Abstract

Basic literacy skills become a strong foundation for mastering knowledge in the next grade. Basic literacy skills are part of language skills learning which is the basis for improving cultural competency in reading and writing. Experiential learning is a learning method through the formation of students' experiences. The significance of basic literacy being so important has apparently not been able to provide awareness for various parties involved in the world of education to immediately rush to improve mastery of basic literacy. This encouraged researchers to look at and analyze literacy activities in the elementary school environment, using qualitative research methods such as case studies and the main focus of this research was the experiential learning-based basic literacy program carried out at Fathia Islamic Elementary School, Sukabumi City, focused on the lower classes. The data sources for this research are interviews, observation and documentation. Based on the research results, it is divided into planning consisting of adequate human resources and training, supporting facility resources, allocated funding resources. The implementation part consists of habits that prioritize a combination of general and religious learning such as 15-minute reading and murojaah. The development section for each teacher creates media, modules and teaching materials based on creativity related to literacy. The obstacle factors are that not all stakeholders are able to collaborate well in the literacy movement and funding is not yet optimal.

Abstract

AbstractEducators as one of the components of national education that have an important role in an educational institution. Seknun stated that "the educator as a teacher is someone who must be treated and imitated. Digugu means that everything that is conveyed is always believed and believed to be the truth by all his disciples. All knowledge that comes from the teacher is made as a truth that does not need to be proven or examined again. Imitated means to be a role model and role model for his students, starting from the way and way of thinking, how to speak to the way of behaving everyday. Thus, teachers have a very large role in the implementation of learning or education." (Seknun, 2012). Teachers are the figures who get along and interact with students the most compared to other personnel in the school. Teachers are tasked with planning and implementing the learning process, assessing learning outcomes, conducting guidance and training, conducting research and studies, and opening communication with the community.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of low good character among students, which has an impact on immoral actions. The purpose of this investigation is to identify the leadership style of tuan guru in shaping the character of students and to analyze the methods and approaches used by tuan guru in the character formation process. Research is important to provide new insights and solutions related to the character of students, cultural leadership, and a holistic approach. Several previous studies such as: Building Creative, Tolerant, and Responsible Student Characters. Independent Character Development Strategy for Students. The Role of Modern Islamic Boarding Schools in the Formation of Leadership Character. Contribution of Islamic Boarding School Education in Character Formation. Character Education Patterns in Islamic Boarding Schools. Shows that Islamic boarding schools have an important role in shaping the character of students through an integrated approach between academic education and moral values. With the right strategy, students can develop into creative, tolerant, responsible individuals, and have good leadership skills. Research on student character, cultural leadership, and a holistic approach has not specifically explored the integration of character development with cultural leadership and the synergy between local values and character education. This confirms the novelty of this manuscript. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a contribution of cultural leadership and a holistic approach to the character of students. The results of the study indicate that the paternalistic leadership style of Tuan Guru and exemplary behavior in daily behavior have a significant impact on the formation of students' character. In addition, learning methods that integrate local cultural values have proven effective in supporting the characterization process. The conclusion of this study confirms that cultural-based leadership in Islamic boarding schools contributes significantly to building students' character holistically.
