Abstract

This research explores the local wisdom values embedded in the marriage customs of the Lawelu village community through a sociolinguistic perspective. Marriage customs in Lawelu village, characterized by traditional ceremonies such as famaigi niha, fame’e laeduru, fanunu manu, femanga bawi nisila hulu, mangötö wongi, famözi aramba, folau bawi, falöwa, mame’e gö/famasao, dan mamuli nukha/manga gahe, are rich in symbolic language and cultural expressions that reflect community values and social norms. Using qualitative methods, including interviews and participant observations, the study examines how these customs communicate respect, solidarity, and familial bonds, reinforcing community identity and cultural continuity. The findings reveal that the linguistic elements used during marriage rituals serve not only as a means of communication but also as a vehicle for transmitting moral values and maintaining social cohesion. This research contributes to understanding how socioliunguistic practices in traditional ceremonies preserve local wisdom and promote cultual sustainability in rural communities, especially in Lawelu village, ulu moro’ö.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize processing and packaging technologies to improve the quality of fish products caught by local fishermen in Bima Bay. The methods included a survey of 50 fishermen, processing experiments (blanching, quick freezing, vacuum packaging), and microbiological, sensory, and community acceptance tests. The results showed that the dominant fish species were skipjack (35%), tuna (30%), and scad (20%). Processing with blanching and quick freezing reduced microbial growth by up to 90% compared to untreated samples. Sensory evaluation indicated an 85% acceptance rate for vacuum-packed frozen fish. Community surveys revealed that 80% of fishermen were willing to adopt this technology. These findings demonstrate that appropriate technology based on quick freezing and vacuum packaging can improve fish quality, reduce post-harvest losses, and contribute to fishermen’s welfare.

Abstract

Framing Theory is an important approach in communication studies that explains how media construct reality by selecting, highlighting, and presenting certain aspects of an issue. The concept was first introduced by Erving Goffman (1974) in his work Frame Analysis, and was later refined by Robert Entman and other scholars within the context of mass media. Its relevance has grown in the digital media era, where the construction of reality plays a major role in shaping public perception. Numerous studies have applied the framing framework across various issues, including politics, public policy, and international conflicts. This study aims to explore the global development of research on Framing Theory through a bibliometric approach using the Scopus database. The analysis covers publication trends from 2015 to 2024, the most productive authors and countries, institutional affiliations, dominant keywords, and frequently studied themes. The findings reveal that the overall trend of publications on Framing Theory and mass media has increased, despite fluctuations over the years. A significant rise occurred in 2024. Furthermore, the most cited article was on Press Relationship, which received 10 global citations and ranked first. Citation analysis also indicates that no single researcher is entirely dominant, as most authors contributed with a relatively balanced number of publications. Nevertheless, certain scholars, such as Brian J. Bowe, stand out with high citation counts in framing studies. From an institutional perspective, Technische Universität Ilmenau emerged as the most consistent contributor to research on Framing Theory. In addition, keyword analysis (wordclouds) highlights that mass media remains the central theme in studies using the framing framework, alongside other topics related to communication, politics, health, sports, and social issues.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations at MTSS Nurul Ulum, Malang Regency, researchers still found several students who did not understand the skills of several passing techniques in soccer games, especially in passing techniques using the inside of the foot, so that the game seemed haphazard. This was possibly caused by the students' inability to master passing using the inside of the foot. This study used the classroom action research (CAR) method. Generally speaking, in classroom action research, there are four stages that are commonly passed, namely, (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, (4) reflection. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an increase in passing skills using the inside of the foot in students at MTSS Nurul Ulum, Malang Regency.

Abstract

The Sasak people of Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, are rich in oral traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. One of these traditions is Lelakaq, a form of traditional poetry that embodies cultural values, history, and local wisdom. The aim of this study is to conduct a semiotic analysis of Lelakaq as an ethnolinguistic inquiry and to explore its implementation in learning practices. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants included cultural leaders, community members, teachers, and students. Data collection instruments consisted of checklists, observation sheets, interview guidelines, and tests. Data were gathered by compiling Lelakaq poems from various sources, distributing response questionnaires, and conducting in-depth interviews to confirm and strengthen findings. In addition, tests were administered to evaluate students’ conceptual understanding and cultural literacy. Data analysis applied Barthes’ semiotic approach to the poems, narrative descriptive analysis for interviews and student responses, and simple statistical analysis for test results. The findings reveal that Lelakaq poetry of the Sasak community serves multiple functions: aesthetic, social, cultural, and educational. Semiotic analysis indicates that students found it easier to grasp denotative meanings compared to connotative ones, with an average score of 74.88 (Good category). Specifically, 32% of students achieved Excellent, 24% Good, 32% Fair, and 12% Poor. Triangulation of data highlights a generational gap in understanding cultural symbols, underscoring the need for creative strategies and integration of Lelakaq into learning processes to foster cultural literacy, strengthen local identity, and enhance conceptual comprehension

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation level of the Teaching Factory (Tefa), identify major challenges, and recommend strategies for its development in vocational high schools in West Java, Indonesia. Teaching Factory is an innovation in vocational education that integrates learning with real production practices based on industry standards. Using a descriptive survey with a mixed-methods approach, this research involved 50 selected SMKs and 200 respondents, including principals, teachers, and students. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The results show that 20% of schools have fully implemented Tefa, 50% are in partial implementation, 20% are in the early stages, and 10% have not implemented it at all. Key challenges include limited facilities (80%), insufficient operational funding (70%), weak industry partnerships (65%), and low teacher competence in managing production-based learning (50%). Some schools also reported difficulties integrating Tefa into the curriculum due to administrative constraints. Despite these challenges, several success factors were identified: strong school leadership, BLUD status for financial flexibility, collaboration with industry partners, teacher innovation, and use of digital tools. Best practices include structured Tefa management, real project integration into learning, and online product marketing. In conclusion, Teaching Factory has strong potential to improve vocational education quality and relevance. Strategic support is needed to scale successful models, improve infrastructure, train teachers, and strengthen industry-school partnerships. The findings serve as a useful reference for policymakers and vocational education stakeholders.
