Abstract

Village development and regional governance are central to Indonesia's national development agenda. However, in practice, monitoring demographic data, potential resources, and potential threats often transpires without the utilization of technology, yielding less accurate information. Furthermore, numerous villages, including Jatimulyo Tourism Village in Kulon Progo, have yet to fully embrace technology to harness the full potential of their local resources. Within this context, a pressing need exists for technological innovations to leverage the power of data in facilitating informed decision-making. The primary objective of this community engagement endeavor is to establish a data-driven village monitoring system to enhance the efficacy and efficiency of village monitoring processes while simultaneously promoting transparency, accountability, and community participation. The data-driven approach facilitates the collection of precise, automated data. Technology is anticipated to play a pivotal role in rectifying inaccuracies in information, offering crucial support to local government authorities and tourism managers in making well-informed decisions. This community service initiative's tangible outcome is creating a village monitoring system dashboard designed to facilitate decision-making processes and foster greater community involvement. Moreover, it is envisioned that this undertaking will maximize rural development and regional governance, instigate data-driven decision-making practices, foster the development of a robust village ecosystem, and ultimately enhance the overall well-being of the residents of Jatimulyo Tourism Village.

Abstract

Geospatial information has expanded widely, including development and regional aspects. Kebonharjo sub-district, which is in the Kapanewon Girimulyo administrative area, Kulon Progo Regency, is committed to participating in regional development by trying to optimize its various potentials. However, the database and profile of potentials (and problems) are still limited, need better documented, and are still limited to tabular data. The database and profile will have added value if presented with a spatial approach like a map. Community service programs were carried out to make a map as a basis for developing spatial data and profiles. In the preparation step, the agendas include discussion with the village official to scope the activities and products, downloading satellite image data as a basis for mapping, and collecting maps for initial reference for area boundaries. Next, the technical activities for making the map were started by carrying out the Focus Group Discussion with village officials and community representatives from all of the hamlets to obtain agreement on the boundaries of the hamlet and Rukun Tetangga (RT) areas. The results of the Focus Group Discussion were digitized and processed in the laboratory to obtain map products and an overview of public understanding regarding mapping. The output achieved from the community service was the Padukuhan and Rukun Tetangga Area Boundary Map products, both in printed and soft file versions.

Abstract

Mentawai ethnic group has unique traditions like anterior teeth mutilation and the use of herbal medicines by sikerei or siaggai laggek (traditional doctor) that cause low visitation to community health centers. The low level of puskesmas utilization rate impacts the failure to achieve the work program of the puskesmas in improving public health status, especially oral health, then influences the quality of health center services (puskesmas). This activity aims to increase community visits and the utilization of health services in Puskesmas Muara Siberut. This activity lasted on July 21, 2023, and was carried out in Muntei Village (work area of the Puskesmas Muara Siberut), South Siberut District, Mentawai Islands Regency, West Sumatra Province. Abstract

Consuming food contaminated with physical, chemical, and bacteriological substances can cause diarrhea and worms, which results in children under five years old experiencing lacking nutrition and growth disorders, putting them at risk of stunting. The six principles of food sanitation hygiene aim to reduce the risk of disease transmission and health problems from consuming food. These community empowerment activities aim to increase the knowledge of health cadres in preventing stunting for children under five years old through implementation efforts of six principles of food hygiene sanitation in households. The target of this activity was 47 health cadres. Activity stages include coordination, preparation of pocketbooks, training, and evaluation. Statistical analysis was conducted for differences in health cadres' knowledge levels before and after training using the dependent t-test. The results of the coordination show that there is support and participation from 3 built villages, including Pandak, Karangmangu, and Kemutug Kidul villages. Arranged a pocketbook on stunting prevention and six principles of food sanitation hygiene as a reference for health cadres for outreach to the community. Abstract

Healthcare facilities must adhere to patient safety principles to reduce the risk of harm. Prof. Dr. M.A. Hanafiah SM Batusangkar Hospital is among the healthcare providers in West Sumatra, necessitating endeavors to enhance and sustain service quality, especially regarding patient safety. The effectiveness of the patient safety culture depends on the 4 S supervision elements, including Structure, Skill, Support, and Sustainability. The 4S supervision model guides and aids nurses in advancing their skills related to patient safety. Survey findings at the hospital revealed that the promotion of 4S supervision was suboptimal, manifesting as nurses' limited grasp of the concept. On July 28-29, 2023, a structured socialization, education, and mentorship program was conducted for nursing executives and managers. The objective was to empower nurses to incorporate multilayered supervision into patient care and oversee the implementation of patient safety in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room settings, aiming to enhance the patient safety culture.
