Abstract

Saat ini bahasa Mandarin merupakan bahasa yang penting untuk dipelajari. Selain bersifat universal, bahasa juga bersifat unik. Salah satu keunikan dalam bahasa Mandarin adalah memiliki kata bantu bilangan bahasa Mandarin yang beranekaragam. Kata bantu bilangan (量词 liàngcí) adalah kelas kata yang menunjukkan satuan hitung benda. Berbeda dengan penggunaan kata bantu bilangan bahasa Indonesia, kata bantu bilangan bahasa Mandarin wajib ada di dalam setiap pengucapannya. Selain itu, kata benda yang berbeda memiliki penyesuaian kata bantu bilangan yang berbeda, bahkan ada pula kata benda yang sama namun menggunakan kata bantu bilangan yang berbeda. Hal ini lah yang menjadi salah satu kesulitan bagi pemelajar terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Mandarin. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data yang berasal dari rubrik tambahan koran harian Nusantara edisi bulan Juni 2021 Penelitian ini menemukan 501 (lima ratus satu) data yang terbagi dalam 5 jenis kata bantu bilangan yang berbeda: kata bantu bilangan untuk ukuran(度量衡单位 dù liàng héng dān wèi, kata bantu bilangan untuk waktu (时间单位 shí jiān dān wèi, kata bantu bilangan unit kolektif (集体单位 jí tǐ dān wèi, kata bantu bilangan tidak teratur (不定量单位 bù dìng liàng dān wèi)dan kata bantu bilangan unit individu(个体单位 gè tǐ dān wèi.

Abstract

This article investigates students' perceptions and challenges of using English songs as their listening learning media. This study used a mixed method, namely the explanatory sequential mixed method, with two instruments: questionnaire and interview. The data in this study were obtained from 49 SMK Negeri 2 Batu students. This study reveals that students perceive the use of songs as media for listening learning. There are 87.8% of students use songs for listening practices, and 91.8% agree that they are more comfortable using songs to learn listening than other media. Besides, there were obstacles in the form of students' difficulties in quickly recognizing the words spoken in a song with a fast tempo. The overall findings of this study are that English songs are suitable for use as listening learning media in and outside the classroom by considering the selection of songs according to the level of English and student preferences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pergeseran terjemahan subtitle film Aftershock dari bahasa Mandarin ke bahasa Indonesia. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data berupa satuan lingual kata, frasa, klausa dalam bentuk narasi. Data dianalisis berdasarkan pergeseran terjemahan menurut Catford yakni category shift. Dari 40 data, terdapat unit shift sebanyak 16 data (40%), structure shift sebanyak 10 data (25%), class shift sebanyak 8 data (20%), dan intra system shift sebanyak 6 data (15%). Bentuk pergeseran terjemahan paling dominan pada film Aftrershock adalah unit shift dengan bentuk frasa ke kata yang disebut dengan down rank shift (40%). Pergeseran itu terjadi disebabkan karena pengaruh teknik dalam penerjemahan seperti pengurangan. Akibatnya, terjadi pergeseran peringkat dari bahasa sumber ke dalam bahasa sasaran. Penggunaan teknik pengurangan pada proses penerjemahan subtitle ini tidak mengubah makna bahasa sumber, justru dapat menjaga kealamiahan (naturalisasi) pada bahasa sasaran

Abstract

During the pandemic, education is often called “emergency remote teaching.” Remote teaching and learning is a learning system that occurs beyond the physical buildings of the campus/school using the internet and electronic gadgets (computers, smartphones, etc.), which can help the teaching and learning process occur remotely. This paper employed a survey method to gather the data. With this method, the authors designed questions through an online questionnaire to tap teachers’ perceptions about how they have run online classes during the pandemic. This study focuses on two problem formulations: the extent to which Chinese language teachers carry out emergency Chinese online teaching and learning activities during the pandemic and how teachers carry out Chinese emergency online teaching and learning activities. This study found diversity in implementing Chinese emergency online classes, where most research subjects belong to high-prepared category. This proves that the response of Chinese language teachers is quite adaptive to implementing emergency online learning during this pandemic. Keywords: remote, online, independent, emergency

Abstract

The digital era is a digital education environment where technical resources support teaching and learning. To determine educational performance, the curriculum must be adaptive to all contemporary concerns and changes. Following several curriculum reforms, the Merdeka Curriculum is currently being implemented in Indonesia. The Indonesian government has fully changed the curriculum possible to complete the educational goals anticipated in this digital era. This study compares the 2013 curriculum to the Merdeka curriculum for learning English at the senior high school level in terms of the basic framework, targeted competencies, curriculum structure, learning, assessment, teaching materials, and curriculum tools. The research design used in this study is a qualitative approach with content analysis. Based on the basic framework, targeted competencies, curriculum structure, learning process, assessment, teaching resources, and curriculum tool, this study shows similarities and differences between the 2013 and Merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the Interpersonal meaning that appeared in a conversation through the analysis of the Mood and speech function employed by the host and the guest star in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon talk show. In analyzing the data, descriptive qualitative was used to interpret the data. The research findings showed that from the analysis, all of the Mood types were found in the conversation. The frequency of occurrence of types of Moods was 308 declarative, 11 interrogatives, and 5 imperatives. Meanwhile, there were only 3 speech functions out of 4 types of speech functions along with the responses employed by the host and the guest star. The data showed that the conversation was dominated by statements, followed by questions, and the last was command. Besides, both participants mostly responded to the interlocutor's statements by giving acknowledgment or contradiction. Both the host and the guest star were actively taking turns to initiate giving – a demanding exchange by adopting a speech role and assigning a complementary one to the other. It showed that understanding interpersonal communication was not enough by only analyzing the lexicogrammar of the Mood and speech function through the constructed clauses in any discourse, but more in how the language was able to make meaning and maintain a relationship

