Abstract

Addressing children’s emotional well-being is crucial for fostering healthy psychological development and optimizing their capacity to thrive in academic settings. However, traditional classroom routines often overlook the role of self-awareness and emotion regulation, especially for younger learners. This study aims to analyze the impact of a mindfulness-based intervention on reducing anxiety and improving self-regulation among primary school children. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving students who were assigned to either an experimental group receiving mindfulness training or a control group with no such intervention. Anxiety and self-regulation were measured using validated psychological scales before and after the intervention. Multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used to assess the overall effect of the mindfulness program on both dependent variables. The results revealed that students who underwent mindfulness training demonstrated significantly lower levels of anxiety and improved self-regulation compared to the control group. The findings suggest that mindfulness practices help children develop greater emotional awareness, calmness, and behavioral control, contributing to their overall psychological resilience. This study underscores the value of incorporating structured mindfulness programs into early education to support both emotional and behavioral development.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has not been fully matched by digital literacy and the readiness of prospective teachers to integrate it into learning. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of elementary school teacher education students regarding the use of AI in learning. A descriptive quantitative method enriched with qualitative data from semi-structured interviews was employed. The research involved 85 second- and fourth-semester students selected using incidental sampling techniques. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire for quantitative data, and interviews to deepen survey findings. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, while qualitative data were processed using thematic analysis techniques. The results revealed that most students had positive perceptions of AI, particularly in improving learning efficiency, facilitating access to information, and supporting content understanding. However, students also identified risks that need attention, such as the potential for plagiarism, excessive dependency, and a decline in critical thinking and social interaction skills. The study concludes that comprehensive AI literacy is essential for prospective teachers to optimize and responsibly utilize technology. The study recommends integrating AI literacy programs into teacher education curricula and conducting further research on the long-term impacts of AI implementation on learning outcomes in the digital era.

Abstract

A common problem in Indonesia, especially in history learning, is the one-way (teacher-centered) lecture method, which results in non-interactive classes, lack of student independence, and limited improvement in student skills. Efforts to achieve learning objectives in the 21st century pose a challenge for schools and teachers to prepare effective classroom practices. The concept of using games in learning, known as Game Based Learning (GBL), is applied through the Temple Monopoly (TEMON) game. The goal is to stimulate students’ historical thinking skills and learning independence. The research method used was a Pre-Experiment Design with a quantitative comparative approach between an experimental class and a control class in 10th grade Senior High School (SMA). The research findings show that the average historical thinking skills and learning independence in the experimental class differed significantly from the control class. In conclusion, the T-test results indicated a value of 4.750 > 1.990, showing that TEMON has an impact on historical thinking skills, and the independent learning outcomes showed a T-test result of 1.970 > 1.664 at SMAN 4 Bekasi. Similarly, TEMON also positively impacts learning independence.

Abstract

The learning approach plays a crucial role in enhancing technical skills in tennis. However, in practice, theoretical approaches are often overlooked, as most sports activities are carried out directly on the court. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effects of various learning approaches and physical factors on tennis drive stroke skills. Specifically, the study analyzed the impact of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach, the influence of arm muscle strength and gender, as well as the interaction among these factors on the improvement of drive stroke performance. An experimental method with a 2×2 factorial design was employed, involving 64 student participants. Drive stroke performance was assessed using the Forehand Groundstroke Tennis Test Accuracy (Jennifer Love Hewitt Test). Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0, with normality and homogeneity tests set at α = 0.05. The results indicated that the TaRL learning method yielded Sig. = 0.00 < 0.05, suggesting that this method can enhance technical performance in tennis. Furthermore, arm muscle strength and gender obtained Sig. = 0.667 > 0.05, indicating that physical strength and gender do not play a critical role in drive stroke outcomes. Finally, no interaction was found among learning approach, arm muscle strength, and gender on drive stroke skills, with Sig. = 0.490 > 0.05. These findings highlight the importance of personalized learning strategies over physical attributes in developing skills for the tennis drive stroke.
