Abstract

This study aims to: 1) analyze the managerial strategies of madrasah principals in planning teacher competency development, 2) explore the implementation of these strategies, and 3) identify supporting and inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The study was conducted at MAN Kepulauan Selayar, involving madrasah principals, teachers, and related parties. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study results indicate that madrasah principals play a strategic role in developing teacher competency through three main strategies: conducting training and workshops, supervising and monitoring performance, and providing motivation and rewards. Madrasah principals send teachers to attend external training organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and universities. Supervision is carried out periodically to ensure the implementation of training outcomes, while rewards are given to increase teacher motivation. Supporting factors include the commitment of madrasah principals and teachers, partnerships with external institutions, and support from the school community. However, this study also found inhibiting factors, such as budget constraints, time constraints, remote geographic locations, and limited access to technology and training.

Abstract

Teacher work culture is a key component in achieving educational quality at schools. School principals play a strategic role in shaping and improving productive work culture. This research aims to analyze the principal's management in enhancing teacher work culture at MI Darul Hikmah in Bone Regency. The research method employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, using data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings reveal that the principal applied a transformational approach through periodic supervision, motivation provision, and creating a collaborative work environment. Supporting factors include the principal's strong commitment, availability of learning facilities, and positive interactions among teachers. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include teacher tardiness, high workloads with low compensation, and limited learning resources, particularly for the Merdeka Curriculum. To address these challenges, the principal implemented a duty roster system, personal approaches, and encouraged collaboration between senior and junior teachers. Additionally, the principal initiated teacher professionalism development programs through training and seminars to improve teaching quality. Regular evaluations were conducted to ensure the effectiveness of the implemented strategies. The research recommends strengthening coordination, improving evaluation systems, and developing sustainable programs to support productive teacher work culture.

Abstract

The phenomenon of consumerism has become a significant challenge for modern Muslim society, especially in the context of increasingly widespread globalization. This research examines the impact of consumerism driven by Western materialism on Islamic identity and principles, as well as the challenges faced by the Muslim generation in balancing contemporary lifestyle demands with Islamic values. Data indicates that 73% of Muslims in urban areas experience difficulties in this regard, exacerbated by the penetration of social media promoting a consumptive lifestyle. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach using literature review methods, involving the collection of data from various written sources to analyze the interaction between Islamic values and consumerism. The findings suggest a crisis of identity, excessive consumptive behavior, and negative impacts on the mental health of the Muslim generation. Therefore, there is a need for the reformulation of Islamic education curriculum that integrates spiritual values, digital economic literacy education based on Sharia principles, and community-based psychological intervention models. It is hoped that this research can contribute to shaping a resilient Muslim generation against the influences of consumerism without losing its Islamic identity.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of work discipline, motivation, and work environment on the performance of mining supervisors at PT. Cristian Eka Pratama, East Kalimantan. The mining industry in Indonesia has experienced rapid growth, especially in Kalimantan, which is rich in coal reserves. Given the important role of mining supervisors, this study aims to analyze how work discipline, motivation, and work environment affect supervisor performance. This research is crucial as mining supervisors face high-risk work environments and must adhere to safety standards while managing daily operations. The study uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis to explore how these factors—work discipline, motivation, and work environment—contribute to performance. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed to determine the impact of these factors on performance. The results of the study show that work discipline, work motivation, and work environment have a significant impact on supervisor performance. It is expected that these results will provide valuable insights into improving human resource management in the mining sector, particularly in enhancing supervisor performance.

