Jurnal ini diberi nama LITERASI, nama tersebut dipilih sebagai upaya untuk tetap menjadikan keterampilan berbahasa sebagai landasan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Seperti sebuah pernyataan “bahasa sebagai penghela ilmu pengetahuan”. Jurnal LITERASI diterbitkan oleh Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra Indonesia dan Daerah dua kali dalam setahun. Terbitan pertama pada tahun berjalan adalah bulan Januari dan terbitan kedua adalah bulan Juli. Setiap kali terbit, jurnal ini memuat delapan artikel yang mengkaji dan membahasa masalah pendidikan bahasa dan sastra Indonesia. Jurnal ini memuat artikel hasil penelitian, gagasan konseptual, baik yang ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia maupun bahasa asing. Selain secara online jurnal ini juga terbit secara cetak (ISSN 2086-4795). Diharapkan Jurnal ini mampu menjadi media informasi yang kredibel dan berdayaguna.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kategorisasi dan makna makanan tradisional dalam bahasa Batak Toba. Data yang digunakan adalah data lisan dan data tulis. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode simak dan metode cakap. Data dikumpulkan berdasarkan beberapa kategori yaitu bahan, bentuk, ukuran, penampilan dan tujuan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode agih untuk mengidentifikasi butir leksikal yang tergolong makanan tradisional untuk menetapkan kategorisasinya. Selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan teori metabahasa semantik alami. Teori MSA digunakan untuk menganalisis komponen makna secara rinci melalui teknik parafrase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makanan tradisional Batak Toba dikategorikan atas: (1) makanan tradisional pada peristiwa khusus / upacara-upacara (dekke arsik, saksang, lapet, dekke antinombur, itak gurgur, dekke naniura, manuk napinadar, itak hinopingan) dan (2) makanan tradisional untuk konsumsi sehari-hari (mi gomak, sasagun). Makna makanan tradisional Batak Toba dibentuk oleh elemen-elemen asali, yaitu SESUATU, ADA, KARENA SESEORANG, INGIN dengan komponen makna “Makanan [M] ini ada karena seseorang membuatnya”.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the semiotic meaning of traditional devices in the ‘marpege-pege’ tradition in the Padangsidimpuan Batak Angkola. The method used in this research is the ethnographic method as determined by Spradley. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with elements of society and “suhut” the elements or parties holding the event. The data analysis method used is de Sausure analysis (1859) by interpreting two dichotomies: signifier and signified. The results of his research show that there are 6 traditional devices that support the traditional “marpege-pege” procession. The semiotic meanings contained in the 6 traditional devices are “amak lappisan” which means a special seat, namely an entity that has a high position, “pinggan godang” and “haronduk” which means a respect, “Sipulut” (sticky rice) and “inti” (coconut mixed with brown sugar) which means to tighten. The relationship between the entities in the “marpege-pege” tradition, “Burangir” (betel), “soda”, “pining” (betel nuts) and “gambir” means a form of gratitude, “timbako” (tobacco) or (cigarette) has the meaning as a form of appreciation for community leaders who have present at traditional processions and “Abit” (cloth) has a simple meaning.

Abstract

Language is a cultural creation that can be reflected in the variety of verbal expressions or lexicon spoken by a group of people, as is the case with the people of Indramayu district, especially paddy farmers. This research aims to describe the agricultural lexicon category and describe the meaning of the paddy farming lexicon in Indramayu district West Java. The data in this study is the Indramayu dialect of Javanese language lexicon used by farmers in activities in the field of paddy farming. The theory used in this research is Ethnolinguistics. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study found that the lexicon in paddy farming in Indramayu district is divided into three categories: nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Meanwhile, in terms of lexical meaning, there are five general classifications were found, the process of planting paddy, planting period of paddy, tools used in paddy farming activities, condition of paddy seeds, and parts of paddy fields.

Abstract

Slang is one of the variations of social language that grows among people. Using slang in informal situations for adolescents serves as self-familiarity with other individuals. This research investigates the patterns, meaning, and functions of Sundanese slang in Bandung City/Regency. This research method uses a mix methods of qualitative and quantitative. The researcher collected the data through questionnaires via Google Forms with specific participant criterias to gain appropriate results. Twenty participants were selected based on age, birth, domicile in Bandung City/Regency, and Sundanese as their native language. In analysing the data, the researcher used O'Grady's (1996) theory regarding the word formation process. The results of this study indicate that the word formation processes of Sundanese slang is formed through the types of onomatopoeia (2.81%), derivation (4.22%), multiple processes, (7%) clipping, (8,45%), coinage (22.5%), acronym (24.6%), and blending (30.3%). In addition, slang functions were found into seven types, for humor, mockery, praise, brevity and concreteness, confidentiality, intimacy, and as an identity and group differentiator.

