Abstract

An ability that plays an important role in learning mathematics and physics in the 21st century is mathematical literacy skills. This study aims to analyze the mathematical literacy ability of students using the PhET Simulation-assisted Discovery Learning learning model in Spring Potential Energy material. This type of research is pre-experimental using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 13 students of class XI MIA SMAK Santa Maria Monte Carmelo Maumere. Students before learning are given an initial test and at the end of learning are given a final test with the same material and form of questions. The pretest and posttest result data were then analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired t-tests, and n-gain calculations with IBM SPSS Statistics 26. This study showed a significant increase in scores after being given physics learning using the Discovery Learning learning model. The Discovery Learning learning model assisted by PhET Simulation is effective in improving students' mathematical literacy skills. This is evidenced by the significant value gains on paired t-tests and n-gain tests are 0.023 and 0.8531 respectively. With this, the Discovery Learning learning model assisted by PhET Simulation can be used as a reference or consideration for teachers to improve students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

This research is a scientific study between disciplines, especially mathematics and sports. The problem in this research is how to model the optimal time prediction for the performance of athletic athletes, especially running, based on data from national and international championship results. The aim of this research is to find a prediction model for optimal performance times for running athletes based on national and international time record data. The solving method in this research uses mathematical methods, namely the least squares method and forecasting with the help of Excel and SPSS programs. Through this research, it is hoped that it will become input for scientific information, especially for athletics (running) so that it can predict athlete performance based on optimal time prediction models so that training targets are well directed. Athletes can provide positive motivation from these predictions. Practically, for coaches, teachers and sports coaches, athletics can be a basis for creating training programs to create better performance. The optimal time prediction model produced in this research can provide an overview of running achievements both nationally and internationally. Apart from that, it can also be used to compare national and international achievements so that it can be used as evaluation material. The optimal time prediction model for running athletes' performance for short distances of 100m and 200m was obtained with a model that was significant at the 0.05 level of significance.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKS) through the application of the Project-Based Learning model of Red Stone Making. The material developed is the subject of Social Natural Sciences (IPAS) with the material Force and Motion. This research occurred on grade IV students of SD Negeri Wailiti Maumere which amounted to 25 people. The results showed that the development of LKS with a Project-Based Learning approach to making red bricks of force and motion materials in grade IV SD Negeri Wailiti has been successfully developed through research procedures based on the R&D development model, and refers to several stages of 4D development, namely define, design, develop and disseminate, which is carried out only to the third stage. LKS validation is carried out by means of validation tests of media experts and material experts, and product trials. The effectiveness of LKS is shown at the field implementation test stage by filling out a questionnaire by sisswa. LKS with this Project-Based Learning approach received student assessments and responses that were included in the "Very Good" category with a score of 99.5. Based on the results of the data above, LKS with a Project-Based Learning approach is "Very Feasible" to be used as one of the learning resources for students in schools, especially in science subjects style and motion material for grade IV students of SD Negeri Wailiti.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the way in which Google Translate is used in practice by university students in the Information and Technology (IT) context. The research method used in this study is a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. 24 first-year students of non-English department taking English for IT Professional class are involved in this study. The tools used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that students found Google Translate useful to support their academic studies, especially in doing writing assignments. However, they always needed to refine the grammar and logical structure of the translation. They sometimes also encounter difficulties in translating technical terms of the IT context. Google Translate has several roles in supporting students' writing skills with several positive and negative effects that affect their writing activities. In conclusion, the findings suggest that students use the technology of Google Translate in strategic ways to enhance their abilities in the English language.

