Abstract

Childbirth is a natural physiological process, but it can cause pain due to contractions. Labor pain if not treated can cause stress which can reduce uterine contractions. A midwife must be able to provide labor care that can provide comfort during labor, one of which is massage and rebozo. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of massage counterpressure andrebozo on labor pain. Method used quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest, by comparing results between 2 groups, namely the massage groupcounter pressureand rebozzo technique. The study was conducted at BPM Bidan E, Tasikmalaya for 4 months from July to October 2024, population being all mothers giving birth in the first stage. The sample with quota sampling and each treatment being 15. Observation of pain using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) with 4 measurements during contractions every 30 minutes. The duration was 5-10 minutes. Analysis used Wilcoxon test. The results of the study were that counterpressure massage and rebozzo technique were effective reducing pain scale of the first stage labor. The results of the statistical test obtained p value = 0.352 (> 0.05), so that between massage counterpressure and rebozzo has no difference in reducing pain in the first stage labor. However, when viewed from the average difference in counterpressure massage is 2.67 while rebozzo the average difference is 2.22, so it can be stated that counterpressure massage more effective in reducing pain in the first stage than rebozzo. It is hoped that providers of labor care can reduce labor pain with various techniques according to the comfort of the mother giving birth.

Abstract

Nurses providing nursing services are the largest health workforce and services in health services. The results of the situation study informed that nursing services at Majalaya Regional Hospital still found patients complaining about a lack of caring nursing services and a lack of caring leadership management for nurses. The aim of this research is to explore caring behavior in nursing services at the Majalaya Regional General Hospital. The research method uses a mixed methods sequential exploratory strategy. Primary data collection uses data collection techniques by means of in-depth interviews distributing questionnaires. The research sample used a purposive sampling technique, conducted in-depth interviews with 7 nurses and 6 patients and distributed questionnaires to 30 nurses and 30 patients. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis (collaizi's 7-step) and univariate data analysis to calculate frequency data distribution. The research results include caring leadership, caring behavior of nurses and caring services to patients. Health services (nursing) require the synergy of 3 aspects of the role, namely the caring leadership style of the head of the room in managing nurses continuously in the caring behavior of nurses towards recipients of caring services (patients).  There is a need to strengthen caring aspects for nurse leaders and nurses in the form of training and regular observation, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of caring in nursing services.

Abstract

Floods are among the most frequent natural disasters in Indonesia, including in Sirau Village, Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province. These recurring floods, occurring almost annually, result in significant infrastructure damage, economic losses, and health challenges for the affected communities. Moreover, the lack of preparedness, particularly among children, remains a critical issue. Preliminary interviews with the principal and students at MI Muhammadiyah 01 Sirau revealed that most students exhibit low levels of self-efficacy regarding flood disaster preparedness. This study employed a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population comprised 40 fourth- and fifth-grade students from MI Muhammadiyah 01 Sirau, with total sampling used as the sampling method. Research instruments included the SIMBA (Siaga Menghadapi Banjir) puzzle and a self-efficacy questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The analysis revealed a significant improvement in students' self-efficacy levels after using the SIMBA puzzle, with a p-value of 0.001 (p 0.005). This finding confirms that the SIMBA puzzle effectively enhances students' confidence and preparedness in dealing with flood disasters. The SIMBA (Siaga Menghadapi Banjir) puzzle is an effective educational tool for improving self-efficacy among school-age children in flood disaster preparedness.