Abstract

Research that addresses religiosity in Indonesia amounts to tens of thousands of research titles. This shows that the theme is very interesting and has been studied from various scientific backgrounds. From the results of research using a Systematic Literature Review, it was found that there are many differences in using the concept of religiosity and they are still partial. For this reason, this Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study was carried out to obtain and reconstruct an understanding of religiosity in Indonesia from various research conducted to be more comprehensive and not partial. This SLR uses a database obtained from the search engine Harzing.com. The data obtained was then reduced using the SLR protocol until the amount was sufficient for analysis. As a result, the concept of religiosity in Indonesia does not have much debate, both in terms of terminology and definition. In contrast to abroad, which is actually secular, the debate has been long and there has been no agreement. Keywords: Studies, Systematic Literature Review, Religiosity, Diversity

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between smartphone use and speech delay in children. Over the past decade, the penetration of smartphones has increased significantly, resulting in early and intensive screen exposure among children. This study employs a quantitative method with structured surveys and direct observation of 10 children aged 4-5 years from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Data was collected regarding the daily duration of smartphone use, the type of content accessed, and parent-child interactions while using the device. Preliminary results indicate a significant negative correlation between the duration of smartphone use and the development of speech abilities. Children who spend more time with smartphones tend to show delays in reaching language development milestones compared to those with less exposure. Furthermore, this study identifies that the quality of parent-child interaction during smartphone use, such as joint discussions and verbal interactions, can mitigate and minimize the negative impact of smartphone usage. This research provides vital insights into the impact of digital technology on child development and offers recommendations for parents and early childhood education practitioners. Abstract

This study aims at describing single transformation of sentences pattern in the Indonesian language writing of Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIP A) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) students. The data of this research are in the form of sentences of BIPA UMM students. The results show, single transformation of sentences pattern in the Indonesian language writing of BIPA UMM students divided to addition and subtraction pattern. In the addition pattern, there are four patterns listed: negation word, aspect word, continuation word, and hope word. In the subtraction pattern, there is one pattern which is marked by a dissipation. Keywords: transformation of sentences; sentence pattern; Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low ability of students in writing arguments. Therefore, efforts are needed to resolve this problem. This research aims to determine the improvement in students' argumentative writing skills using the Problem Based Learning model. The research method uses Classroom Action Research in the form of qualitative descriptive with the data obtained in the form of test and non-test results in the form of observations and interviews. The subjects of this research were 29 students of the Primary School Teacher Education Study Program, semester 1 of the 2023/2024 academic year. Based on research data, it was found that there was an increase in the assessment of learning implementation and an increase in students' ability to write arguments in each cycle using the Problem Based Learning learning model.

Abstract

Literature learning is less interested by elementary school students. One of the reasons is that teaching materials are less attractive to students because they only used textbooks provided by the government. This research aims to describe the children’s story “Kitty dan Kompetisi Lampion” as an alternative literature reading teaching material in elementary school. This research used a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. Data comes from the children’s story book “Kitty dan Kompetisi Lampion” by Paula Harisson. Data was collected through documentation studies. Researchers as a human instrument. The data analysis technique uses data collection, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research foound that the children’s story “Kitty dan Kompetisi Lampion” by Paula Harisson has both intrinsic such as theme, storyline, background or setting, characterization, messages, point of view, conflict; and extrinsic story elements consisting of the values of the story and the author’s background. Kitty’s personality structure consists of the id which is realized through the process of imagining and shown through feelings; the ego which is shown in reasoning; and the superego through action, words and advice which reflects society’s moral values. The story “Kitty dan Kompetisi Lampion” is eligibility criteria for teaching materials in terms of language, psychology, and cultural background. The linguistic dimension shows that this book is suitable for high class students. From a psychological dimension, this story book develops character values for its readers which are present in an interesting way. From the cultural background dimension, the culture shown in this book is appropriate with Indonesian culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik pada materi pengumpulan dan penyajian data. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis belum tercapai sesuai dengan harapan, peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian model Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan dan perbedaan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas yang diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan kelas yang menggunakan model konvensional dan memiliki efek yang besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Hal tersebut dibuktikan oleh uji-t pada nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,003 < 0,05, sehingga dikatakan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dan memiliki efek yang besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik yang dibuktikan oleh uji effect size sebesar 0,915 dengan interpretasi dalam kategori besar.
