Abstract

Science literacy is one of the basic skills to compete in an increasingly competitive life. However, Indonesian students still have a low level of science literacy. This study aims to determine the differences in science literacy and cognitive learning outcomes of students in the experimental and control classes and to determine students' responses to the ethnoscience-based PjBL model in learning. This quasi-experimental study used a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample was students of SDN Karduluk 2 Sumenep. Data collection was carried out using test and non-test methods. The instruments used were science literacy and cognitive learning outcomes tests and response questionnaires as non-test instruments. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results showed significant differences in science literacy and cognitive learning outcomes between students in the experimental and control classes. The ethnoscience-based PjBL model received an excellent response. This study concludes that the ethnoscience-based PjBL model can improve students' science literacy and cognitive learning outcomes. This study contributes to chemistry learning by improving science literacy and learning outcomes through the ethnoscience-based PjBL model.

Abstract

The story of Job in Job 2:1-10 and its relevance in facing life's trials. The aim of this research is to understand whether Job’s life experience can be a weapon for us to face life’s trials today. The research method used in this research is the theme of the story of Job in Job 2:1-10 and its relevance in facing life’s trials. Life tests are a series of challenges and trials that we face in the course of our lives, because humans are God’s most perfect creatures and are destined to face various life tests. When facing suffering or trials in Christian life today, the character of Job becomes an inspiration for those who face difficult and unexplainable situations. This suffering ultimately led to a deeper understanding of God as stated by Job himself. Despite experiencing tremendous loss, Job remained steadfast in his faith in God.  His attitude of choosing to surrender himself to God’s existence and trust in His better plans is an inspiration for believers today to remain strong in their faith when facing suffering. Suffering is not a sign that someone has been forgotten or punished by God, but is part of a test of faith that shapes character and increases spiritual maturity. The story of Job, Job 2:1-10, Reflection on life today.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the factors causing academic burnout among students of the International Islamic Education program, class of 2022, semester 5. The focus of this research is to explore students' experiences and perceptions related to the academic burnout they have encountered, as well as the strategies they use to cope with it. This study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method and thematic analysis. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires distributed digitally to students who met the criteria. The findings show that excessive workload, emotional pressure, and multitasking between studies, organizations, and work are the primary factors contributing to academic burnout. Students experience difficulty in managing time and dealing with multiple tasks with overlapping deadlines. Additionally, the anxiety about task completion and pressure from various aspects worsen the burnout condition. This study provides valuable insights into the factors contributing to academic burnout and the need for a more holistic approach in supporting students' academic and mental well-being

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on students' quality, understanding, creativity, and problem-solving skills in completing their academic assignments. The research employs a qualitative method with structured interviews involving one lecturer and two students as informants. The findings reveal that AI has the potential to enhance student's ability to formulate ideas and improve work efficiency. However, dependency on AI can hinder the development of essential skills such as critical thinking, discipline, and reading. Therefore, AI must be used wisely to support independent and active learning processes.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the PQ4R learning model using picture word cards to improve beginning reading skills. This research took place at SDN Kandang Roda, located at Nanggewer Mekar RT 001 RW 002, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency, West Java. Participants in the research were 30 students. The research method used was classroom action research (PTK) Kemmis and Mc Taggart model research design which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, action and observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques use initial reading practice tests, and non-tests in the form of observation, field notes and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative. The improvement in initial reading skills after implementing the PQ4R learning model using picture word cards can be seen from the results of the pre-cycle completion percentage, namely 34%, cycle I was 69% and cycle II was 81%. In the pre-cycle to cycle I there was an increase of 35% and in cycle I to cycle II there was an increase of 12%, thus providing action through these two cycles can improve students' initial reading ability and each indicator has been achieved. And it has been proven that the application of the PQ4R learning model using picture word cards can improve the reading skills of beginning elementary school students in phase A (first grade).

Abstract

This study analyzes religious moderation literacy in Christian Religious Education at YPPGI Sentani Junior High School. Focusing on the context of diversity in Indonesia, this study aims to evaluate students' understanding and the effectiveness of teaching methods that promote the values of tolerance, inclusivity, and moderation. With a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and analysis of curriculum documents. The results of the study show that religious moderation literacy has been applied through the teaching of peaceful values and respect for differences. However, there are challenges, including limited resources and a lack of a deep understanding of religious moderation. These findings confirm the importance of effective teaching strategies to improve students' moderate attitudes in daily life. This study makes a significant contribution to building a tolerant and harmonious generation, especially in a multicultural environment such as Papua, through strengthening the role of Christian religious education as a means of religious moderation literacy

Abstract

This study aims to address the issue of low student interest and motivation at Kallista Batam School, caused by the monotonous conventional teaching methods and limited interaction between teachers and students. The one-way teaching approach, which does not actively involve students in the learning process, leads to a lack of concentration and enthusiasm in participating in lessons. As a solution, the author developed interactive digital learning modules using PowerPoint, quizzes, and application-based learning media to enhance student engagement in the learning process. The methods used in this study are the Diffusion of Science and Technology (Iptek) and Substitution of Iptek, which aim to integrate educational technology into teaching to improve student understanding and motivation. The results show that the use of interactive digital learning media successfully created a more engaging and enjoyable learning environment, while encouraging students to actively participate in discussions and quizzes. Based on these findings, it is recommended that similar programs be implemented more widely in schools by providing teacher training in utilizing technology and introducing more interactive tools and applications for learning.

Abstract

During the learning process, obstacles often arise or appear to monitor students' self-developing numeracy skills, especially at the elementary school level. Researchers found that the level of numeracy knowledge of students at the Intan Baiduri Selayang tutoring studio, Kuala Lumpur in multiplication material was relatively low. This research aims to analyze the use of the Jarimatics method in the ability to calculate multiplication material at the Intan Baiduri Selayang tutoring studio, Kuala Lumpur. This research applies a qualitative approach. The data collection methods applied include interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research indicate that the learning process that utilizes this is proven by the low numeracy skills, the Jarimatics method is effective so that students have a significant understanding of the multiplication material. This can be seen from the attitude of students who are more active, enthusiastic and enthusiastic when participating in learning using the Jarimatika method, rather than the usual lecture or textbook method.
