Abstract

This study investigates how a local media outlet constructs the public image of Sidenreng Rappang Regency through its broadcasting practices, narrative choices, and representations of local identity. The research aims to explain the ways in which MCTV Ajatappareng frames regional development, cultural values, and tourism potential, while also examining the dynamics of media-government interaction in shaping these narratives. Employing a qualitative single case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of broadcast archives and news reports, then analysed using thematic procedures. The findings show that regional image construction emerges through development-oriented storytelling, the reinforcement of cultural representation, and the promotion of local potential. Media-government relations take the form of semi-institutional collaboration that influences information flow and content production. The construction of regional image is strengthened by access to information and media proximity to the audience, yet constrained by limited human resources and the absence of a structured regional communication roadmap. The study introduces the Media-Governance-Image Nexus as a conceptual model that illustrates the interdependent roles of media, government, and public perception. The results contribute to theoretical discussions on communication governance and provide practical insights for enhancing collaborative public communication strategies.

Abstract

This study explores how TikTok influences turn social-media buzz into intentions to buy sustainable products among Indonesian Generation Z consumers. It investigates both the direct and indirect impacts of TikTok influence on sustainable purchase intention, with Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) and sustainable attitudes acting as mediators. The research involved an online survey of 250 active TikTok users aged 17 to 25 who had previously bought eco-friendly products. Data were analyzed using structural equation modelling with partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The findings show that TikTok positively and significantly affects sustainable purchase intentions. Furthermore, TikTok influence boosts FoMO and strengthens positive attitudes toward eco-friendly products, and these factors further encourage sustainable purchasing intentions. The results indicate that social pressure to keep up with TikTok trends, alongside positive perceptions of sustainable products, plays a key role in turning social media excitement into actual sustainable purchase decisions. This study offers practical insights for marketers and policymakers on creating responsible TikTok content to support sustainable consumption.

Abstract

The decline in students’ moral and spiritual values highlights the urgency of developing character education based on religious habituation. This study was motivated by the need to instill Islamic character values in elementary school students through meaningful and consistent routines. The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation and effectiveness of the Program Literasi Agama Islam (PLITA) or Islamic Religious Literacy Program at SDN 2 Giriwangi in shaping the religious character of fifth- and sixth-grade students. The PLITA program is conducted every Thursday through a series of activities, including the recitation of Asmaul Husna, reading short Qur’anic surahs, chanting Sholawat Nabi, short religious lectures, interactive discussions, and structured reflective assignments. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of PLITA activities. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing—with triangulation for validation. The results show that PLITA significantly contributes to improving students’ religious attitudes, discipline, responsibility, and spiritual awareness. Students became more engaged, polite, and active in religious practices, while teachers played a crucial role as role models and value reinforcers. The findings align with the theories of Habituation (Skinner), Social Learning (Bandura), and Character Education (Lickona), emphasising repetition, modelling, and internalisation of values. In conclusion, PLITA is an effective and innovative religious education model based on habituation and reflective literacy, fostering religious character and discipline among elementary students.

Abstract

This study examines how social media influences green purchase intention among Generation Y and Z consumers in Indonesia through egoistic motivation and perceived green value. Using PLS-SEM analysis on 311 respondents aged 18-42 years, the research reveals that social media positively affects green purchase intention both directly (β=0.118, p<0.05) and indirectly through egoistic motivation (β=0.141, p<0.001) and perceived green value (β=0.305, p<0.001). Perceived green value demonstrates stronger mediating effects than egoistic motivation, explaining 53.3% variance in purchase intention. These findings suggest that marketers should leverage social media platforms in ways that resonate with the emotional and social aspects of their audiences, encouraging more sustainable consumption among digitally-connected younger generations.