Abstract

Abstract. This article aims to reveal, describe, and analyze the development of Setabik dance in Sekayu Musi Banyuasin district. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The object of this research is the Setabik dance in Sekayu district of Musi Banyuasin. The research instrument is the researcher himself as the primary instrument, assisted by other instruments such as observation and interview guidance sheets and visual audio media. Data collection techniques are done by means of library studies, observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out in the following stages: (1) data collection; (2) data reduction; (3) data presentation; (4) data verification and conclusion of data analysis results. The results of the research showed that there were some advances in Setabik dance from the original version, namely the addition of the number of dancers, the variety of dance movements and accessories to the clothes. The Setabik dance, originally called the Tabik Tuan dance, was drawn from the Dutch colonial period in order to welcome the honourable guests and leaders of the Netherlands who came to Musi Banyuasin. Nowadays the dance has been taught to elementary school students up to high school. Besides, the general public who wants to learn Setabik dance lately has no limits. Unlike the conditions of the ancient days, the Setabik dance could only be attracted by the nobility, who initially used to perform only for the reception of guests, but in the development of the dance, the setabik has been presented as a entertainment performance. Thus, in order to preserve the Setabik dance so that it continues, the setabik dancing is a cultural art learning material in the Sekayu district of Musi Banyuasin. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis tentang Perkembangan tari Setabik di Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Objek penelitian ini adalah tari Setabik di Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama, dibantu dengan instrumen lain yaitu lembar pedoman observasi dan wawancara serta media audio visual. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara studi kepustakaan, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut; (1) koleksi data; (2) reduksi data; (3) penyajian data; (4) verifikasi data dan menyimpulkan hasil analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa perkembangan tari Setabik dari versi awalnya, yaitu penambahan jumlah penari, ragam gerak tari dan aksesoris pada pakaian. Tari Setabik yang pada awalnya bernama tari Tabik Tuan sudah ada dari masa kolonial Belanda yang ditarikan dalam rangka menyambut tamu-tamu kehormatan dan pemimpin Belanda yang datang ke Musi Banyuasin. Pada masa sekarang tari tersebut telah diajarkan pada siswa Sekolah Dasar sampai Sekolah Menengah Atas. Selain itu masyarakat umum yang ingin mempelajari tari Setabik akhir-akhir ini memang tidak ada batasannya. Berbeda dengan kondisi pada zaman dahulu tari Setabik hanya boleh ditarikan oleh kaum bangsawan saja, yang pada awalnya tari Setabik hanya difungsikan untuk penyambutan tamu, tetapi dalam perkembangannya tari Setabik sudah ditampilkan sebagai pertunjukan hiburan. Dengan demikian, guna melestarikan tari Setabik agar terus berkesinambungan, maka tari Setabik menjadi materi pembelajaran seni budaya di Sekayu Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin. Abstract

In this research, the researchers will conduct an analysis of “Earth’s Answer” by William Blake. The purpose of this research is to explore the sense of oppression in the content of the poem. The method utilized for this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The main focus of the research is the indications of oppression found in the poem, through symbols used by Blake, which examined stanza by stanza. Researchers found that the signs of oppression from the poem are taken from the words such as “prisoned,” “chained,” “darkness,” “dread,” and “drear.” By analyzing the background of the author, major theme, poetic devices, literary devices, and also examined each stanza of the poetry, it can be concluded that this poetry involves the subject of oppression. The results underscore the absence of hope, injustice, and incarceration, due to one of the impacts of the Industrial Revolution, as well as other oppressive elements found in the poem. The idea of oppression can be found in each stanza either explicitly or implicitly.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the factors that cause stunting in the Muara Enim Regency Home Growth Community Health Center, with a focus on Sukarami Village, Muara Enim District, South Sumatra Province. A qualitative approach was used involving Community Health Center officers, parents of stunted children, and community members around the Community Health Center as research informants. Sampling was carried out through purposive sampling to ensure the existence of relevant information. The research results show that factors such as low levels of maternal education, family economic conditions, limited access to health services, and unhealthy eating habits are the main contributors to the high prevalence of stunting. It was also found that efforts to overcome stunting require a holistic and integrated approach from the government, community and family. This research also highlights the need to increase the accessibility of health services, improve the socio-economic conditions of families, and implement sustainable education and counseling programs. As a result, a comprehensive intervention strategy was proposed to overcome stunting in the region. These findings can make a significant contribution to increasing public understanding about stunting and supporting government policies in achieving public health rights in accordance with the mandate of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.