Abstract

While online gamification in education settings has spread worldwide in this digital era, its application gets confronted with massive opposition, especially in rural contexts. Several technologically inaccessible schools may find it unfavourable to apply such a model in learning. This study looks at redefining a simple application of particular Pictionary games to boost students’ English vocabulary learning in a predominantly rural, private school setting. It aims at improving students’ vocabulary mastery through the plain-sailing Pictionary game technique and re-establishing the teacher’s best practices to apply. Two-cycle classroom action research was applied by collecting data through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The qualitative data analysis shows better-changing activities, attitudes, perceptions, and learning experiences leading to the positive outcomes of the game application. Quantitative data on students’ vocabulary tests in two-prioritized skills (reading and listening) also show a remarkable improvement from cycle one to cycle two, with the class percentage passing the success criterion for reading and listening vocabulary mastery being 83.33% and 75%, respectively. In addition, the teacher’s reflection on each cycle shapes profound insights into several contextual best practices: goal-oriented teaching, progressiveness, shift gears, differentiated learning, pace and variety, and encouragement.

Abstract

Novel adalah cerminan realita kehidupan masyarakat yang bisa dijadikan pelajaran dalam kehidupan sehari-sehari. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dan ansionalis yang terdapat dalam Novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik baca dan teknik catat. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini mengandung: tiga nilai pendidikan karakter yaitu cinta damai, senang membaca dan rasa ingin tahu. Sedangkan prinsip nasionalis meliputi kesatuan bertanah air, bangsa, pemikiran, berbahasa, tatanan negara, sistem pemerintahan, sistem perdagangan, sistem kejahteraan dan rencana budaya, keleluasan beragama, berekspresi dan menyuarakan pendapat dan berorganisasi, dan prestasi: keinginan untuk membentu kesejahteraan, kebesaran, dan kejayaan bangsa.

Abstract

Pembelajaran BIPA saat ini semakin meluas. Hal ini tampak dari semakin banyaknya pegiat-pegiat BIPA baik yang bergerak di dalam institusi atau pun mandiri menyelenggarakan program BIPA. Program BIPA ini dapat dilaksanakan secara daring atau pun luring. Walaupun moda pelaksanaan daring dan luring, tetapi pembelajaran BIPA tetap harus pada esensinya, yakni mengajarkan bahasa dan budaya Indonesia. Dalam mengajarkan dua hal tersebut, tentu pengajar memiliki kendala-kendala tertentu, khususnya dalam pembelajaran BIPA daring. Masalah umum yang sering terjadi adalah terkait dengan jaringan atau media yang digunakan. Namun, apakah hanya perihal hal tersebut. Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut sehingga diperlukan sebuah penelitian terkait problematik pembelajaran BIPA daring berdasarkan sudut pandang pengajar BIPA yang dianalisis dengan metode survei. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa Pertama, terkait keterampilan berbahasa. Pada problematik pertama ini dapat terlihat bahwa permasalahan yang paling banyak muncul adalah tentang keterampilan menyimak. Kedua, terkait dengan materi ajar yang paling sering dialami pengajar adalah materi ajar tentang budaya. Ketiga, terkait dengan media ajar yang paling sering menjadi kendala adalah platform daring yang digunakan. Keempat, terkait evaluasi pembelajaran yang paling sering dialami oleh pengajar adalah tentang penentuan jenis evaluasi yang tepat untuk keterampilan berbahasa, khususnya keterampilan menulis. Kelima, terkait pemelajar yang sering menjadi problem adalah tentang semangat pemelajar yang membuat pemelajar tidak aktif saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Berdarkan lima hasil tersebut dapat dinyatakan dua saran, yakni (1) bagi pengajar BIPA yang harus memiliki kematangan persiapan pembelajaran dan (2) bagi para pegiat BIPA agar meningkatkan intensitas pertemuan untuk sekadar berbagi pengalaman atau berbagi ilmu terkait pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

巴塔克是印度尼西亚的少数民族之一。巴塔克族的传统文化之一是Pomersa Na Sampuludua。不管是印度尼西亚巴塔克族的Pomersa Na Sampuludua,还是中国的十二生肖,都是关于十二星座的事情。这项研究的目的是文化比较研究,既说明中国十二生肖与印度尼西亚巴塔克族Pomersa Na Sampuludua的基本信息对比分析。使用Kozok(2009)的Pomersa Na Sampuludua研究结果和曲彦斌(2012)的十二生肖研究结果进行文献研究,结果表明,印度尼西亚巴塔克Pomersa Na Sampuludua也可以说是印度尼西亚巴塔克族的十二星座。和中国的十二生肖相比,印度尼西亚巴塔克Pomersa Na Sampuludua的数量和作用是相同的,但是计算方式及符号是不相同的。
