Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of the melting of the identities of eight UNJ students in Instagram. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review methods. Previous research has shown that Instagram as a social media is able to construct a new identity through exploration and sharing of its self. This study provides evidence that a new self-identity can be constructed in Instagram through a second account. Here different identities are shown to the audience with different characteristics. The ideal identity construction is displayed on First Account according to their persona. The continuous use of two accounts has various implications, such as identity fragmentation, being trained to provide a different identity appearance, freedom of expression in cyberspace and being open with digital society, and experiencing identity exploration that leads to self-discovery and development.

Abstract

The number of sexual violence cases in Indonesia is increasing every year. However, only a few of the victims are willing to speak out, including on social media sites like Twitter. The study aims to determine the tendency of victims to speak by measuring the tendency of news written on Twitter through news headlines, news writers, types of sexual violence, responses to news of sexual violence revealed on Twitter, and the sustainability of the case before the law. This research method uses quantitative content analysis methods. The results of research on the tendency of sexual violence news content on Twitter show that the majority of news published does not meet the main elements of the news, and the most revealed type of violence is mental and physical sexual harassment, compared to other types of violence such as physical, sexual harassment only, sexual assault in the form of rape, prosecution or coercion of sexual activities, and forced sexual activities. Victims dominate the news writers who tell their stories via Twitter, and the rest are written by friends or relatives related to the victims. Of all the violent news stories examined, not one received a negative response. The majority responded positively, and very few responded neutrally. After the news was published on Twitter, only one case out of four continued to be processed legally. Research findings show that framing news on social media can influence people's perceptions and attitudes toward important issues

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to describe the social changes in the development of Dhoho Kediri Airport. The results show that these social changes are in the form of land acquisition (Bedol Dusun) to another place Tanjung Baru (physical changes). Communities also received compensation with a value far above the Selling Value of Tax Objects (NJOP) (economic changes), Rebuilding new clusters with much better economic conditions (social status). Invest the compensation money for land acquisition in the form of land, transport cars, livestock, and savings for school (social status). Even though the residents of Dusun Tanjung are no longer living in one area as before, they still maintain communication with each other (changes in social values). In Tanjung Baru, there is a good waste management system; in front of the house, there is a trash bin that the garbage workers will pick up every morning. This is different when the house has yet to be moved, which seems rundown because the garbage is placed in each yard (change in social norms). Organizational changes and community institutions have occurred, namely the movement of people from one RT or RW, prayer room, elementary, junior high school, kindergarten, and study center
