KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah was first published in April 2013 in printed and online form published since 30 April 2018 by Department of Non Formal Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Padang. KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah equipped with ISSN (p): 2354-693X and ISSN (e): 2655-3163, published twice a year in April and October. KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah education contains articles from research and/ or analytical-critical in the field non-formal education specifically edult education study, community education, training and development of human resources, counseling, and community development. The spesification purpose are intended to explore, develop and explain the knowladge of history, philosophy, principles, policies, designs, and technologies that are used and developed in non-formal education services. KOLOKIUM: Jurnal Pendidikan Luar Sekolah have a role and participates in efforts to support the preservation of scientific traditions derived from the theoretical study of researchers and the practical experience of education practitioners.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the community empowerment process carried out by the Panca Daya. This initiative is believed to stem from the success of the Panca Daya Waste Bank in empowering the community through waste management. The research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Primary data sources consist of key informants, including managers of the Panca Daya Waste Bank and other individuals familiar with the community empowerment process, while secondary data sources include documents, articles, and journals. Informants were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The researcher served as the main instrument, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection methods. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, the researcher applied triangulation of data, methods, and theories. The findings of this study indicate that the community empowerment process carried out by the Panca Daya Waste Bank involves three main aspects. In the aspect of knowledge development, (1) the efforts include conducting needs identification and analysis, (2)  organizing socialization and outreach programs, and (3)  forming discussion groups. In the aspect of participation enhancement, (1) the process is carried out by leveraging social media and digital platforms, (2) offering unique and attractive savings payment systems, and (3) holding recycling creativity competitions. Meanwhile, in the aspect of economic strengthening,(1)  the initiatives include providing training on product diversification, (2) developing products, and building partnerships.

Abstract

This research examines the role of parents in shaping children's behavior, with an emphasis on their responsibility in guiding children toward positive behavior. The purpose of this research is to identify the role of parents, the factors that hinder children's behavior, and the efforts made by parents to instill good values. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected thru observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thru the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the role of parents is very important, as children are closer to their parents compared to others in their daily lives. The inhibiting factors include environmental influences (family, school, and community), parental busyness, and technology. Meanwhile, parental efforts in shaping children's behavior are carried out thru exemplary behavior, habituation, and consistent attention.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Android-based web-learning model integrating Minangkabau local wisdom to improve students' digital literacy skills and self-confidence in the digital learning era. The research employed a Research and Development method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). During the definition phase, a survey was conducted with 100 students at ISI Padangpanjang to identify their levels of digital literacy and self-confidence. The design phase focused on developing learning syntax, designing the application interface, and integrating local cultural values. The product was developed as an Android application, then validated by three experts, tested for practicality by 20 students and two lecturers, and tested for effectiveness using a pretest-posttest design. The results showed that the developed model achieved an average validity score of 90.2%, categorized as very valid. The practicality test yielded an average score of 90.3% from both students and lecturers, categorized as very practical. Effectiveness testing using a paired t-test showed a significant increase in digital literacy (t = 8.52; p = 0.000) and student self-confidence (t = 9.01; p = 0.000). These findings demonstrate that integrating technology with local cultural values can create meaningful learning experiences, improve digital skills, and strengthen students' character. This research highlights the importance of digital learning innovations that are not solely technically oriented but also rooted in cultural values, thus supporting the Freedom to Learn policy and strengthening student identity in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation of the main female character in the film Sampai Nanti, Hanna! using liberal feminism studies. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. The data for this study is the dialogue in the film Sampai Nanti, Hanna!. The data source for this study is the film Sampai Nanti, Hanna!. The data collection techniques in this study are listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The data analysis techniques for this study are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Based on the results of the study, three aspects of liberal feminism were found, namely individualism, freedom, and rationality. The most dominant data is rationality because the main character Hanna describes a woman who does not give up on the situation she faces, but tries to control the direction of her life, both in matters of love and work.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening religious character among adolescents in Tanjung Tebat Village and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The research problem centers on the lack of consistency in religious character development among rural youth outside formal schooling. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied using field research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through triangulation by comparing results across sources. Analysis involved data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that religious values are developed through community-based activities such as mukhadarah (religious speech training) and congregational Dhuhr prayers. Additional focus is given to Qur’an reading skills and adherence to Islamic dress codes, especially among female adolescents. The character-building process includes stages of introduction, internalization, habituation, and implementation, monitored through behavioral discipline and social reinforcement. Supporting factors include internal motivation, family involvement, and the commitment of community religious facilitators. Inhibiting factors involve limited male role models and inadequate religious facilities. These results highlight the importance of non-formal, community-driven religious education in shaping adolescent character in rural areas.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) explain the form of the betorang customary series in the Kayuagung tribe of OKI district, (2) explain the meaning of the betorang custom for the people of the Kayuagung tribe of OKI district and (3) explain the behavior of the community in preserving the betorang custom in the Kayuagung tribe of OKI district. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research that will be conducted by researchers is ethnographic study research. The research location is in Kayuagung Kab OKI. This research uses the type and source of data, namely by using primary data. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing and using source triangulation. The research subjects were obtained and several informants, namely traditional leaders, village heads, community leaders and the people of the Kayuagung tribe. Data collection procedures are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are the existence of cultural literacy in the betorang custom can find out from the stage with entographic studies in the Kayuagung tribe. The people of the Kayuagung tribe have good abilities in terms of cultural literacy.