Abstract

The involvement of three pillars in tourism management: government, community, and private sector. Collaboration between these three pillars is crucial for creating a sustainable tourism industry, providing economic benefits for local communities, and preserving culture and the environment. One tourism sector that attracts visitors is the Ketenger Tourism Village in Banyumas Regency. Ketenger Village holds a wealth of natural and cultural potential supported by the ability and capacity of the tourism village's institutions to manage this potential. The purpose of this study is to determine the collaboration process in the development of the Ketenger Tourism Village. This study uses a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Secondary data to support the research were obtained through data available in journals, articles, newspapers, or online news. The results show that the Collaborative Governance process, which includes five indicators, has not been optimally implemented, particularly in the aspects of commitment to the process and shared understanding. However, other indicators have been running well in accordance with the government's pattern in developing the region, which will have an impact on the progress of the Ketenger Tourism Village.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dynamics of the Monday night religious gathering that studies Al-Hikam by Ibn 'Atha'illah as-Sakandari through a phenomenological approach. The research focuses on three main aspects: (1) understanding Al-Hikam as a guide for life through the lens of intuitive spirituality, (2) the ritual structure of the gathering as a religious tradition, and (3) the spiritual magnetism that consistently draws participants. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and field study at Pondok Pesantren Kebon Sari, Kediri. The findings reveal that the gathering serves not only as a space for textual learning but also as a powerful medium for inner transformation. The internalization of Sufi values such as trust in God, sincerity, and patience combined with the charisma of the spiritual teacher and the solemn atmosphere of the gathering creates a profound spiritual experience. This gathering significantly contributes to inner peace, the strengthening of faith, and harmonious social relations, offering a transformative and contextually relevant model of spiritual education amidst the existential crises of modern society.

Abstract

Fazlur Rahman, a leading Islamic thinker of the 20th century, proposed the concept of double movement as an important structure for analyzing the relationship between tradition and modernity in Islamic thought. The term “double movement” reflects Rahman's theory that the evolution of Islamic society included two fundamental movements. This type of research is qualitative research, using library research methods or also called literature review research with a character study approach. Fazlur Rahman's concept of double movement encapsulates the belief that the understanding and interpretation of Islamic teachings must occur in two areas: The First implies a commitment to the written sources and essential doctrines of Islam, while the Second movement represents the rapid adaptation of these teachings into everyday life. day. This theoretical picture stems from a critique of static interpretations of religious texts, which are believed to fall into dogmatism and ignore the experiences of individuals and society. The dual movement theory tries to align Islamic teachings with the needs of contemporary life. The double movement, as articulated by Fazlur Rahman, serves as an important structure for understanding the relationship between traditional texts and contemporary social challenges.

Abstract

The Khatib (Friday prayer preachers) Training of Trainers (ToT) activity conducted by Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java Province is aimed at improving the leadership and communication skills of Khatib in West Java Province in improving the level of Islamic economics and finance (Eksyar) understanding. The participants of this activity were 300 people consisting of Islamic boarding school representatives, Islamic community organizations, and the Indonesian Mosque Council of West Java Province. One of the challenges in Eksyar development is related to the low understanding or literacy of the community regarding Eksyar which was only 9.14% and the weak market share of Islamic economics when compared to conventional economics nationally. The key success of this Khatib ToT is the competency of speakers and the time efficiency given by the committee so that the activity was carried out in a comprehensive manner for 1 (one) day. In developing the program, collaboration with vertical and horizontal institutions was needed such as OJK, KNEKS, KDEKS of West Java Province, PT. Bank Syariah Indonesia, Tbk., MES of West Java Province, academics, and other stakeholders. Increasing understanding of Eksyar literacy is expected to encourage Indonesia's potential globally related to the development of the sharia industry.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of understanding the Islamic jurisprudence of worship in the implementation of Hajj rituals, considering that Indonesia is the country with the largest number of Hajj pilgrims in the world. Singgahan District, Tuban Regency, was designated as the center for inter-district provision, presenting a new dynamic that is interesting to study from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence of worship, particularly the consistency of the application of the Shafi'i school of thought. This study aims to evaluate how the implementation of the provision of Hajj ritual practices is carried out systematically and whether pilgrims truly understand the Islamic jurisprudence aspects of their Hajj rituals. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the provision is carried out with a structured management pattern, the Islamic jurisprudence material is delivered according to the Shafi'i school of thought, and the guides strive to avoid the practice of talfiq so that the pilgrims' worship is valid according to sharia. The policy of combining provision between sub-districts has proven effective in improving the quality of guidance and resource efficiency, although it still faces challenges such as differences in the educational background of pilgrims and geographical accessibility. Education on rukhshah is also provided in emergency situations while maintaining the boundaries of the madhhab (Islamic school of thought). The results of this study are important as a reference for developing a national Hajj training strategy that is based on Islamic jurisprudence, effective, and contextualized to local conditions.
