Abstract

This research is aimed at developing and validating instruments to measure ecoliteracy capabilities, so that this research can produce a product in the form of a measurement instrument that has been validated and is used for measuring the ability to ecoliterate students. This research and development uses the ADDIE development method. This instrument is based on the Basic Competence of Class X Biology lessons, which consists of three dimensions of ecoliteracy. Based on 30 issues developed, there are 18 right and 12 wrong. The results of the analysis were obtained 15 questions on the dimension of knowledge, 2 questions about the dimensions of concern, and 1 questions about practical competence dimensions. Based on the differential power test, there were six bad criteria, six sufficient, three good and three very good criteria. The empirical validation was conducted by conducting trials on 36 students in the 11th grade of Mother of the Holy Heart High School in Jakarta, which were then analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The reliability test result was 0.80 using the Kuder Richardson-20 (KR-20) formula that falls within the very high criteria. It shows that the ecoliteracy measurement instrument developed is worthy of use to the students.

Abstract

Environmental literacy is a learning approach that utilizes the environment as a learning resource. This approach connects the environment in teaching and learning activities where the environment acts as a learning resource. Based on the results of the analysis in previous research, the researcher knows that the condition of the ability or literacy level of the student's environment is still classified as medium and low. There is still a low and moderate level of student environmental literacy, so efforts are needed to develop environmental literacy. Researchers assume that the development of these abilities can be built with teaching materials based on environmental literacy. This teaching material is used in Hybrid environmental pollution courses using MOLS (Mulawarman Online Learning System). This research is a type of development research with the ADDIE procedure or model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This research was conducted at FKIP Mulawarman University for approximately 7 months. Starting from conducting environmental literacy tests to developing teaching materials in the environmental literacy domain. Based on the results of the material expert validation it is known that teaching materials get a feasibility score of 92.10%, and from the validation results the media experts get a score93.75%. So it can be concluded that the teaching materials developed in the domain of environmental literacy are very worth it to be used as a learning media. Keywords: Hybrid Teaching Materials, Environmental Pollution, Environmental Literacy, the ADDIE model.

Abstract

The depletion of fossil fuel resources, in addition to the growing demand for energy, has prompted the development of renewable energies, including bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass. The acid pretreatment of hemicellulose releases inhibiting compounds in addition to xylose. With the possibility of exploitation of lignocellulose as a fermentation substrate, we isolated an Enterobacter characterized by its ability to ferment xylose and tolerate high concentrations of inhibitors. The selection was performed in media containing different carbon and energy sources; glucose, cellobiose, CMC, furfural and 5-HMF. Characterization strategies of the selected strain such as, xylose concentration (from 25 g liter-1 to 100 g liter-1), furfural (0 mM to 25 mM), cell immobilization, were used to quantify the maximum yield of ethanol produced. The results obtained show that our strain can ferment up to 100 g liter-1 of xylose in the presence of 20 mM furfural at 37°C to produce ethanol with a maximum yield of 2.22 g liter- 1 for 24 h under 160 rpm magnetic stirring. The results obtained in this study suggest that the isolated Enterobacter sp. is a promising strain for the bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass pretreatment hydrolysate into bioethanol.

Abstract

Regeneration is a form of regrowth that organisms have to replace damaged cell parts. Lizard (Mabouya multifasiata) suborder Lacertilia and Lizzos (Hemidactylus Platyurus) has the ability to autotomize the tail as a self-defense mechanism. This study aims to obtain information about cell regeneration during autotomy of male lizards (M.multifasiata) and Lizzos (H.platyurus). This research was conducted at the Biology Laboratory of UIN Raden Fatah and Dyatnitalis Laboratory Palembang. This research method is Quantitative Descriptive, which describes the results of morphometric measurements of morphology and the development of tail cell histology tissue M.multifasiata and H.Platyurus. The results of each tail : M. multifasiata, morphometric measurements obtained morphological forms on the head (HeadL) with a head length of 2-3 cm, the body (AGL) is generally blackish brown with yellowish green color tones with a length of 8 cm, and the tail (TaiL) is black from the base of the cloaca to the tip of the tail with a length of 10-12 cm with a skin surface covered with fine scales. Based on cell examination data with Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining showed the development of cell regeneration taken from Day 1 which is called the initial sample, the 15th tail results and the 30th tail results days after autotomy showed cell growth on day 15 with the discovery of muscle cells (muscles), fat tissue (perivertebral fat tissue), cartilage (cartilagous tube), central nervous system (meninx) and Ependimal cells (ependymal cell). The ability to regenerate tail cells is compiled from the number of accretions of cartilage cells (cartilagous tube) that are perfect on the 15th and 30th days. H. platyurus, morphology is the shape of the head (HeadL), the snout is longer than the distance from the eye to the ear. Oval shape of the ear canal. Morphometry of the H. platyurus body part (AGL), in general the body (AGL) is gray with varying light and dark patterns on the dorsal side. On the ventral side tends to be light yellowish. On the tail, flat shape with sharp sides and covered by the same small scales. Based on the results of cell observations with HE staining, it showed        the growth and development of cells in the 15th tail, on the 30th day it showed the presence of muscle cells (muscles), fat tissue (perivertebral fat tissue), cartilage (cartilaginous tube), the central nervous system (meninx) and ependymal cells. The ability to regenerate lizard cells is arranged by the perfect cartilage (cartilaginous tube) on day 30.
