Abstract

St. John's Catholic Junior High School's students are the young generation heading towards a competitive and challenging future in all fields. To deal with present and future situations, they need important values ​​in their life. One of the important values is responsibility. Responsibility is one of the core values of St. John's Catholic School. Today, accountability is one of the virtues that are not easy to be developed. In the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, helping students to be the responsible person is becoming increasingly difficult because teachers cannot accompany them directly. Teachers need to find an effective approach and media. St. John's has a yearly recollection program to build students' values ​​and character, such as responsibility. To answer the problem and at the same time take advantage of the existing opportunities, the community servants of Atma Jaya Unika offer a form of recollection with a new approach, namely the four-sixth online recollection program via Edmodo. This recollection program develops four phases and six steps approach. Students follow the online recollection process from their respective homes. Since the beginning of the recollection process, they are conditioned to be actively involved and maintain this active involvement throughout the recollection process. It is an opportunity for them to own and build the value of responsibility. Edmodo is an educational platform that many schools have used to benefit learning activities. However, Edmodo for the four-sixth recollection model in St. John's Catholic Schools is the first time that has been conducted. The online recollection activity via Edmodo was effective, both by the school and the service team. Based on the recollection process record, students can also show their responsibility. They did and submitted their reflection and other sharing discussion results via Edmodo.

Abstract

Early childhood education is an educational service aimed at children from birth to the age of 6 years. In order to run the education well, of course, there are many parties involved. These include parents, teachers, and the community. Parents, teachers, and the community have a very important role in early childhood education. The fact found in the field is that there are still differences in the concept of early childhood education between parents, teachers, and the community. Seeing this reality, it is very necessary to hold outreach activities related to the Basic Concept of PAUD for parents, teachers, and the community in Reok District. The material presented is material related to the Nature of PAUD, the Foundation for the Implementation of PAUD, the Principles of Early Childhood Education, the Competence of PAUD Teachers, the Role of PAUD Teachers, and the Role of Parents in PAUD. The hope to be achieved from this activity is the harmony or similarity of the basic concepts of PAUD

Abstract

The development of the internet has brought significant changes in all aspects of life. The internet can help human activities become easier, more effective and even more efficient both in terms of time and various other things. Improper use of the internet can have a significant negative impact. Students, especially the elementary school age category are very vulnerable to being exposed to unhealthy internet, due to their lack of knowledge of the internet and lack of understanding of the negative impacts that can be caused by the internet. This is due to the lack of education related to the internet to them. Therefore, how important is the role of parents, teachers, and the community in providing assistance, understanding, and education to elementary school children related to the internet. One solution that can be a solution to the problem above is the holding of Socialization / Counseling and Healthy Internet Training for Elementary School Children with the aim of providing understanding to elementary school children regarding healthy internet use and knowing what to do negative impact of internet use. Service activities in the form of socialization / counseling and healthy internet training obtained results and benefits including increasing sufficient understanding of the wise use of the internet so as to maximize the positive impact of the internet and minimize the negative impact of internet use, so as to create intelligent and productive children.

Abstract

Air adalah kebutuhan pokok setiap makhluk hidup terutama manusia, hewan serta tumbuhan. Tanpa air, mahluk hidup tidak akan bisa hidup. Kecamatan Jejawi merupakan wilayah Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dengan jumlah penduduk 38.098 jiwa. Masyarakat Kecamatan Jejawi mendapatkan air untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari yang berasal dari air sungai dan air sumur. Pemanfaatan sumber air dengan kualitas yang rendah berpotensi menyebabkan penyakit diare yang merupakan penyakit endemis potensial dan merupakan Kejadian Luar Biasa (KLB) yang dapat menyebabkan kematian. Prevalensi diare pada balita di Kabupaten OKI mencapai 11, 35 % yang mana Kecamatan Jejawi menempati urutan kelima kecamatan yang memiliki kasus tertinggi, yaitu sebanyak 1.328 kasus diare. Mengingat pentingnya fungsi air tersebut maka sebagai salah satu program studi di Universitas PGRI Palembang, program studi teknik kimia berkomitmen untuk berkontribusi dalam pengelolaan lingkungan terutama di daerah Sumatera Selatan yang salah satunya tentang air. Beberapa mata kuliah yang tercantum pada kurikulum di program studi teknik kimia mempelajari tentang pengolahan air termasuk peralatan yang digunakan dalam pengelolaan air, seperti filter air atau penyaring air. Penyaring air merupakan alat yang dapat digunakan untuk menyaring serta meniadakan pengotor di dalam air dengan menggunakan penghalang atau sarana, baik secara proses kimia, fisika ataupun biologi. Filter air berguna secara meluas pada pengairan, air minum, akuarium serta kolam renang. Salah satu jenis filter yang umum digunakan yaitu filter air saringan cepat (Rapid Filter) dengan sistem pencuci balik (Back Wash). Oleh karena itu, sebagai penerapan hasil pembelajaran di prodi teknik kimia Universitas PGRI Palembang, serta membantu permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat Kecamatan Jejawi, khususnya civitas akademika SMAN 1 Jejawi, dalam hal pengolahan air bersih, dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan Filter air saringan cepat (Rapid Filter) dengan sistem pencuci balik (Back Wash).

