Abstract

Mole crabs are abundant marine resources found along the southern coast of Java Island. However, their economic value remains relatively low. Local residents are still limited to selling mole crabs in simple forms such as deep-fried batter or traditional peanut crackers (peyek). In order to increase their market value, product diversification is necessary. In this community service activity, we provided training on processing mole crabs into Padang sauce, butter sauce, and salted egg sauce dishes. Participants showed strong enthusiasm during the training. They gained new knowledge and plan to offer these processed products in their restaurants. However, to create demand for processed mole crab products, intensive promotional support is required, as mole crabs are not a commonly consumed food source among tourists. The involvement of local government and business actors is crucial in stimulating tourist demand

Abstract

Salted herbal eggs are a traditional processed food product with significant economic potential to be developed as a home-based micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME). This community service program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the residents of Mekar Jaya Village, Depok City, in producing high-quality herbal salted eggs as a viable home industry product. The program involved 52 participants consisting of housewives, youth organization members (Karang Taruna), and MSME actors. The implementation methods included lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge across several aspects, including production techniques, food hygiene, marketing strategies, and basic financial management. The highest improvement was observed in marketing and branding competencies. Post-training monitoring indicated that 88% of participants successfully initiated small-scale production and were able to market their products locally through both offline and online channels. This program demonstrates that practice-based training combined with continuous mentoring is effective in empowering communities and fostering the development of sustainable MSMEs. The findings are expected to contribute to local economic development and provide a replicable model for community-based entrepreneurship programs

Abstract

Cosmetics are pharmaceutical preparations intended for external use and are classified based on their ingredients and functions. Given their widespread use across all age groups, from infancy to the elderly, cosmetics are currently widely utilized by adolescents. Adolescents represent a vulnerable group to exposure to illegal or unsafe cosmetic products due to their natural curiosity and tendency to experiment with new things. Therefore, the objective of this community-based activity was to improve adolescents’ knowledge regarding safe cosmetics and their appropriate use. This activity was conducted at Pondok Khusus Putri Al-Halimy, West Lombok Regency, involving all students of MTs (Islamic junior high school) and MA (Islamic senior high school), as well as teaching staff. The program was carried out smoothly and received positive enthusiasm from participants. The educational intervention was effective in increasing students’ knowledge about cosmetic use. Furthermore, based on evaluation using questionnaires to assess respondents’ knowledge levels, it was found that the educational exposure successfully enhanced participants’ understanding. Knowledge regarding general knowledge about cosmetic use among adolescents increased by 3%, while illegal cosmetics increased by 9.13%

Abstract

Mas Andi Red Brick Store in Bengle Village faces marketing challenges due to its continued reliance on conventional methods such as direct promotion and face-to-face sales. This strategy is considered less effective in today’s digital era, where consumers are more active in using online platforms to search for information and make purchases. To address this issue, a Community Service Program (PKM) was carried out with the aim of helping the business partner develop their enterprise through the implementation of digital marketing strategies to increase sales. The PKM activities were conducted in several stages, including initial observation, website usage training, intensive mentoring, and direct implementation of digital strategies. The training materials included the creation of social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook, the development of promotional content, and the management of digital interactions with consumers. This was done because many potential customers search for red brick products via social media platforms. The results of this activity show that the business partner has started to understand the importance of digital marketing. The partner is now able to independently create and upload promotional content and expand their market reach through digital means. This activity not only improved their technical skills but also encouraged a change in mindset regarding the consistent use of digital technology to build a business image. The close collaboration between the service team and the partner created a participatory and practical learning environment. It is hoped that the skills gained can continue to be developed, allowing the partner’s business to grow and compete in an increasingly digital marketplace

Abstract

The escalating demand and excessive consumption of water resources have led to pollution and elevated water pressure, adversely impacting public health and environmental sustainability. Cibuluh Village possesses significant potential regarding water sources due to its proximity to seven rivers, ensuring a relatively high-water availability. However, this potential has not been fully realized due to the inadequate water resource treatment and management infrastructure. The absence of appropriate technology for water management has resulted in persistent challenges for the residents of Cibuluh Subang Village in accessing clean water. Consequently, the service has been implemented in four distinct stages: analysis of community needs, design and manufacturing of systems, implementation of programs and tool manufacturing, and testing of tools followed by field implementation. The test results revealed that the water filtration system exhibited a TDS reading of 91, indicating a high particle content. Despite these challenges, the service has led to the design and implementation of water purification systems, increased community engagement in addressing water quality issues, and the development of instructional documents on clean water usage

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) play a crucial role in Indonesia's economy, particularly in creating jobs and improving community welfare. However, MSMEs still face a number of challenges, especially in marketing and utilizing digital technology. One such example is Tahu Berkah Barokah, an MSME located in Pekiringan Village, Talang Subdistrict, Tegal Regency. This business specializes in tahu gambir and tahu putih (types of tofu), but still relies on conventional marketing methods and lacks a strong digital and legal business identity. Through a Community Service Program (PKM) carried out by a team from the Digital Technology University, a series of activities were implemented to enhance the competitiveness of the MSME. These activities included the creation of promotional banners, logo design as a visual business identity, registration of a Business Identification Number (NIB) for formal legality, development of a website as an online promotional medium, and the registration of the business location on Google Maps to make it easier for consumers to find. In addition, technical training was provided to the business owner to enable independent management of digital promotion. The results of this program show significant improvements in the business's image, visibility, and accessibility. The products have become more widely known both locally and online. Consumers can now easily access information about the business through the website and locate it via Google Maps. With an official NIB and appealing visual media, customer trust has also increased. This program demonstrates that collaboration between educational institutions and MSMEs can have a tangible positive impact in driving digital transformation and the development of micro enterprises in the digital era

Abstract

Background: Global challenges such as climate change, food crises, and massive urbanization demand innovative solutions. Vertical Green Entrepreneurship (VGE), which combines vertical farming technologies (hydroponics, aeroponics, aquaponics) with green entrepreneurship principles, offers a sustainable answer by utilizing limited urban space to produce fresh agricultural products, reduce carbon footprints, and create economic opportunities. Objective: This activity aims to develop a collaborative thinking framework across generations and disciplines in implementing VGE, including the development of agricultural product systems, integrated mobile-based monitoring technology, and a dual marketing system (agro-tourism visits and direct sales). Methods: The activity was conducted directly at the VGE site, Ladang Farm Technology. The approach employed collaboration between the younger generation (university students) and the elderly (lecturers entering retirement), enabling the implementation of an integrated technology system from upstream (agriculture) to downstream (marketing). Results: The VGE concept emerges as an innovative and sustainable solution. However, optimizing its application requires a holistic and collaborative approach. The unique synergy between the younger generation (Gen Z & Millennials) and the elderly generation (Baby Boomers & Gen X) is key to success. This cross-generational collaboration is not only strategic but also essential for creating sustainable impact. Conclusion: Cross-generational and cross-disciplinary collaboration is key to optimizing VGE. A holistic approach from production to technology-based marketing enhances the effectiveness of green entrepreneurship and creates sustainable economic and environmental impacts
