.0, asalkan kurikulumnya terus disesuaikan dengan perkembangan zaman, memanfaatkan teknologi untuk mendukung proses pendidikan karakter yang berbasis pada nilai-nilai agama

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kurang aktif dalam menyampaikan ide-ide mereka dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan pendidik belum optimal sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas III pada mata pelajaran IPAS di SD Negeri 6 Metro Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas III sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu (quasi eksperimen design) dengan desain penelitian non equivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas III yang berjumlah 92 peserta didik. Penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu dengan jumlah 46 peserta didik. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan pendekatan science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis IPAS pada peserta didik kelas III di SD Negeri 6 Metro Barat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kualitas dan mutu dalam pendidikan yang berbasis radikal dan anarkis, di mana perubahan sosial dan ideologi ekstrem dapat mempengaruhi sistem pendidikan secara keseluruhan, terutama dalam hal pencapaian tujuan pendidikan yang efektif dan pengembangan karakter siswa. Latar belakang penelitian ini berfokus pada fenomena meningkatnya ideologi radikal yang dapat memengaruhi kualitas pendidikan, terutama dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang sehat dan kondusif untuk pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana kualitas pendidikan yang diterapkan dalam sistem pendidikan yang radikal dan anarkis berhubungan dengan mutu pendidikan yang dihasilkan, serta dampaknya terhadap pembentukan karakter dan pola pikir siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan analisis dokumen yang relevan, serta observasi terhadap praktik pendidikan di lingkungan yang berbasis radikal dan anarkis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pendidikan dalam lingkungan tersebut seringkali terdistorsi oleh pengaruh ideologi yang mengarah pada ketidakstabilan, yang berdampak pada rendahnya mutu pendidikan yang dihasilkan, termasuk karakter siswa yang terbentuk. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan yang berbasis radikal dan anarkis dapat mengurangi kualitas dan mutu pendidikan, karena menghambat pengembangan potensi siswa secara maksimal dan menciptakan ketegangan dalam sistem pendidikan yang sehat dan seimbang
