Abstract

The learning media available at SD Negeri Baun 1 already exist, but are not enough to attract students' motivation, attention, and enthusiasm in learning. The purpose of this community service activity is to find out the basic techniques of creative and innovative learning and develop them. The community service method used in this PKM activity is Community-Based Research (CBR). The technique in this activity is training, where teachers are trained to create learning media that support learning activities. The results of this PKM activity show that the activity results are measured based on participant satisfaction in participating in the activity, namely 80% very useful, 20% useful, 0% less useful, and 0% not useful. This PKM activity concludes that the school is very satisfied with the activities carried out by the community service team because it provides considerable benefits, namely increasing knowledge about the application of Padlet, Tarsiamaker, Puzzlemaker, Wordwall, and Genially learning media

Abstract

The Grow and Green program is an ecosystem restoration and environmental conservation activity that involves community entities and articulates land productivity through productive plants. The program, which has been running since 2023, is on the 28-hectare land of the Berkah Usaha Sejahtera Farmer Group (KT. BUS). BRI in collaboration with the Bakau Benefits Universal Foundation (BakauMU) gave trust to KT. BUS as the beneficiary, accompanied by Universitas Muhammadiyah Berau (UMBerau), to improve the quality of forest resources and provide alternative income. The program objective is to restore, preserve ecosystems and improve the community's economy through improving the quality of forest resources to strengthen climate resilience. The program framework uses a sustainability approach, planting pattern design, data collection techniques and intensified monitoring. The grow and green program is present as a solution to optimize preservation land in Tanjung Perepat through area governance efforts by maximizing the role and capacity of farmer groups, implementing low emission forest management practices and strengthening business governance as an inclusive economic investment. The Grow and Green program is a universal benefit in maintaining a balance between the environment and community welfare ecologically, economically, socially and culturally, and creating management effectiveness that contributes significantly to global climate resilience.

Abstract

Stunting is a significant public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas such as Pundu Village and Kotawaringin Timur Regency. This study aims to improve community nutrition literacy through the Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) approach to encourage behavioral changes in stunting prevention. The research employed an initial survey to understand community conditions, followed by interpersonal communication-based socialization and community-based counseling. The findings indicate that most community members lack understanding of the importance of balanced nutrition, especially in providing proper nutrition for pregnant women and young children. The socialization activities enhanced participants' awareness of the importance of consuming nutritious food and adopting healthy lifestyles, although challenges such as limited resources and food accessibility persist. This study demonstrates that the SBCC approach effectively raises community awareness and is a strategic step for widespread application to reduce stunting prevalence in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tempeh Tengah village is one of the Lumajang district villages with a waste problem, especially plastic waste. This service activity aims to overcome this problem by turning plastic waste into eco-bricks because it is relatively easy and can be done by anyone, both children and adults. This community service uses the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which views everyone has capacities and needs to be explored and mobilized. The results of this community service show that to execute the expectations above, the subsequent activities are conducted in environmental sanitation (Source Tiyo), enhancing the environment, creating trash bins from bamboo, and management of waste banks. There has been a significant change in the community, especially in changing the mindset of viewing waste as an asset by processing it into eco-bricks. To ensure the continuity of the program in the community, the KKN team formed a core group by training students at Islamic boarding schools about the importance of maintaining environmental health. Hopefully, this program will be expanded on a larger scale to maximize its benefits and positively impact environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The main focus of this scientific article is to identify the problems faced by educators in learning to translate the Quran, develop appropriate mentoring strategies, and evaluate the results of mentoring at Madrasah Diniyah Raudhatul Jannah Singosari Malang. The mentoring method uses  Participatory Action Research (PAR) with the following implementation stages: the process of inculturation and participatory mapping, the formulation of humanitarian problems, the formulation of strategic planning, the implementation of programs, and supervision and reflection. The results of the service show that educators face challenges in the development of Quranic learning that focuses on teaching Quranic translation, such as a lack of a deep understanding of Arabic and the limitations of the methods used. Therefore, a mentoring strategy is needed through training in the an-Nashr method which focuses on strengthening the skills of memorizing and translating the Quran with a pattern of repetition of 4,3,2,1. The results of the service show that the assistance of the An-Nashr Method significantly improves the ability of educators to teach the translation of the Quran through the 4-3-2-1 repetition pattern, so that learning becomes more effective and systematic

Abstract

Tourism has experienced a paradigm shift from consumptive to participatory, where tourist villages are one form of tourism that emphasizes cultural interaction and community empowerment. This study aims to explore the development strategy of the Saribu Gonjong (Sarugo) Tourism Village in Nagari Koto Tinggi. The research method uses the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and 4A analysis (attractions, accessibility, amenities, support). The stages include local asset mapping, participatory discussions, action planning, strategic role sharing, and field training. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies of key informants such as Pokdarwis, Bundo Kanduang, youth, and village officials. The study results showed that mentoring succeeded in identifying cultural and social assets, strengthening community capacity, and increasing collaboration between parties. Cultural attractions need to be packaged more thematically, while accessibility and amenities are still challenges. The village government plays an active role as a facilitator and regulator of tourism village development. This study concludes that through 4A analysis it is effective in encouraging the development of tourism villages based on local potential in a sustainable manner. Still, long-term success requires infrastructure improvements, further training, and ongoing cross-sector coordination.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Islamic communication principles with local cultural traditions in premarital guidance at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) Muara Sipongi, Mandailing Natal. The purpose of this research is to analyze how qaulan sadiidan, qaulan layyinan, qaulan kariman, and qaulan balighan are applied in counseling sessions. Using a qualitative approach with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) design, the partners involved were four pairs of prospective brides and grooms, two religious counselors, and the Head of the KUA. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed thematically with triangulation. The results show that the integration of Islamic communication with local traditions such as sumando and manjujur enriched the counseling process and made it more contextual. Participants also demonstrated increased knowledge: initially limited in understanding Islamic communication, after the sessions they could explain and apply the concepts in marital contexts. This study concludes that premarital guidance becomes more effective when Islamic values are combined with cultural wisdom, offering a contextual model for other regions.
