Abstract

In learning, educators play a very important role in helping students solve problems, therefore teachers must encourage students to actively participate in learning by using the Ptoblem Based Learning learning model. This study aims to answer the hypothesis of a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills by using learning models other than lecture methods, such as the problem based learning (PBL) learning model in grade V of the Social Sciences subject and the material 'Technology in Life' SDN 190 Pekanbaru. This study applies a quantitative model with a research design used is one group only pretest-posttest. In this study, the population was all grade V at SDN 190 Pekanbaru in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample selection used total sampling by collecting a sample of 50 students from grade V. The method used in this study is the data collection method, with the action test and documentation method. The data analysis technique in this study used a hypothesis test with the Independent Sample T-test. Based on the findings, the Sig. value was obtained. (2-tailed) of <0.001 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the problem based learning model on critical thinking skills in technology material in class V life. It can also be seen that there is an average or mean value in the control class posttest of 66.23 and in the experimental class of 86.21.

Abstract

Implementation of teaching materials based on Riau Malay culture is used to determine the effect on students' creative reading skills. The importance of teaching materials for lecturers to facilitate the delivery of material in lectures. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 40 PGSD students. The results of the study to measure the effect must follow several stages, namely the normality test produced that the value of 0.002 <0.05 is not normally distributed. Homogeneity test 0.371> 0.05 then the results of the hypothesis are homogeneously distributed. Because of the two tests with different results, the data is not normal and homogeneous so that parametric testing is needed to find the effect of creative reading teaching materials based on Riau Malay culture by conducting the Wilcoxon test. Then the effect test was carried out 0.011 <0.05, it was concluded that the use of creative reading teaching materials based on Riau Malay culture had an effect on students' creative reading skills.

Abstract

The reading teaching materials used by students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program at Riau Islamic University do not yet contain folklore texts. Based on field data, there are still not many reading teaching materials found in the Pekanbaru Riau area. The aim of this research is to describe the need for reading teaching materials containing Riau Malay folklore texts to improve the quality of student literacy. This research is qualitative research that uses questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. The respondents in this research were students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program at Riau Islamic University who had taken the aesthetic reading course. The results of this research are in the form of a description of the need for reading teaching materials containing Riau Malay folklore texts to improve the quality of literacy for students in accordance with the appropriateness standards for teaching materials which include (1) aspects of appropriateness of teaching materials, (2) aspects of appropriateness of content, (3) aspects presentation of teaching materials, (5) linguistic aspects supporting teaching materials for reading folklore.

Abstract

In improving the quality of education, the role of the principal is very much needed to manage facilities and infrastructure. However, in reality there are still schools whose facilities and infrastructure are inadequate. So the role of the principal is very much needed in managing facilities and infrastructure in schools. The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of the role of the principal in managing facilities and infrastructure towards the quality of education at SD Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. This study uses a qualitative research type. The subjects in this study were the principal and teachers of SD Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques and instruments used observation, interview and documentation techniques. The validity test of the data in this study used the triangulation technique of source data, techniques and time. The data analysis method used is in accordance with the theory of Miles and Huberman which has stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the principal of SD Negeri 8 Pekanbaru plays a very important role in managing facilities and infrastructure towards the quality of education. The principal at Pekanbaru 8th State Elementary School plays a role in planning the budget for procurement, construction, maintenance and repair of school facilities, distribution and making an inventory of procurement of facilities and infrastructure and providing a warehouse for storage and reporting items that are written off.

Abstract

This study examines the analysis of learning strategies and obstacles for ABK at MI Darul Ulum Wates. The purpose of this study is to identify the most effective strategies and obstacles faced in supporting development and learning. The research approach applied to the research is qualitative descriptive. Interviews, documentation studies, and observational methods are all used in the data collection process. The data reduction procedure, data presentation, and conclusion reached are among the data analysis approaches used. The results of this study show that (1) this school accepts children with special needs as long as the school can still overcome it, (2) the learning strategy applied in this school uses the lesson repetition strategy, (3) the obstacles experienced are the limited competence of teachers in educating students with special needs, experience delays in receiving learning materials taught by teachers, the absence of special facilities and infrastructure,  such as various learning tools or support provided by the government for services for students with special needs. The implications of this study are ramifications include the necessity of enhancing teacher proficiency in instructing children with special needs (ABK) and the requirement for specialized infrastructure and resources to assist the learning process.