Abstract

The World Health Organization in 2019 reported that approximately 1.13 billion people worldwide suffer from hypertension, meaning that 1 in 3 people globally is diagnosed with hypertension. Hypertension can cause individuals to experience anxiety, which, in turn, can worsen their condition. Therefore, hypertensive patients experiencing anxiety require appropriate and effective treatment to reduce anxiety and prevent worsening hypertension. Objective To describe the characteristics of elderly individuals experiencing anxiety, to illustrate the results of anxiety detection using the HARS method, to explain the implementation of the guided imagery technique, and to assess changes in anxiety levels among elderly hypertensive patients following guided imagery therapy. Research Method A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method was used to explore nursing issues and client intervention techniques by applying guided imagery therapy to reduce anxiety in elderly hypertensive patients. The results is Anxiety reduction was observed after guided imagery therapy, with a decrease of 5 points in respondent 1, 3 points in respondent 2, and 6 points in respondent 3. The study concluded that after four days of guided imagery therapy, all three respondents experienced a reduction in anxiety levels. Initially, all three respondents had severe anxiety levels. After the therapy, their anxiety levels decreased to a moderate level.

Abstract

Hypertension is high blood pressure whose systolic is more than 140 mmHg and diastolic is more than 90 mmHg. Hypertension in the elderly is mostly isolated systolic blood pressure (HST), with increased systolic blood pressure leading to an increased risk of myocardial infarction and stroke even when the diastolic is in the normal range. Prevention efforts are made by providing education about the prevention of hypertension to the elderly who have never experienced hypertension. This study aims to determine the effect of education through Visual media on the level of knowledge of the elderly about the prevention of hypertension. quantitative research using quasi experiment design, the design used is one group pre-test post-test design. Number of participants involved in this study was 55 participants and sampling in this study with Probability Sampling technique using multi stage random sampling method. Participants involved in this Reasearch were those who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, namely the elderly who did not have a history of hypertension in the Selasari. This research was conducted in February - April 2024. The intervention was given after the participants filled in the queationer (pre test) and the measurement was carried out after the intervention was given in the form of filling out the questioner (post test). The measurement results were recorded in the observation sheet to be analyzed using SPSS Version 26 software with statistical tests. Data on participant characteristics are displayed in frequencies and percentages while the effect of the intervention is expressed in P-Value. The study states that there is an effect of education through visual media on the level of knowledge of the elderly about preventing hypertension with a significance value on the results of the Paired T-Test test obtained ρ-value (0.000) < α (0.05). Education through Visual Media affects the level of knowledge of the elderly about the prevention of hypertension.

Abstract

Stroke is a health problem that is the main cause of disability at a young age. In developing countries, stroke ranks third as the main cause of death after heart disease and cancer. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of mirror therapy on increasing muscle strength in stroke patients. Stroke is a functional brain disorder that can impact various body functions, including motor deficits in the form of hemiparesis. Mirror therapy is a therapy for stroke patients that involves the mirror neuron system. This type of research is pre-experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. The population was all non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with a sample of 17 patients, using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used was the Wilcoxon test with a normality test using Shapiro Wilk. The research results showed that the average muscle strength before the intervention was 3.06 after the intervention was 4.00. The results of analysis using the Willcoxon test obtained a p value for muscle strength of 0.002 < 0.05. This means that H0 is rejected, there is an effect of mirror therapy on increasing muscle strength in non- hemorrhagic stroke patients. Mirror Therapy has an effect on increasing muscle strength in stroke patients with hemiparesis, so the mirror therapy technique can be used as management and treatment to increase muscle strength in stroke patients

Abstract

The phenomenon of fatherlessness has become a global issue that affects the psychological and emotional development of children into adulthood. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of positive affirmation therapy in reducing aggression behavior in female college students who experience fatherlessness. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with the subjects of three female college students aged 20-21 years. Data were collected through a fatherless impact questionnaire, observation sheets, and the implementation of positive affirmation therapy for four intervention sessions. The results showed that the experience of being fatherless had an impact on low self-esteem, lack of security, and inability to establish a close relationship with the father. Positive affirmation therapy significantly decreased aggression scores in all subjects, from severe and moderate categories to moderate. The intervention also improved subjects self-control, as supported by previous research. In conclusion, positive affirmation therapy is effective in addressing the psychological impact of father absence and can be used as a non-pharmacological intervention that supports emotional well-being. Further research is recommended to expand the number of subjects and explore additional interventions.
