Abstract

Jayapura City is a malaria-endemic area, with Kayo Batu Village as one of the villages in Jayapura City, which has an endemic level III or API > 100%. The highest of APIs are influenced by an imbalance of host, agent, and environmental factors, such as low levels of malaria prevention behavior and lack of environmental control. This service activity aims to carry out early detection of malaria, which is expected to be a step in preventing malaria transmission to reduce morbidity and death rates due to malaria. The activity method was carried out by mass blood examination (Mass Blood Survey) using the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) on 164 residents in three RT Kampung Kayo Batu. Inspections are carried by door to door. There were three people (1.8%) who tested positive for malaria with the Plasmodium falciparum parasite type. Of the three people who tested positive for malaria, two people were children aged 6-11 years, and one person was an adult. There is a need to increase the knowledge, skills, and awareness of the people of Kampung Kayu Batu regarding preventing malaria by routinely eradicating mosquito nests around the house to reduce the number of malaria infections. It is hoped that all parties will increase awareness of malaria and encourage behavioral changes toward malaria prevention and environmental control.

Abstract

In modern education, the cultivation of critical skills among students is paramount to address the complexities of the 21st century. This study investigates the efficacy of amsilati class discussions in fostering critical skills development, addressing a gap in understanding the true impact of this innovative learning approach. Utilizing Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology, the research engages stakeholders in Islamic boarding schools to collaboratively assess the influence of amsilati discussions on students' critical skills. Data collection involves class observations, teacher interviews, and pre- and post-application tests. Findings reveal significant enhancements in students' ability to analyze information, construct arguments, and engage actively in discussions. Teachers play a pivotal role as facilitators and mentors, guiding students in honing critical thinking skills. Evaluation of student progress highlights increased participation, improved dialogue quality, and a positive learning atmosphere. The study underscores the importance of continuous evaluation and adaptation of learning strategies to nurture critical thinking among students, equipping them to navigate contemporary challenges effectively.

Abstract

The existence of BUMDes becomes a hub of innovation and a platform for the village community to develop a profitable venture. BUMDes Nekaf Mese Oeltua village District of Kupang—NTT has been operating since 2017 and has several MSME groups built. Nevertheless, the facts show that a large group did not operate optimally and was even dissolved. These conditions indicate that the existence of the BUMDes Nekaf Mese village of Oeltua has not fully affected the improvement of the economy of the people. This is predicted by the limited knowledge, capabilities, and skills of the SDM, as well as the perception of marketing methods from a traditional perspective. It is important to carry out a program to improve the productivity of MSME groups through digital marketing content training and education in order to improve their competitive advantage. The results of this activity show a change in the participant's awareness of effective marketing methods in the modern marketing era. In addition, this activity enhances knowledge, abilities, and skills as a capital for business development and increases competitive advantage. As a reflection of these activities, we believe that it is necessary to collaborate with the various parties with their respective roles to contribute through long-term programs so as to create sustainability for the various efforts that have been made to enhance the growth of the existing MSME group. Abstract

DHF can occur at any time of year and affect people of all ages. This disease is linked to  environmental factors and community behavior. Several circumstances can lead to the establishment of DHF in the educational setting. There are two types of factors: internal and external. Internal factors of transmission may include a person's immunity. The conditions of various mosquito breeding places, such as water reservoirs, can be used to determine what causes a person to suffer from  DHF since these factors allow mosquitos to thrive and breed. This is because the water reservoir at SDN 2 Cintaratu appears moist, lacks sunlight, is not cleaned, and is not closed. The purpose is to develop understanding and modify the behavior of public elementary school pupils 2 Cintaratu in  order  to  avoid risk  factors  for  DHF. Lecture,  question  and answer,   discussion,   and   demonstration   are   the   methods employed. The whole audience consisted of 48 students aged 9 to 12. In this pre-test question, there are 5 multiple-choice questions with the number of scores on each question is 20 points. This question leads to the student's cognitive dominance to determine the level of students' knowledge about dengue hemorrhagic fever before  being  provided  the  material. Based on the  pretest  and posttest scores, the average number of prestests was 58%, with 15 students scoring below average and 33 scoring above average. The  average number  of  posttests was 72%, with  11  students scoring less than the norm, and 37 students scoring more. Conclusion: In achieving the objectives of health promotion carried out, there are four indicators that will be achieved for students from eight PHBS indicators in the school environment, namely, washing hands with clean running water and soap, using clean and healthy toilets, eradicating mosquito larvae, and managing and disposing of waste in its place

Abstract

Teachers play an important role in realizing national education goals. Teachers need to be aware and determined to develop themselves to become professionals. Continuous self-development can provide added value for teachers, professional organizations, and the quality of education. One of the self-development that teachers can do is scientific publications. However, some teachers at SMA Negeri 6 Semarang have difficulty writing scientific papers. Apart from that, teachers are also confused about publishing their articles. Therefore, the Sultan Agung Islamic University lecturer service team is trying to solve this problem through workshops and assistance in writing articles. The workshop participants were 56 teachers. The problem-solving method in this service activity is through a group-based, comprehensive, and resource-potential approach. Implementation of service activities consists of four stages including socialization, workshops, mentoring, and evaluation. As a result of the workshop activities, it was found that 71% of participants were able to publish articles in the form of best practice reports, newspaper articles, and journal articles.

Abstract

Fine   motor   skills   play   a   crucial   role   in   early   childhood development, involving  coordination  between  eyes  and  hands. This article explores the significance of early childhood education in nurturing these skills, particularly focusing on kindergarten-aged children. Drawing on various studies and educational theories, it emphasizes the importance of providing adequate stimulation and learning opportunities during the formative years of 0-6. The research highlights the need for innovative approaches in teaching methods, especially considering the tendency of young children to become easily bored. Utilizing the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, the study conducted  community service activities aimed at enhancing fine motor  skills in early childhood   within   a   specific   village.   Through   observation, interviews, and collaboration with teachers, the research identified weaknesses in fine motor skills among children and developed visual  learning  media  to   address  these  issues.  The  study implemented  various  activities  such  as  puzzles, coloring,  and crafting, which proved to be engaging and effective in improving children's  motor  skills. Additionally, it  discusses the  theoretical framework of cognitive development, particularly Piaget's stages, emphasizing the role of play and hands-on experiences in facilitating learning. Ultimately, the article underscores the importance of utilizing available resources and integrating innovative learning media to create enjoyable and effective learning experiences for young children, thereby promoting their holistic development.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Current developments in science and technology have a positive impact on increasing average life expectancy. This condition has resulted in an increase in the proportion of the population from adults to the elderly. The increase in population in this age group has good potential, although there are still many adults and elderly people who experience negative impacts from this development. These negative impacts include the increase in the adult and elderly population experiencing non-communicable diseases. This is in line with the increasing risk factors for non-communicable diseases. One strategy for controlling risk factors for non-communicable diseases that is efficient and effective is the promotion of healthy elderly programs. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge of the adult and elderly community in implementing healthy living behavior as a preventive effort in controlling risk factors for non-communicable diseases. The activity stages start from social preparation and administrative preparation. Then it continues with the implementation and evaluation stages of activities. The results of the activity showed an increase in public knowledge in controlling risk factors for non-communicable diseases by 18.7 points. The average pretest score was 64.3 points and the average posttest score was 83 points. Activities ran smoothly according to the planned time. It is hoped that the socialization activities for the healthy elderly program that have been implemented can be continued periodically by the Guntur Community Health Center and Ciwalen Village.