Abstract

The Catholic Church of Ruteng Diocese has declared 2020 as the Pastoral Year of Holistic Tourism. The Church wants tourism to be an opportunity for Catholics to build the common good, and promote global brotherhood and unity. This Tourism Pastoral should be implemented in parishes, sub-parish, regions, and members of the Basic Ecclesiastical Communities (BEC) throughout the diocese. To introduce and implement tourism pastoral programs to the whole people, a Community Service Program (CSP) was designed. The CSP subject and partner were the BECs leaders in the Bethany Community of Santu Mikael Kumba Parish. The goal was for partners to recognize the nature of the 2022 Holistic Tourism Pastoral Year, recognize strategic programs and be willing to implement programs within their respective communities and BECs. The CSP method used consists of 3 main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. As a result, the CSP socialization has been completed. The target partners were enlightened by the socialization and understood the work program of the Catholic Church better. They were also ready to implement existing programs and develop regional internal programs and KBGs. This program was recommended to be carried out more often, both in the same theme and in different contexts and themes.

Abstract

The results of need assessment and situation analysis found that the teachers of the Tunas Bangsa Christian Community School Kupang had limited knowledge and skills in using Weblogs as an alternative media for online-based learning. Therefore, the purpose of community service activities was to increase the knowledge and skills of the teachers on how to create and use weblogs for online learning. The PKM method used training and also mentoring. The results of this activity indicated an increased understanding of the teachers of the school regarding the importance of using the WordPress media platform as an alternative learning media to support online learning. This was indicated by an increase in teacher knowledge based on the results of the comparison of participants' reflection scores before and after the training. In addition, teachers also experienced an increase in knowledge and skills in creating or designing WordPress as a teacher's personal website in order to publish various articles, assignments, materials, and others related to learning at school

Abstract

Teaching is an integrated activity with learning goals or objectives and assessment process. As such, it is conducted on the basis of particular learning goals which subsequently requires assessment activities to look into the impact of teaching on students learning process. The aim of this community service is to furnish the knowledge regarding the assessment process, particularly Assessment for Learning (AfL) of English teachers involving in MGMPS of English Subject at SMPN 9 Ruteng. The method used was in- service training employing Information Processing Theory namely information encoding, information decoding, infromation storing, and information rehearsal. The results have indicated that the English teachers involving in MGMPS SMPN 9 Ruteng were able to make a good instructional design along with the Assessmenf for Learning (AfL). It was proven on their works as they did the task provided by the community service team. Yet, they need to have a further professional development on curriculum and asessment following the changes and goverment policies on education.

Abstract

The prolonged Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the learning process in schools which must be abolished and replaced by learning from home. Learning from home, especially mathematics, reduces students' enthusiasm for learning and grows a sense of laziness in learning among students because they prefer to play rather than study. This also happened to students in the Santa Ursula KBG environment. With such conditions, the author uses the media of math games to help children at KBG Santa Ursula in learning mathematics. The results of the activities that have been carried out show that the use of math games increases the enthusiasm for learning and reduces the laziness of the children at the Santa Ursula KBG in learning mathematics

Abstract

Lifestyle about balanced nutrition dramatically affects the health status and life expectancy of the elderly. This community service activity aims to provide basic knowledge and skills to the elderly about the importance of balanced nutrition and its relation to degenerative diseases that often suffer the elderly. The service was carried out at the auditorium of the Pentecostal Church in Indonesia (GPDI) Segaran Palembang. A team of lecturers carried out the method of activity by providing material in the form of lectures, discussions, and video screenings. Based on the frequency distribution results of the number of participants who attended, it was found that many older people had degenerative diseases such as hypertension and obesity (overweight). The community service activities carried out were welcomed by the participants. This was seen by a large number of participants present, the enthusiasm of the participants in preparing a balanced nutrition menu and actively participating in discussion activities on balanced nutrition. Education and counselling are vital to do for the elderly. This will increase their knowledge of the elderly about balanced nutrition guidelines that can be used to prevent and overcome the problem of degenerative diseases in old age. For both private and government agencies, it is necessary to be more prompt in providing continuous counseling regarding dietary regulation, especially for the elderly with a history of degenerative diseases.

Abstract

After two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the world is starting to move, as shown by the face-to-face learning process that has begun, including in empowering communities such as the Jami' Al Muttaqin Mosque Youth in Jakarta. The problem that partners face is the ability to communicate in English which is increasingly needed. The purpose of research-based community service development of learning models for teenagers at the Jami' Al Muttaqin Mosque in Jakarta is learning English, especially about Adjective to Express Personality and Appearance. The result of community service is to produce a learning model developed by researchers under the name INITIATIVE. It is a learning model that has elements such as Idealism, Neologism, Incrementalism, Tachism, Intuitionism, Activism, Territorialism, Instrumentalism, Vocationalism, and Essentialism. It has been applied in the community service process. The model is considered appropriate to be practiced in post-Covid-19 learning because it prioritizes creativity and innovation. The paradigm used in this model is constructivist based on critical reality in education. The model not only focuses primarily on students, but involves educators and other actors, namely institutions, both schools and communities
