Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the parenting styles applied by parents in broken home families and their impact on children's self-confidence. Broken home phenomena have been increasing and have significant implications for children's psychological development, particularly in the area of self-confidence, which is a key factor in academic and social success. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study design at SDN 2 Majidi. The participants consisted of two children from broken home families, their parents, and teachers as supporting informants. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation of children's daily activities and interactions with parents and teachers. Data analysis was carried out using Miles & Huberman's interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was checked using triangulation of sources and techniques to ensure credibility and reliability of the findings. The results indicate two dominant parenting styles in broken home families, namely permissive and authoritarian. Children raised with permissive parenting often experience low self- confidence due to a lack of guidance, supervision, and emotional support. On the other hand, children raised under authoritarian parenting also display low self- confidence as a result of emotional pressure, strict control, and limited opportunities to express themselves freely. This study highlights the importance of parents adopting a democratic parenting style that provides balanced support and guidance. In addition, schools and teachers play a crucial role in providing counseling, emotional support, and motivation to children from broken home families. The findings of this research have implications for the development of parent training programs and school-based interventions aimed at fostering a supportive environment that enhances children'sself-confidence.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the use of conventional learning media that rely solely on textbooks, which are not well suited to the visual and multitasking mindsets of today's students. This situation has resulted in low student achievement in history learning. The research question is how to develop the history wheel learning media for the material on the Formation of the State and Government of the Republic of Indonesia, including the Global and National Conditions leading up to Independence, the Formation of the BPUPKI, the Nine-Person Committee, and the Jakarta Charter (June 1945), the Proclamation of Independence, the PPKI Session, and the Formation of the BKR/TKR and Initial Institutions in class XII C2 of SMA N 12 Bungo. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the 4-D model (define, design, development, disseminate). The research subjects consisted of 23 students in class XII C2 of SMA N 12 Bungo. The research results showed: (1) the validation test obtained an average score of 89.8% with the category “very valid”, covering media feasibility aspects 86.7%, material feasibility 92%, and language feasibility 90.8%; (2) the practicality test for teachers obtained a score of 42 with a percentage of 93.3% in the “very practical” category; (3) student responses achieved a score of 1142 with a percentage of 90.28% in the “very practical” category. Abstract

This study was motivated by the low academic performance of 11th grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Batipuh, particularly those in class XI F6, whose average scores were still below the minimum passing grade of 80. The problems identified were the lack of variety in the teaching models used by teachers and the minimal interaction among students, resulting in a lack of in-depth understanding of historical material. The objective of this study is to describe the implementation of the Cooperative Script learning model assisted by Mind Mapping to enhance student activity and understanding in history learning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, employing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documentation, and triangulation. The research subjects are students in class XI F6 during the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the application of Cooperative Script assisted by Mind Mapping can create a more active, interactive, and focused learning environment. Students become more confident in expressing their opinions, more active in discussions, and find it easier to understand the material through mind mapping visualization. The challenge encountered is that some students remain passive; however, overall, this model is effective in improving students' understanding of the material, memory retention, and communication skills compared to the lecture method.
