Abstract

The problem of tilapia farming farmers is the presence of disease, which is caused by viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites. Prevention by farmers is the provision of vaccines, antibiotics, and immunostimulants. However, it is only effective in one type of disease. Therefore, alternative prevention is needed with natural ingredients from Macaranga tanarius leaf extract which has tannins, terpenoids, flavonoids, prenylflavonoids, and lignans that have immunostimulator properties. M. tanarius leaf extract was injected by intramuscular injection of tilapia. This research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments with three repetitions. Treatment (P1) using physiological solution (positive control), P2 = 4 % (v/v) (1mL extract + 24 mL distilled water), P3 = 8 % (v/v) (2mL extract + 23 mL distilled water), P4 = 12% (v/v) (3mL extract + 22 mL distilled water) and P5 without injection of M. tanarius leaf extract (negative control). The results showed that the leaf extract of M. tanarius could respond to phagocytic activity (45.82%) and increase the number of white blood cells (12.43 x 108 cells/mL). Based on this study, the extract of M. tanarius showed an increase in the immune response of tilapia.

Abstract

Learning motivation serves as a catalyst and a driver of student behavior toward academic success. Studies on the relationship between motivation and argumentation skills acquisition in biology education are relatively uncommon. This study evaluated the correlation between biology students’ learning motivation and their argumentation skills. This study employed a correlational design. The population for this study was composed entirely of students from the Biology Departments at IAIN Ternate and STKIP Kie Raha, both located in North Maluku, Indonesia. This study involved 110 students from IAIN Ternate and STKIP Kie Raha. Those selected by random sampling. The instruments used in this study were proven to be valid and reliable for assessing students’ learning motivation and argumentation skills. The data evaluated using regression analysis at a 0.05 level of significance. There was no correlation between students’ motivation and argumentation skills in RQA, ADI, ADI-Integrated RQA, or conventional classrooms. This finding might be influenced by several factors. First, the students are unfamiliar with the model. Hence, they require additional time to adjust to the learning phases. The next factor is that students lack the necessary capacity to integrate prior learning experiences into their understanding of acquired concepts. Another factor is the lack of learning facilities and infrastructure. Nonetheless, this study serves as a springboard for future research on similar themes to improve the quality of college instruction and the graduate

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to 1) describe the application of the learning model of Market Place Activity (MPA) in biology materials and 2) describe the advantages and disadvantages of the learning models. It was a literature study (library research) of the systematic literature review (SLR) type. There were three stages used in this review: 1). Identification. All the articles searched by Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and Academia databases. There were 158 articles found across all databases. 2). The screening process. After screening the identified articles, there were 38 of them. 3). Eligibility. The feasibility determined with the inclusion criteria to achieve five articles. It appears that the application of the learning model of Market Place Activity MPA) can facilitate activities and improve students' biology learning outcomes. Even though the learning model can enhance the student's ability to become active, it is time-consuming. This study suggests that the classroom can run effectively and efficiently if the applied model meets the needs of learning and timing.

Abstract

This research and development (R & D) aimed 1) to find out how to develop LKPD based on the Diskursus Multi Representasi (DMR) learning model on the human reproductive system material, and 2) to determine the validity level of LKPD based on the Diskurus Multi Representasi (DMR) learning model on the material of the human reproductive system. This research produced a student worksheet (LKPD) based on the Diskursus Multi Representasi learning model (DMR). The research model referred to the 4-D Thiagarajan development model. The model consists of four stages, namely: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research instrument used was a validation sheet to obtain product validity data. Based on the results of the validator's assessment, the validity level of LKPD based on the Diskurus Multi Representasi (DMR) learning model on the human reproductive system is in the very valid category with an average value of 3.93 (3,5 ≤ V≤ 4). This indicates that LKPD based on the learning model is feasible to use.

Abstract

The learning process is undertaken both online and face-to-face during the pandemic. But it is constrained by time constraints and physical distance. As a result, student motivation and learning results are affected. This ex post facto research aimed to correlate the motivation toward learning outcomes during the covid-19 pandemic in MIA XI class students. The number of samples was 24 students from all 3 MIA XI classes using the Non-Random Sample technique. The instruments were a questionnaire sheet and an essay test. Data were analyzed using the product-moment correlation formula as SPSS 16.0 application for windows. The results of data analysis show that the value of rcount is smaller than rtable (0.196 < 0.404), then the null hypothesis (H0) in this study is accepted and the working hypothesis (H1) is rejected. The correlation number from product-moment correlation analysis is 0.196. Based on the interpretation of the correlation coefficient. 0.00 - 0.199 means a very weak relationship. It appears that the correlation of motivation with learning outcomes during the covid 19 pandemic in MIA XI class students is weak. In other words, the correlation between motivation and learning outcomes can be influenced by many factors. The factors could be an online learning system, teaching methods, learning intensity, interests, learning resources, school environment, and family.