Abstract

Education is an essential basic need for every individual and serves as the main foundation in the formation of quality human resources. Thru education, an individual not only acquires knowledge and skills but also internalizes moral and social values, as well as critical thinking abilities that are essential for facing life's challenges. However, the reality shows that the opportunity to obtain formal education is still not evenly distributed due to economic, social, and geographical factors. To bridge this gap, the Indonesian government organizes the Equivalency Education Program as part of the non-formal education pathway, which includes Package A, Package B, and Package C. This program aims to provide learning opportunities equivalent to formal education while also developing critical thinking skills and ensuring that students' learning outcomes are relevant to real-life needs. In practice, the implementation of equivalency education still faces various obstacles, especially in terms of teaching methods. The learning process, which tends to be conventional and educator-centered, results in low active participation and critical thinking skills among students. To address these issues, more contextual and participatory learning innovations are needed, one of which is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This model emphasizes authentic problem-based learning, encouraging students to analyze, collaborate, and independently and reflectively find solutions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the aim of illustrating the implementation of PBL in enhancing critical thinking skills and learning outcomes of students in equivalency education programs. The conceptual review results indicate that the implementation of PBL has a positive impact on the improvement of critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Thus, the application of the PBL model is considered effective and relevant in the context of equivalency education because it aligns with the principles of andragogy, contextual learning, and the development of lifelong learning.

Abstract

Ngafe culture has become an integral part of the friendship communication style among Generation Z teenagers. This phenomenon attracts attention, especially in the context of family education, as it relates to social dynamics and the role of families in guiding their children's social behaviour. This study aims to identify the different activities carried out by Gen Z teenagers in cafes and to understand the meaning of ngafe in the context of friendship communication from a family education perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method where data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The research subjects were students in the city of Malang who were involved in café activities. The results showed that cafe activities are diverse, namely academic, social and networking, entertainment, and personal existential activities. Ngafe is important to Gen Z as a means of strengthening friendships, expressing self-identity and expanding social networks. Families play an important role in providing guidance and supervision to ensure that these activities are balanced and do not interfere with core responsibilities. The family's role in instilling social and ethical values is crucial in helping Gen Z to enjoy the ngafe culture in a positive and productive way.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide assistance with digitalization and knowledge about tourism awareness in Nagari Sungai Aur, Pasaman Barat Regency. The main focus of the community service is the development of a website and social media as a marketing strategy for the integrated tourist area "Bawah Bingin," which is the new icon of the nagari. The priority issue faced is the lack of digital promotion and the palm oil-based creative economy center that has not been optimally managed. Thru this assistance, the service team from Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) conducts training in content creation, digital marketing, and support for local MSMEs to optimize promotion. The expected outcomes of this program are the formation of a tourism-aware community, the development of integrated tourist areas, and the increase in community income in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets.

Abstract

In order to achieve the national education goals, non-formal education initiatives are essential, especially when it comes to encouraging a love of learning outside of the classroom. The Seribu Satu Cita Foundation's Maghrib Belajar Program is one kind of real. This program aims to teach kids how to make the most of their after-school hours by studying, participating in educational events, and helping with homework in order to enhance their academic achievement, self-discipline, and religious character. Observation, documentation, and interviews are some of the data gathering methods used in this descriptive qualitative study. Problem identification, data collecting and analysis, and analysis of the study's results are the phases of the research process. The results of the study show that the Maghrib Belajar program is successfully implemented through non-disruptive planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring procedures. In addition to improving children's learning and comprehension, this program cultivates self-discipline, a strong work ethic, and a drive to learn on their own. Lack of parental participation and inadequate infrastructure are two traits that should be mentioned, nevertheless. As a result, the Seribu Satu Cita Foundation's Maghrib Belajar Program may be among the best methods for encouraging kids' learning in a public setting.
