Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) with the assistance of the Wordwall educational game on the interest and learning outcomes of fourth-grade IPAS students in elementary schools. This research employs a Quasi Experimental Design utilizing a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 16 students from class IV at SDN Pakintelan 03 and 20 students from class IV at SDN Pakintelan 02 in Semarang City. Both groups were comparable in terms of initial abilities prior to treatment. After treatment, the experimental group showed statistically significant differences in average interest and learning scores compared to the control group, as evidenced by significance tests yielding a p-value of <0.05. The results of hypothesis testing regarding the effectiveness of interest and learning outcomes also yielded a significance value of <0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the problem-based learning model supported by the educational game Wordwall is effective for IPAS learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

In general, the implementation of Indonesian language learning in junior high schools currently often experiences obstacles. The facts that occur show that Indonesian is still a subject that is difficult to understand when seen from the students' learning outcomes. This is known based on researchers' observations at SMP Negeri 4 Surabaya that student learning outcomes in Indonesian language subjects are still relatively low. This is caused by the inappropriate method of teaching Indonesian that is presented so that it does not attract students' interest in learning Indonesian. This research is classroom action research. In the collection that will be carried out, test, observation and documentation techniques will be used. The results of the entire cycle show that there has been an increase in various aspects, namely the average score, classical completeness, and the number of students completing. Before being given the Snowball Throwing method in Inquiry-based teaching, the total number of students completing was 11 out of a total of 32 students with a completeness percentage of 35.5% and an average score of 69.76. In cycle 1, the total number of students completing was 19 out of a total of 32 students with a completion percentage of 65.2% and an average score of 65%. In cycle 2, the number of complete students obtained was 28 out of a total of 32 students with a complete percentage of 80.34% and an average score of 83.58.

Abstract

Research conducted to develop, test the feasibility, and measure the effectiveness of flashcard learning media in improving science and social science (Natural and Social Sciences) learning outcomes. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) following the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The research subjects were class V of SDN Sekaran 01 Semarang with 28 students. The data collection techniques used were tests (pretest and posttest) and non-tests (observation, interviews, questionnaires). Data analysis techniques use normality test, t-test, and N-Gain test. The research results explain: (1) flashcard learning media was developed using the Canva application which contains a packaging display, front cover display, instructions for use display, information display, picture card display, and assignment display; (2) the results of the validity test of material experts, media experts, teacher responses, and student responses received the very appropriate category; (3) and effectiveness is shown from the results of the analysis of pretest and posttest scores. The t-test results have a sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05. The N-Gain test result is 0.6067 in the medium category. In this research, it can be concluded that the development of Flashcard learning media has been successfully developed, is very feasible, and is effectively used to improve the science and science learning outcomes of class V students at SDN Sekaran 01 Semarang.

Abstract

Research was carried out to describe and analyze the application of Bruner's cognitive development theory to mathematics learning about multiplication in elementary schools. Descriptive qualitative research method. The research was conducted at SDN 03 Ngepungsari with the research subjects being class teachers and class II students. Data was collected through interviews, documentation and observation and then analyzed according to the Milles and Hubberman model. The research results show that Bruner's theory of cognitive development can be applied to mathematics learning in elementary schools to enrich students' learning experiences in a more meaningful and contextual way. Through in-depth observations and interviews, it was found that the use of enactive, iconic and symbolic representations allows students to understand the concept of multiplication in stages, starting from manipulating concrete objects to using mathematical symbols, so that various factors that cause problems in learning mathematics can be minimized. Students understand the material more easily, are motivated to discover concepts independently according to their level of cognitive development, are more enthusiastic and active in learning. Thus, Bruner's approach has proven effective in creating an inclusive learning environment and supporting students' cognitive development at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Numeracy skills are competencies that play an important role in supporting the quality of a nation. This skill is the focus of learning in the field of education, especially at the basic education level. The background of this study is based on the results of observations and interviews with fifth grade teachers of SD Islam Cahaya Ilmu showing that students' numeracy skills still need to be improved. Students look less active in participating in learning related to counting, less focused, bored and bored and even sleepy so that students still have difficulty in understanding story problems related to calculation. This research aims to develop media as well as test the validity, feasibility and effectiveness of monopoly media of adventurous traces with local wisdom of Semarang city. This research is a type of RnD research with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research sample used was class VA as the experimental class and class VB as the control class with a total of 24 students. The data collection technique uses qualitative data obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires / surveys and quantitative data obtained through validity and effectiveness tests from the validation results of media experts, material experts and linguists as well as teacher and student responses related to the use of media. The results showed that the results of testing the prerequisites of research analysis using the normality test with the aim of knowing the distribution of normally distributed data or not. This test uses the shapiro wilk test because the data used is less than 50 with the help of Ms. Excel and SPSS 29. Based on the results of the normality test, the data obtained from the experimental class pretest results of 0.88 and posttest of 0.092, this shows that the data is normally distributed because the results obtained are more than the significance level of 0.05. Homogeneity test using SPSS is using Levene with the results of 0.758 (pretest) and 0.635 (Posttest) which means more than 0.05, meaning that the data from the pretest and posttest results are homogeneous. The results of the media expert validity test obtained a score of 4.7 in the very feasible category, material experts showed a score of 4.19 including the feasible category and linguists 4 classified as feasible. The results of the experts' validation show that this media is feasible, practically effective and significant to improve students' numeracy skills. Abstract

With the development of the current education curriculum, teachers and educators must use HOTS questions more in the learning and assessment process. Students do not just passively remember or understand information; these questions encourage them to apply, analyze, evaluate, and create based on the material they have learned It is anticipated that the intellectual capacities of students encompass not only extensive and profound analytical skills but also the capability to address emerging challenges in a continuously evolving world. This research delves into the competence of students to resolve questions categorized under HOTS at the C4, C5, and C6 levels, as outlined in Bloom’s taxonomy, utilizing a quantitative descriptive approach. Findings from this investigation reveal that fifth-grade students at UPT SDN Panyirapan demonstrate proficient problem-solving skills in science-related HOTS queries, achieving an average score of 71.55 across each HOTS level.

Abstract

The problem of students' initial reading learning difficulties has an impact on learning outcomes and the smoothness of the teaching and learning process. For this reason, so that students are able to read and do not miss out on lessons and are able to understand the material presented by the teacher, teachers must play a role and make every effort to overcome students who have difficulty reading so that students do not experience delays in receiving learning in class. The aim of this research is to analyze the role of teachers in overcoming difficulties in learning to read at the beginning of elementary school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the research results obtained, teachers at SDIT Roudhotul Jannah Kota Bekasi have carried out their roles as best as possible by providing structured teaching, using multisensory learning methods, providing direct feedback, intervening early, creating a positive learning environment and involving parents.
