Students working on a thesis can experience boredom, lack enthusiasm, and even lack motivation, which can be an obstacle to the completion of the thesis. This study aimed to determine the effect of self-control on grit in students working on a thesis. The research method used is quantitative, with a sample of 234 8th-semester students working on their thesis. Based on the calculation, the r value is 0.776, which means the correlation between the self-control variable and grit is strong. The r2 value is 0.602, meaning self-control influences 60.2% of student grit. It is known that the sig. The value is 0.000, which is 0.000 <0.05; it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between self-control and grit in students working on their thesis.

Abstract

The province of Bali is inseparable from tourism. Tourism influences life satisfaction. Overall life satisfaction is derived from satisfaction with aspects of life such as material well-being, social well-being, emotional well-being, and health and safety well-being. These dimensions lead to quality of life, so the community's quality of life must be the government's and other stakeholders' primary concern. South Bali is one of the strategic tourism areas in Bali Province, so the readiness and support of the local community are critical. This research focuses on people who work in the tourism sector in the South Bali Region. The researcher emphasizes tourism-affiliated communities, which may be more sensitive to the impacts of tourism. The purpose of this study is to determine workers' perceptions regarding tourism's impact on their quality of life. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The results showed that, in general, workers' quality of life was in the moderate category, which amounted to 38.58% of 127 respondents. This data can be a reference for stakeholders or other stakeholders in paying attention to each indicator so that workers in the tourism sector who also reside or become communities in the South Bali Region can obtain life satisfaction as a result of the tourism industry in the region.

Abstract

Seeing the number of Children Against the Law (ABH) in Indonesia and the importance of optimism for the future of ABH, this study aims to examine the effect of social support on the future optimism of Children Against the Law in Jabodetabek. The research method used was quantitative, involving 176 Children Against the Law (ABH) categorized as perpetrators in Jabodetabek selected through non-probability sampling techniques, specifically purposive sampling. The questionnaire used contains modifications of the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) measuring instrument and instruments compiled by researchers based on the theory of Sarafino and Smith (2011). Test the validity of each questionnaire item using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), while Multiple Regression Analysis tests the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that ABH's future optimism was significantly influenced by social support by 43.4%. However, based on hypothesis testing regarding the significance of each independent variable regression coefficient, only two social support variables significantly influenced optimism, namely emotional support (sig. 0.029 < 0.05) and information support (sig. 0.00 < 0.05). In contrast, instrumental support and friendship did not significantly influence optimism. The results of this study can be used as a basis for creating programs aimed at increasing ABH's future optimism.

The sample used in this study is Generation Z, with a vulnerable age of 15-19 years, who are in high school (SMA), and as many as 100 respondents. Then, the researcher used multiple linear regression test techniques to analyze the data. The results obtained from this study indicate that the variables of emotional intelligence and attachment style have a negative-significant effect on the alexithymia variable with an R-value of 0.697, R-square of 0.485 with an F value of 45.736 and a P-value of <0.001 (p<0.001). The higher the emotional intelligence and attachment style, the lower the alexithymia and vice versa.

This study aimed to analyze the interpersonal communication of counseling guidance teachers in handling violations of santri discipline at the Ar Raudlatul Hasanah boarding school in Medan. This research uses qualitative methods and case studies. The research subjects were two counseling guidance teachers, the primary informants; two ustadz, who were supporting informants; and a nurturing field teacher, who were research data triangulation informants. Data collection was done through in-depth interviews and observation. The results showed that interpersonal communication established in handling violations of Santri discipline is preventive communication. It provides direct action through reprimands and repressive communication, namely the threat of sanctions if in-disciplinary Santri continues to repeat its mistakes. Sanctions are given by counseling guidance teachers in dealing with violations of Santri discipline by prioritizing family use, which is a form of punishment without elements of violence and contains elements of understanding of religious knowledge. It is intended that disciplinary students can control their behavior.

Abstract

This study explores subjective well-being's influence on employee performance at PT X, a company in the building chemical industry sector in Jakarta. This research is based on the importance of employee well-being in achieving optimal performance and how subjective well-being can be a determining factor, as supported by several studies that show a positive influence between subjective well-being and performance. Initial observations showed high employee performance results, with most employees able to complete work quickly and precisely, as well as a work atmosphere full of happiness and positive emotions based on the results of an initial survey of 30 employees. This study used a quantitative approach with data collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 165 employees of PT X. The instruments used included the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) to measure subjective well-being, as well as the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ) to measure employee performance. Using a simple regression test, the analysis results obtained an R square value of 9.7% and a significance level of p < 0.05, indicating that subjective well-being significantly affects the employee performance of PT X in Jakarta.

PT X is one of the companies engaged in Fast Moving Customer Goods (FMCG) in Indonesia, located in Jakarta. The achievement of PT X certainly must maintain the role of qualified employees so that the company can increase its productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness to excel in competition in the era of globalization. To encourage employee performance, PT X applies several values to support the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving targets, one of which is a growth mindset. Some previous research results show ambiguity in the relationship between a growth mindset and employee resilience. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of a growth mindset on employee resilience in the PT X Foods unit. Research data were obtained through the distribution of Google Forms to 87 employees who met the criteria for research characteristics. The results of this study's data analysis indicate an effect of a growth mindset on employee resilience in the Foods unit of PT X with a Sig value. 0,000 < 0,05. In addition, the coefficient of determination shows that the effect of growth mindset on employee resilience is 15%, while other variables influence the remaining 85%.
