Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of first-grade students in mathematics, particularly in solving addition word problems, through the implementation of the role-playing method at UPTD SDN 191 Barru. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted over three cycles, each comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The findings reveal that the role-playing method significantly enhanced students' understanding of addition word problems, with the percentage of students meeting the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) increasing from 60% in the pre-cycle to 96% in the third cycle. Additionally, this method boosted students’ motivation, participation, and ability to relate mathematical concepts to real-life situations. These results suggest that the role-playing method is an effective and engaging strategy for teaching mathematics at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the history of the development of Ahmadiyah Islam in Jambi Province and the factors that influenced its spread. Ahmadiyah Islam, founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in India in the late 19th century, began to enter Indonesia in the early 20th century and spread to various countries, including Indonesia. Through a historical approach, this study explores written and oral sources to understand the process of Ahmadiyah's entry into Indonesia, the community's response to this sect, and the challenges faced by the Ahmadiyah community in the region. In this study, historical research methods were used, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and synthesis to compile a narrative of the development of Ahmadiyah in Indonesia. The results of the study show that the Ahmadiyah community in Indonesia developed through trade routes and close social relations with centers of da'wah in Indonesia, despite facing challenges from mainstream Islamic groups that reject their teachings. This study also reveals the social and political dynamics that influence the existence of Ahmadiyah in Jambi, both in the context of the internal community and local government policies related to religious freedom. This study is expected to contribute to the understanding of the diversity of sects in Islam in Indonesia

Abstract

Address terms and politeness strategies play a crucial role in communication, reflecting social relationships, cultural norms, and gender dynamics. This study investigates the use of address terms in Mambalan, a village in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, within the context of Sasaknese language, gender roles, and sociocultural influences. Address terms in Mambalan are shaped by age, class, and relational context, demonstrating an interplay between traditional values and modernization. The research draws on Brown and Levinson's politeness theory, focusing on strategies such as positive and negative politeness to explore how language maintains social "face" and harmony. The study reveals how gender influences conversational patterns, with men predominantly using apologies and expressions of obedience, while women frequently use questions to sustain interaction. These gendered language choices reflect societal expectations and power dynamics, underscoring the role of politeness in reinforcing social cohesion. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of language use in multilingual, stratified societies and offers insights into how address terms can illuminate gendered communication patterns, identity, and cultural change.
