Abstract

High administrative burdens, such as preparing learning materials, managing student documents, and reporting learning, have the potential to cause prolonged work stress and impact teachers' psychological well-being. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The subjects were all 30 early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in Karang Tengah District, Tangerang City, selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires to measure the level of administrative burden and teacher burnout tendencies. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and correlationally. The results showed that teachers' administrative burden was in the moderately high category and had a positive relationship with burnout tendencies in early childhood teachers. The higher the perceived administrative burden, the higher the tendency for burnout, which is characterized by emotional exhaustion, decreased work motivation, and reduced energy in carrying out learning tasks. Thus, it can be concluded that this study confirms that administrative burden is a significant factor contributing to burnout in early childhood teachers. Therefore, efforts are needed from schools and education policymakers to manage and simplify teachers' administrative burdens to maintain teacher mental well-being and improve the quality of early childhood learning.

Abstract

In the dynamic era of modern education, the educational philosophy of behaviorism and progressivism offers a different approach that remains relevant in the modern education system (Khosiah et al., 2024). Behaviorism, pioneered by John Watson and B.F. Skinner, considers learning as a change in behavior due to stimulus and response. In practice, students are trained through repeated practice, rewards for positive actions, and definite assessment of results. This research is used to learn more about standardized tests, digital learning platforms and competency-based curricula to develop students' basic skills such as reading, writing and arithmetic. On the other hand, progressivism pioneered by John Dewey emphasized learning through direct experience and children's interests. Children learn by doing projects, having group discussions, and solving everyday problems. The teacher's role is more as a guide, not just delivering material, so that students can grow creative, independent, and able to work together in a democratic environment. Thus, in the current Indonesian educational context, for example in the Independent Curriculum, it can be seen that these two streams complement each other (Parwati, 2023). Therefore, behaviorism can help education achieve learning outcomes through technology, while progressivism encourages learning based on local culture, group work and character development. This combination prepares students to face the digital world, work challenges, and a harmonious and inclusive society.

Abstract

This research aims to formulate a philosophical synthesis between Essentialism and Reconstructionism and its relevance to the transformation of General Education and Christian Religious Education (CRE). On one hand, Essentialism emphasizes the preservation of core values and established cultural heritage. On the other hand, Reconstructionism encourages education as an instrument of social change towards a more just world order. Using a qualitative research method with a literature study approach, the results indicate that the synthesis of these two schools of thought creates an educational model that is "rooted yet impactful." In the context of CRE, this synthesis allows churches and Christian schools to remain steadfast in Biblical authority (essential aspect) while actively engaging in social-societal transformation (reconstruction aspect). This integration serves as a solution to the dichotomy between dogmatic teaching and the demand for social relevance in the contemporary era.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to integrate Paulo Freire’s ideas and Pancasila into the learning process of digital storytelling, which is rooted in cultural traditions and enhanced by artificial intelligence. It is expected that by combining Freire’s thought with the values embedded in the Pancasila Student Profile, education can serve as a tool to empower future generations, not only to develop intelligence but also to cultivate the courage to defend social justice and diversity. To obtain theoretical data, this research employs a qualitative approach and uses literature review techniques to examine and compare various sources. Data were collected from articles and scholarly journals relevant to the research objectives. The findings indicate that Paulo Freire’s ideas and Pancasila continue to hold significant value and can be applied in modern education, which emphasizes both technology and humanity. Freire’s and Pancasila’s principles of “Education for Liberation” can be sustained within Indonesia’s educational system through the use of technology that supports educational principles, such as individualized learning and collaborative learning. For the advancement of contemporary education, the principles of freedom, responsibility, and collaboration upheld by Paulo Freire and Pancasila provide a valuable foundation.

Abstract

Existentialism is a philosophical movement that emphasizes human freedom, choice, and responsibility for one’s existence. In the context of modern education, particularly Christian Religious Education (CRE), an existentialist approach is relevant for shaping students as conscious, reflective, and morally responsible individuals in faith. This article aims to analyze the basic concepts of existentialism, the thoughts of its major figures, and their implications for general education and Christian Religious Education. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method through library research. The findings indicate that existentialism contributes positively to the development of authentic faith and personal responsibility among students; however, its application must be critically filtered to remain consistent with Christian theology and biblical values.

Abstract

This study aims to critically analyze the patterns of educative interaction between lecturers and students in higher education learning processes, the factors influencing the effectiveness of such interactions, and their impact on student engagement and academic learning outcomes. The research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive-analytical method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using thematic analysis supported by source and method triangulation to ensure data credibility. The findings indicate that lecturer– student educative interaction patterns tend to shift toward two-way interaction, although they are not yet fully consistent and remain largely lecturer-centered, particularly during content delivery. The effectiveness of educative interaction is influenced by lecturers’ pedagogical competence and communication skills, the use of instructional methods and media, and technological support, especially in online and blended learning contexts. Dialogic and responsive interaction patterns were found to have a positive impact on student engagement, conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and the development of critical thinking skills. This study emphasizes that the quality of educative interaction is a key factor in fostering effective, inclusive, and meaningful learning processes in contemporary higher education.

Abstract

This research is descriptive research using qualitative approaches. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe students’ ability in solving word problems on the topics of Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) and Least Common Multiple (LCM) in relation to their learning outcomes (high, medium, and low) in Class VII-B of SMP Negeri 2 Sentani in the Academic Year 2025/2026. The students’ problem-solving abilities were examined through the following stages: (1) the ability to understand and identify the information in the problem; (2) the ability to plan the solution; (3) the ability to perform calculations correctly; and (4) the ability to answer the question or write the conclusion. The subjects of this study consisted of three students representing different levels of learning achievement: high, medium, and low. The data were collected through written tests and interviews. The written test consisted of three essay questions. The results of the study revealed that: (1) students with high learning outcomes were able to solve word problems effectively at all stages, including understanding and identifying information, planning solutions, performing calculations, and drawing accurate conclusions; (2) students with medium learning outcomes were able to understand the problem and plan solutions but made mistakes in the calculation and conclusion stages due to incorrect application of the LCM concept; and (3) Students with low learning outcomes were only able to understand the information in the problem but were unable to continue to the planning, calculation, or conclusion stages correctly due to the error in choosing the correct solution strategy, which was the confusion betweenthe use of the GCD (Greatest Common Divisor) and LCM (Least Common Multiple) concepts.

Abstract

This article discusses the meaning of truth according to the school of pragmatism and its relevance in the context of Christian education. Pragmatism views truth as something that is evaluated based on its practical usefulness and its impact on real-life situations, rather than solely on theoretical conformity. In the field of education, particularly Christian education, this perspective is important because learning is not only aimed at the transfer of knowledge but also at shaping attitudes, character, and actions that reflect Christian values. This article employs a literature review approach by analyzing the thoughts of pragmatic philosophers alongside Christian theological principles. The findings indicate that although pragmatism emphasizes truth based on outcomes and benefits, Christian education must continue to place absolute truth, rooted in the Word of God, as its primary foundation. Therefore, pragmatic truth can be critically understood as a contextual tool in the learning process, as long as it remains directed toward the transformation of students’ lives in accordance with the teachings of Christ. This article is expected to contribute both theoretically and practically to the development of Christian Religious Education that is relevant, contextual, and grounded in Christian faith.
