Abstract

This study examined the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on mathematical problem solving ability of ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru. This research is a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class IX SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru which amounted to 175 students, ranging from class IX.1 to IX.5. The sample in this study was taken by purposive sampling method, so that class IX.4 which amounted to 33 students as the experimental class and class IX.5 which amounted to 33 students as the control class. Data collection techniques were carried out using test techniques with mathematical problem solving ability test instruments in the form of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The t-test results produced a significance value of 0.000 ≤ α= 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis H_0 was rejected and the alternative hypothesis H_1 was accepted, meaning that there was a difference between the average mathematical problem-solving ability of students in the experimental class and the average mathematical problem-solving ability of students in the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PBL model has an effect on students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of collaborative supervision based on Glickman's ten-step model in enhancing teacher professionalism at SMAN 2 Sawang. The model includes the stages of clarifying, listening, reflecting, presenting, re-clarifying, problem-solving, encouraging, negotiating, standardizing, and final reflecting, systematically applied through a participatory approach between the principal and teachers. This research employs a qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that active teacher involvement in all stages of supervision contributes to improved professionalism indicators, including enhanced pedagogical competence, clearer development directions, and increased commitment to transforming teaching practices. Supervision conducted in a collaborative atmosphere successfully fosters equal professional relationships and strengthens a reflective culture within the school environment. These findings reinforce the literature on the effectiveness of collaborative supervision approaches in creating a sustainable learning ecosystem and supporting the transformation of quality culture in secondary education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model with the TaRL approach on student motivation and learning outcomes in the human digestive system in class XI of SMA Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a Non Equivalent Control Group design. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMA Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi consisting of 10 classes. Sampling of the research was done by purposive sampling technique. The samples used were XI-2 as a control class using the Discovery Learning model and class XI-3 as an experimental class using the Discovery Learning model with the TaRL approach. The research instruments used were a questionnaire and a Two-Tier Multiple Choice. Based on the results of the data analysis using t-test with Sig. (2- tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 indicates that the Discovery Learning model with the TaRL approach has an effect on student motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a YouTube-based Canva application learning media on the material of protecting oneself from promiscuity and adultery, and to analyze its feasibility from the aspects of validity and practicality in Senior High Schools (SMK). This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects involved three (3) experts (certified lecturers/teachers) for media validation, twenty (5) Islamic Religious Education teachers, and thirty (30) SMK students for practicality testing. Data were collected directly in the field using a Google Form-based validity and practicality questionnaire instrument, which was then analyzed quantitatively using the SPSS program. The results of the study showed that the Canva and YouTube Media products were categorized as Valid Without Revision (VTR) by the expert team (X = 2.76) and Very Practical by teachers (94.4%) and students (95.0%). So this research provides implications that the YouTube-based Canva application media is a very suitable alternative for educators to produce innovative and relevant learning media to the characteristics of vocational school students

Abstract

Self-efficacy is thought to be an internal factor that can influence student performance, as it relates to a person's belief in their own abilities. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy on the mathematics learning outcomes of 10th grade students at Stabat 1 Public High School and to identify the level of this relationship. This study uses a quantitative method. The population in this study was all 360 10th grade students at Stabat 1 Public High School. The sampling technique used simple random sampling, and the sample for this study consisted of 35 tenth-grade students. Data collection was conducted through a self-efficacy questionnaire and documentation of mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis used simple linear regression testing through prerequisite tests in the form of normality and linearity tests. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and had a linear relationship between the two variables. The calculated F value was 7.762 with a significance of 0.009 (< 0.05), indicating a significant effect between self-efficacy and mathematics learning outcomes. However, the regression coefficient of -1.348 showed a negative effect, meaning that an increase in self-efficacy was not always followed by an increase in learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the relationship between self-efficacy and learning outcomes was in the moderate category. Thus, students' self-efficacy is still insufficient to guide their learning habits. In order to achieve optimal learning outcomes, self-efficacy needs to be accompanied by the development of academic abilities and effective learning strategies.

Abstract

Education in the digital age continues to evolve by utilizing technology to create interactive and engaging learning experiences. One of the innovations used is gamification, which is the application of game elements in the learning process. Through the Educaplay platform, interactive multimedia-based E-Modules have been developed that are able to accommodate various learning styles and increase student engagement. In Biology education, particularly in the Plantae (Plants) subject, Educaplay provides activities such as quizzes, puzzles, and educational games that help reinforce conceptual understanding. This study aims to: (1) Determine the structure, (2) Feasibility, (3) Practicality. The development model used is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). At this stage, we have only reached stage 3, Development. The results of the study show that the interactive E-Module developed is valid and feasible for use, with a rating of 81.17% from subject matter experts, 90.00% from media experts, and 82.00% from language experts. The practicality rating from teachers was 86.84% (very practical) and from students was 83.91% (practical). Thus, this module is feasible and very practical for use in biology learning.

Abstract

Interest in reading activities is a crucial foundation for the process of knowledge acquisition and learning, particularly within the scope of higher education. This study aims to analyze Biology students' reading interest and its contributing factors within the context of the natural environment of the UIR campus. The research employs a descriptive quantitative methodology. The population consists of all students in the Biology Study Program, totaling 160 individuals. A total sampling technique (saturated sample) was applied, where all members of the population served as research samples. The research instrument utilized a questionnaire, which underwent construct validation by peers. The questionnaire comprised 51 statements regarding reading interest and 59 statements regarding its contributing factors, using five-point scale options. Data collection was conducted via Google Form. The research results showed that the average score per sub-indicator for Biology students' reading interest was 73.03 (interested). Meanwhile, the average score for the indicators of factors influencing reading interest was 71.46 (not interested). It can be concluded that the overall reading interest of Biology students and its contributing factors within the context of the UIR campus environment reached a score of 72.24 (interested).
