Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of international trade and industrial competition on the wage gap between skilled and unskilled workers in Indonesia's manufacturing industry. The study uses firm-level panel data, specifically the Large and Medium Industry Statistics (IBS) from BPS and provincial minimum wage data from the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration. Model modifications are made for different industrial groupings, namely general manufacturing, labor-intensive manufacturing, and capital-intensive manufacturing. The empirical analysis presented in this research shows that an increase in international trade contributes to a reduction in the wage gap between skilled and unskilled workers in Indonesia's manufacturing industry. However, increased industrial competition has the opposite effect. Additionally, this research conducts a comparative analysis of the impact of international trade and industrial competition on labor-intensive and capital-intensive industries.

Abstract

Education during Jokowi's administration was rarely a topic of discussion. In the 2-year document Jokowi-JK Real Work shows that education is less of a major concern in the Jokowi administration's policy agenda. The three main focuses of the government's policy agenda emphasize infrastructure, human development, and economic deregulation policies. Education is only limited to the mention of increased access and infrastructure of education, and the education index which increased (0.82) from 2014 to 2015. A number of education policy products such as the smart Indonesia card, KIP Kuliah have become a legacy in the Jokowi administration from 2014 to 2024. However, a number of educational problems and challenges have not been fully answered during Jokowi's leadership. This happens because there is no adequate design thinking in overcoming education problems in Indonesia. The purpose of the research is to uncover and analyze the fundamental problems of education and propose the formulation of design thinking of Indonesian education policy after Jokowi. The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach. Data is obtained through literature studies of government policy documents in the field of education, books, scientific journal articles. Data analysis uses interpretive approaches, semiotics, critical discourse analysis, and design thinking. The results of this study show that if we look at post-reform education policy, design thinking education policy has not touched on the fundamental education system, the substance of education, and the culture and ecosystem of education. Therefore, the design thinking proposed after the Jokowi administration is directed to build and strengthen three aspects, namely regulation, governance, and education human resources.

Abstract

Religion and sociology are two fields that are inherently linked to human social life. Religion is an integral part of the lives of many individuals and societies around the world, influencing actions, values, norms and social structures. On the other hand, sociology is the study of social interaction, social institutions and social change in society. Both influence each other and form complex social dynamics. The purpose of this study is to investigate the interaction between religion and sociology, with a focus on conflict and social change, and how hadith views these matters. The research aims to provide deeper insights into how religion influences the social structure, norms and values of society and how sociology can be used as an approach to understanding religion as a social phenomenon. In addition, the research will also explore the impact of religious conflict in society and the role of religion in the social changes that take place. What is important from the findings of this research is that the sociology of religion will provide knowledge about the patterns of religious social interaction in society and how they build structures and infrastructure in religion. With the sociology of religion, one will find a scientifically standardized pattern or concept of how religious people build a social system that respects each other and upholds tolerance. As a result, by studying the sociology of religion one will be able to personally control social actions in religion as well as control oneself. It is also confirmed by the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad Saw that religious life, especially a Muslim, must uphold science, tolerance, and patterns of social life must rely on religion, especially in Islam everything has been regulated and can be implemented.

This research applies a quantitative descriptive approach, collecting data through surveys and direct dialogue. The sample was selected purposively, involving 73 MSME actors in the Kampung Sawah area, North Jakarta. Data analysis uses a simple linear regression model. Research findings indicate that there is an influence of the income of MSME actors on improving the welfare of their families in the Kampung Sawah area, North Jakarta. It is hoped that this research can become a valuable reference for subsequent studies.

Abstract

The mental health of school children is gaining increasing attention, particularly concerning the social environment at school. This social environment encompasses various aspects such as peer interactions, relationships with teachers, and the overall school climate. These factors have a significant impact on children's mental health, including their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Peer interaction is a key component of the school’s social environment. Positive relationships with peers can provide emotional support, boost self-confidence, and help children develop important social skills. Conversely, negative experiences such as bullying or social isolation can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the school social environment and the mental health of adolescents. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a cross-sectional design. The respondents of this study were 33 samples. The results of the statistical test showed that there is a significant relationship between the school social environment and students' mental health, with a p-value of 0.01, which is less than the significance threshold of 0.05. It can be concluded that the school social environment has a significant impact on students' mental health.