Abstract

Bullying, as a deliberate and repetitive form of aggression, can result in detrimental psychological, physical, and social impacts, occurring across various educational levels. This article aims to assist individuals affected by bullying trauma in their recovery, fostering self-confidence, and mitigating feelings of social inadequacy. The study emphasizes intervention employing a Biopsychosocial technique within the Psychodynamic method, utilizing the Operant Conditioning Theory (Skinner's Experiment). Through a planned and implemented ten-day intervention, behavioral modifications successfully attained the intended objectives. The client has been able to engage socially at least once a day for two weeks, with a duration of six hours per day, signifying success in addressing the repercussions of bullying and reintegration into their social milieu.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) studies the influence of implementing the Probing Promting learning paradigm on fourth-grade students' knowledge of science topics, particularly in the context of the growth and development of living things. The study employs a cyclic approach led by the Kemmis and Taggart model, encompassing planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data gathering includes test scores, teacher and student observation percentages, and evaluations of teacher and student activities. The results reveal a substantial positive link between the Probing Promting learning approach and increased academic achievement. Test results, starting at an average of 54.48 in the pre-cycle, rapidly improved to 83.70 in Cycle II. The use of the methodology also positively increased instructor and student observation percentages, reaching 96.43% and 92.85%, respectively, in Cycle II. Observations of instructor and student actions, undertaken by two observers, demonstrated constant progress across cycles. The Probing Promting model's repeated application led to enhanced teaching tactics and increased student involvement. The research suggests that the Probing Promting learning paradigm is effective in boosting science instruction for fourth-grade kids, giving a helpful tool for instructors. The excellent outcomes underline the necessity of selecting proper teaching approaches to establish a friendly and effective learning environment. Further research in varied educational settings may give more insights, adding to the continuing improvement of scientific teaching approaches.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan bangsa yang majemuk yang memiliki perbedaan dan keberagaman, contonya perihal agama, kebudayaan, kesenian, tradisi. Konflik agama di Indonesia menjadi isu yang penting, agama dipandang sebagai hal yang suci, namun juga bisa dipakai alat untuk perang suci. Agama mempunyai dua kekuatan, di sisi pertama sebagai kekuatan daya penyatu (sentripetal), dalam sisi lain bisa menjadi kekuatan untuk memecah belah (sentrifugal), sehingga dapat meruntuhkan keharmonisan kehidupan manusia. Orang Kristen juga dilihat sebagai agama yang agresif dalam menyebarkan Injil di daerah tertentu, untuk menyebarkan pesan Yesus. Pemahaman yang keliru dalam menafsirkan Alkitab dan pendidik agama Kristen yang mengajar tidak sesuai dengan Firman Tuhan hanya untuk kepentingan tertentu saja. Kehidupan bermasyarakat perlu ada toleransi sikap saling menghormati dan menghargai sebagai ciptaan Tuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka, menganalisis sejumlah data dan menggali berbagai informasi tentang moderasi agama, pendidikan kristen, melalui berbagai referensi seperti artikel jurnal, konferensi, buku, dan melakukan pengamatan langsung untuk mendukung analisis penulisan tersebut. Artikel tersebut menjelaskan bahwa moderasi beragama dapat memperkuat ideologi Pancasila sebagai perekat kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Pendidikan Kristiani sebagai alat penting untuk merawat kesatuan dan keutuhan NKRI. Alkitab sumber utama bagi pendidikan kristiani yang memberikan pengertian tentang kasih, toleransi, dan kedamaian dalam mewujudkan moderasi beragama, sehingga pendidikan Kristiani mendukung program pemerintah dalam moderasi beragama, pada akhirnya Pendidikan Kristiani perlu diajarkan secara moderat dalam mengasihi Tuhan dan sesama, maka diperlukan figur pendidik-pendidik yang memiliki pemahaman benar tentang nilai-nilai Kristiani yang bijaksana, yang memiliki etika, sopan santun, toleransi sehingga ada jalinan persahabatan yang dipupuk dengan cinta kasih kepada sesama makluk hidup untuk mengatualisasikan ajarannya (Alkitab), sehingga wawasan sebuah moderasi beragama dapat tersampai kepada umat atau peserta didik untuk menjadi makluk hidup yang mendamaikan dalam lingkungannya maupun di luar sehingga terjadi harmonisasi kehidupan.