Abstract

This study examines the demographic characteristics that influence consumer interest and buying intention toward plant-based meat products. Using a descriptive research design, data were collected from 368 respondents through an online voluntary sampling approach. Cross-tabulation analysis was conducted to identify patterns between demographic variables and purchase intention. The results show that younger adults, particularly those aged 25–34, females, and respondents with higher education levels demonstrate the strongest interest in plant-based meat. Consumers residing in urban areas, especially Jakarta, and those with stable occupations and middle-level income also exhibit higher buying intention. Lifestyle factors further shape receptiveness, with health-oriented individuals and moderate meat consumers showing greater openness to plant-based alternatives. The findings indicate that interest in plant-based meat products is driven not by medical necessity, but by general health awareness, lifestyle preferences, and demographic advantages such as education and urban exposure. Overall, the study concludes that demographic factors play a central role in shaping consumer interest in plant-based meat and provides critical insights for understanding the emerging market potential of alternative protein products.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of human capital, as measured by education and health, on poverty levels in 34 provinces in Indonesia. Using quantitative methods with panel data for the 2020–2024 period, this study applies a fixed effect model based on the results of the Chow and Hausman tests. Testing is carried out through panel regression, t-tests, F-tests, and classical assumption testing to ensure model validity. The results of the study show that education has a negative and significant effect on poverty, which means that increasing the average length of schooling can reduce the number of poor people. In contrast, health as measured by life expectancy has a positive and significant effect, indicating structural variations between regions that require further study. Simultaneously, both human capital variables have a significant influence on poverty. A limitation of this study is that the capability indicators used are limited to education and health, thus not reflecting the full dimensions of the capability approach. Therefore, future researchers are advised to include other variables such as access to technology, employment opportunities, environmental conditions, or social protection to provide a more comprehensive picture of the determinants of poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines challenges faced by Indonesian womenpreneurs in innovation development and capability enhancement. Using a quantitative approach with Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from 100 women entrepreneurs in Indonesia's tourism sector MSMEs. Results indicate that innovative behavior and entrepreneurial competencies significantly influence innovation development, which positively impacts womenpreneur success through innovation implementation. However, skill development programs showed no significant effect on innovation development. The findings emphasize the critical role of innovative behavior and entrepreneurial competencies in driving innovation development and subsequent business success among women entrepreneurs.

Abstract

The implementation of electronic parking retribution (e-retribution) represents a digital innovation supporting the realization of Smart Governance and Smart Mobility at the local government level. This study aims to analyze the strategy and effectiveness of e-retribution implementation in Kotabaru Regency as part of the Smart City program. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2023) interactive model. The findings reveal that e-retribution contributes positively to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in local revenue management. However, its effectiveness remains limited due to unequal digital infrastructure, low technological literacy, and weak inter-agency coordination. These challenges indicate the need for adaptive strategies and digital ecosystem strengthening to expand program success. This study contributes both empirically and theoretically to the development of Smart Governance and Smart Mobility concepts, particularly in the context of archipelagic local governments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of compensation, career development, and job satisfaction on turnover intention, with job satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. In addition, employment engagement is analyzed as a moderating variable to strengthen the effect of compensation and career development on turnover intention. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to test the hypotheses. The sample consists of employees from various companies. The results indicate that compensation positively and significantly influences job satisfaction. Similarly, career development has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, supporting the hypotheses. However, compensation's influence on turnover intention was found to be insignificant, leading to the rejection of this hypothesis. In contrast, career development positively and significantly influences turnover intention. Job satisfaction was also found to mediate the effects of both compensation and career development on turnover intention. Additionally, employment engagement significantly moderates the relationship between career development and turnover intention, but its moderating effect on compensation was not significant. The findings of this study highlight the importance of fair compensation and career development programs in enhancing employee satisfaction and reducing turnover intention. Companies should prioritize these factors in their human resource strategies to foster higher employee retention rates.

Abstract

Performance is a crucial aspect in determining the effectiveness and productivity of employees, including Family Planning (KB) counselors who play a direct role in community services. In the context of public organizations, factors such as work motivation, work environment, and job satisfaction become key determinants that influence employee performance. This article reviews the influence of motivation, work environment, and job satisfaction on performance, both directly and indirectly through the mediating variable of job satisfaction. The writing of this scientific article uses a qualitative method with a literature study (library research) approach based on various national and international research findings related to human resource management in the public sector. The results of this literature review show that: (1) Motivation has a positive effect on performance; (2) The work environment has a positive effect on performance; (3) Job satisfaction has a positive effect on performance. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that increasing motivation and creating a conducive work environment will enhance the job satisfaction of Family Planning counsellors, which in turn leads to an overall improvement in performance.