Abstract

Teachers' understanding of sex education and its implementation in learning is very important for primary school students. Teachers should know about the knowledge and attitude towards what sex education is and how it is implemented. The purpose of this study was to reveal teachers' knowledge about sex education based on Living Value Education (LVE) and implement it in learning sex education. This research method is descriptive survey type for exploratory or exploratory purposes. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire in the form of a google form. The questionnaire in this case includes teachers' understanding of LVE-based sex education in accordance with the validated grids. The population of this study included all primary school level teachers in DIY Province. The sample technique selected using Purposive sampling.  The research subjects who constituted the research sample were 248 teachers consisting of class teachers, subject teachers, and co-curricular teachers of elementary schools and madrasah ibtidaiyah from 51 schools/madrasas in 4 districts and 1 city, namely Sleman Regency, Kulon Progo Regency, Bantul Regency, Gunung Kidul Regency, and Yogyakarta City. Data analysis used descriptive statistics which were then converted into 4 categories. The results of the average number of scores (X) amounted to 130.64, which is in category B (Good). This means that the teacher's ability to understand LVE-based sex education is good and has the awareness to implement it.

Abstract

This study was conducted to explore the application of differentiation learning strategies and inclusive approaches for students with special needs in Elementary Schools. This study is motivated by the importance of creating a friendly learning environment and supporting the development of students with special needs so that they can develop according to their potential. The research method used is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach, where data was obtained through in-depth interviews with three key informants, namely educators and inclusive program managers at schools. The data collected were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of implementation of differentiation learning strategies and implementation of inclusive policies. The results of the study indicate that (1) Teachers have implemented differentiation learning strategies optimally, learning methods and materials are adjusted to the needs and competencies of students with special needs; (2) Special programs; Maintenance Class and Inclusive Learning are applied to provide additional support for students, including the use of special aids and accompanying teachers; (3) The humanist philosophy approach is also the basis for creating an inclusive learning environment, which is demonstrated through respect for individual uniqueness and student character development. Evaluation of this approach is carried out periodically to ensure its suitability to student needs. In addition, collaboration with parents and the community is considered very important in supporting the implementation of inclusive programs.

Abstract

This ethnographic study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in creative pedagogy for Teaching English to Young Learners (TEYL) at SD Tahfidz Al Basyir, Bogor. The research explores how AI tools, such as adaptive learning systems and ChatGPT, are employed alongside creative teaching methods to enhance language acquisition and foster creativity among children. Findings reveal that AI significantly contributes to personalized learning, increased student engagement, and the provision of immediate feedback, thereby improving the overall learning experience. However, the study identifies key challenges, including limited access to AI tools, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient teacher training, which hinder effective AI integration. The research underscores the pivotal role of teachers in mediating AI use and recommends targeted professional development programs to equip educators with the necessary skills. This study not only enhances understanding of AI’s role in creative language pedagogy but also offers practical strategies to optimize AI-based teaching practices, particularly in resource-constrained settings, while addressing equity and accessibility issues.

Abstract

It is known that grade 2 students have not mastered the initial writing skills, which are influenced by the lack of interest and minimal talent of students in writing. This study aims to describe the use of diaries in developing the initial writing skills of grade 2 students of SDN 007 Kampung Baru Cerenti. The research method used in this study is qualitative with a verification research type. The researcher used data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation involving subjects, namely teachers and grade 2 students of SDN 007 Kampung Baru Cerenti. The data analysis technique in this study used the Miles and Huberman model, which consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of the survey show that there are three approaches used to determine the use of diaries in developing the initial writing skills of grade 2 students of SDN 007 Kampung Baru Cerenti, namely by using diaries and grouping them according to the level of student ability and by motivating students to learn to improve their writing skills. This study implies that it can help grade 2 students improve their writing skills by composing sentences with the correct writing structure.

Abstract

In the era of digitalization of learning with ICT-based learning resources, it is expected to be able to increase students' attractiveness to be more focused and happily follow the entire learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of ICT-based learning resources on student learning outcomes. This study uses an experimental research method. The research sample selected two classes, namely the experimental class which was given learning treatment with media utilizing ICT-based learning resources and the control class without being given treatment utilizing ICT-based learning resources. Data collection was carried out using an instrument in the form of a multiple-choice test given before learning/pretest and after learning/posttest. The data collection technique used a Questionnaire. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of ICT-based learning resources has an effect on student learning outcomes.
